Chapter 788: The Divine Burial Grounds, Gathering of Geniuses

After confirming their next objective, Mo Yu raised his eyes toward the depths of the Myriad Beast Tomb. Without hesitation, his body flickered and shot off like a streak of light across the dim expanse.

Behind him, Cai Lin and the others followed closely, leaving behind the peaceful and crystalline Lake of Treasures.

Once they had departed, their direction remained fixed — straight into the mysterious region at the heart of the Myriad Beast Tomb.

Though that part of the tomb still teemed with hordes of Beast Spirits, for Mo Yu's group—freshly armed with divine weapons and strengthened by the treasures they had gained—they were nothing more than stepping stones.

Within three days of travel and battle, after cutting through wave upon wave of undead beasts, the group began to near the ancient tomb's deepest reaches.

On the second day, they encountered another group heading in the same direction. Through a mix of cunning and force, Mo Yu and his companions extracted the information they needed from them.

In the Divine Beast Plains, only strength commanded respect. Show enough power, and even the proudest divine clans would yield.

From their interrogation, they finally learned the true name and origin of the mysterious inner region—the Divine Burial Grounds.

In the ancient past, during the final war that shattered the Divine Beast Plains, the greatest beings of this world confronted the Outer-Realm Kings within the tomb's heart. Both sides suffered devastating losses, countless supreme beings falling together.

The evil energy left by the Outer Demons' deaths corrupted the battlefield, seeping into the sacred remains of the fallen divine beasts.

Yet the remnant will of the divine beasts did not fade. Instead, it merged, forming a powerful sentience that guarded the resting place of its kin and suppressed the darkness of the invading lords.

Thus, the place became known as the Divine Burial Grounds—the resting site of countless divine titans.

Deep within the Myriad Beast Tomb…

The world grew dim. Black-gray mist and choking death energy filled the air, spreading endlessly across the land, blotting out light and warmth. Life itself seemed banished from this grim realm.

Whoosh!

The silence shattered as streaks of light sliced through the air, tearing through the mists toward the far horizon.

These streaks, naturally, belonged to Mo Yu's group, flying swiftly toward the divine cemetery.

"We should be close now," Mo Yu said from the lead. His aura was masked beneath his Concealment Cloak, suppressing even the faintest trace of life. "The Divine Burial Grounds can't be far."

Behind him, Cai Lin and Han Yue nodded, their eyes tense as they scanned the desolate land.

"Other teams must have arrived ahead of us," Cai Lin said quietly, her gaze drifting across the gray sky. "The news of this place must have spread by now."

Mo Yu inclined his head. Despite their speed, they were still only barely catching up to the vanguard. Those foremost groups were led by geniuses so strong that even he couldn't dismiss them.

They were the true titans of the Divine Beast Plains—the apex of this generation's power.

Even Hei Yin Tian, fierce as he was, would have hesitated before several of them.

And now, in the Divine Burial Grounds, those very prodigies would become their rivals. To stand among them—or above them—would require unimaginable effort.

Two hours later, the team slowed. They descended atop a black mountain shrouded in mist, their eyes turning to the land ahead.

The earth had changed color—no longer gray or black, but a deep, dark crimson.

The ground looked as though it had been soaked in blood for millennia, blood not of mere beasts but of divine sovereigns.

Through the scarlet mists, they saw towering structures rising into the sky—like colossal pillars of bone. Thousands of them, arranged like a wall between worlds, separating the inner domain from the outside.

The crimson fog within refused to spread outward, kept sealed by the barrier—divine bones, their power eternal even in death.

Mo Yu's expression hardened. "Those towers… are skeletal remains," he said softly.

They weren't the bones of a single creature, but of many—a graveyard wrought from countless divine monsters' remains, locking the realm shut like a barricade of ancestors.

Cai Lin's lovely eyes widened. "So this… is the Divine Burial Grounds…"

Before the vast burial site, they felt small—almost weightless before its immeasurable majesty.

Mo Yu nodded. "Without question."

He turned his head slightly, sensing faint spiritual ripples from afar. Dozens—no, hundreds of presences pulsed across the land. Dozens of powerful teams were gathering.

Han Yue exhaled slowly. "Word's definitely spread. It looks like half the forces of the Divine Beast Plains are converging here."

Mo Yu agreed. "The strongest clans probably didn't even bother hiding its existence. They know anyone too weak to survive won't make it out alive."

The Divine Burial Grounds would not tolerate greed without power. Only the strongest could claim its rewards.

"There," Mo Yu said suddenly, his eyes narrowing toward one section along the outer ridge where massive rocks jutted high into the air. "That's where everyone's gathering."

From the rippling energies concentrated there, it was clear that it served as the staging ground for the arriving teams.

