Chapter 751: An External Avatar, The Divine Beast Body
Deep within the Thunder Prison.
A solitary peak stood tall, so high that it overlooked nearly half of the entire Thunder Prison. This was the place where the world's energy was at its densest and purest.
This location had been specially created over the past month by pooling together the Thunder Prison's manpower and resources for one purpose—to serve as Mo Yu's cultivation ground. He alone, the Warden, had the privilege to train here. The ordinary cultivators of Thunder Prison were forbidden from entering.
Mo Yu enjoyed this privilege immensely. After all, what were all the countless hours of cultivation for, if not for the sake of gaining access to power and resources others could only dream of?
At this moment, a stone chamber had been carved into the side of that great peak. Mo Yu stood before it, gazing at the thin mist surrounding the mountain, a satisfied smile emerging on his face.
This mist was the condensation of spiritual energy, proof of how pure and abundant it was in this area.
Clearly, an intricate network of spirit-gathering formations had been set around here to draw in the world's energy from across the Thunder Prison.
"What an excellent place for cultivation."
Mo Yu smiled, then turned toward the stone room, stepping inside. He sealed the entrance and sat cross-legged atop a stone bed.
With his legs folded, eyes closed, a faint glow emerged from the soul mark at his brow.
After a long silence, his eyes suddenly opened, and an invisible power burst out from his forehead. It quivered in the air, quickly shaping into a humanoid figure—one whose face and build were identical to Mo Yu's own.
This black-robed figure had dark eyes and a handsome face, exuding the same aura as Mo Yu himself.
Looking at the figure that mirrored him in every way except for the black eyes, Mo Yu smiled faintly. "Hello, my avatar."
The black-eyed youth also smiled. "Greetings, my true self."
Returning the greeting, Mo Yu nodded in satisfaction. This avatar had been created by transforming his soul projection cultivated back on the Dou Qi Continent. Though called an avatar, it was more accurately an external manifestation—an extension of himself capable of independent thought and cultivation.
Unlike ordinary clones that divide one's essence, this external avatar was closer to a high-level puppet that could act, fight, and train autonomously.
Creating such a being was no easy feat. Even with Mo Yu's talent, it had taken him twenty years on the Dou Qi Continent to evolve his soul projection into this avatar. Now, it was finally time to put it to use.
The idea had been inspired by one of the Thirty-Six Supreme Divine Techniques of the Great Thousand World—The One Qi into Three Pure Ones. Of course, Mo Yu's version was far less powerful. His avatar couldn't perfectly replicate his own strength, but if used properly, it still held tremendous potential.
"My true self, you summoned me to aid Cai Lin in the Primordial Beast Origin and help her acquire the bloodline of the Ancient Swallowing Python, didn't you? But you know my strength—perhaps I'm not quite up to the task…"
The avatar shrugged helplessly, smiling bitterly.
They shared the same memory, so the avatar instantly understood why he had been called forth.
However, since he wasn't a "One Qi Three Pure