Cai Lin and the others nodded, no one objecting.

The group sped off again, landing minutes later upon one of the rocky spires at the field's edge.

The sight before them made even Mo Yu pause.

From peak to peak, teams clustered across the terrain. Hundreds of figures stood in clear groups, separated yet watchful, each radiating extraordinary power.

Every one of them was strong. To reach the Divine Burial Grounds this quickly meant surviving the worst. Few ordinary factions could accomplish that.

Mo Yu scanned them quietly—then froze as his eyes reached the innermost rocks. There, like statues atop massive platforms, sat figures whose very presence made his skin tingle with instinctive warning.

"Those must be the apex clans," Han Yue whispered grimly. "The strongest of the spirit beast races."

Even he, proud as any Ximo warrior, couldn't hide his apprehension. If the rumors of divine inheritance or essence were true, those people would be the greatest contenders.

Mo Yu nodded faintly. His eyes caught a group nearby whose members bore jade-green pupils glowing faintly with light.

At their head sat a woman in flowing turquoise robes—her beauty ethereal, her aura serene yet sovereign, making her seem untouchable.

"That's the Forest Python Clan," Cai Lin said in a low voice. "Their bloodline is one of the noblest among the serpentine beasts—rivals of dragons and phoenixes in their prime."

Mo Yu remembered their reputation. Giants in their own right, though lesser-known than the divine Dragon or Phoenix Clans.

Then his gaze shifted again—to another platform where only three lean figures sat, each holding a simple stone staff. Their bodies were wiry, their eyes bright and fierce.

"The Heaven-Reaching Ape Clan," Mo Yu said under his breath.

This was no minor offshoot like the Shaking Sky Apes. The Heaven-Reaching Apes were a race of legends—the clan of the Great Ape King, one of the few late-stage Heavenly Supremes known to rival dragons and phoenixes.

The foremost of the three, clad in a yellow robe, suddenly turned his head. His sharp eyes locked on Mo Yu instantly, carrying subtle amusement and curiosity.

So keen a perception—he'd noticed Mo Yu's scrutiny the moment it began.

Mo Yu blinked in surprise, then nodded politely before looking away.

"What is it, big brother?" one of the thin apes asked, following his gaze toward Mo Yu.

"Nothing much," the yellow-robed man said with a smile, running a hand along his stone staff. "Just an interesting fellow."

"Interesting? Him?" the other whispered skeptically. "A newly advanced seventh-rank Supreme caught your attention?"

The yellow-robed man chuckled. "You've heard the rumors, haven't you? About the outsider who mastered the Heaven-Shaking Divine Arm?"

His companions stiffened. "You mean the one from the Shaking Sky Ape Clan? The human?"

He nodded, eyes glimmering. "That one. And I can feel the same flesh-born might coming from him."

He leaned forward, grinning with excitement. "It's been too long since I've seen that technique in action. If fate allows, I'd love to test it for myself."

His comrades shared a helpless glance—then looked at Mo Yu with pity.

Their leader was famed for his battle obsession. The others called him the Fighting Ape for a reason.

Elsewhere, Mo Yu's attention shifted toward another perch lined with lounging figures whose every movement exuded lazy confidence. Yet within that relaxation lay cutting sharpness, like blades disguised in silk.

"The Kunpeng Clan," Mo Yu whispered.

A race of unmatched speed and aerial might—one of the true apex divine lineages.

Among them, a single gray-haired youth sat cross-legged, seemingly ordinary among his peers, his aura faintly hidden. But Mo Yu could sense it—the calm, terrifying depth beneath his surface. That one was a true monster.

"There," Han Yue said, pointing toward another side. "That's the Celestial Crane Clan…"

Mo Yu's eyes traveled from group to group, heart sinking slightly. These were not ordinary prodigies—they were paragons who had been born to dominate, their very presence shaping the morale of those nearby.

In the circle of gathered forces, they had claimed all the best vantage points. None dared to challenge their supremacy.

As Mo Yu studied the final, foremost platform, a chill abruptly pierced the air.

He felt a heavy, bloodthirsty gaze spear through the distance, locking onto him. The faint scent of iron filled the winds.

Slowly, he raised his head.

Standing arrogantly upon the frontmost platform was the Blood Sky Jiao Clan. Their scarlet-haired warriors radiated heat and violence, but one among them stood motionless in a crimson robe, his eyes sharp as blades.

That man's gaze was fixed solely on Mo Yu—and when he spoke, the entire region seemed to freeze.

"I heard from Hei Yin Tian," the blood-robed man said, his tone glacial, "that it was you who claimed the Treasure Beast's inheritance."

The temperature dropped instantly.

Every nearby powerhouse turned their attention toward Mo Yu.
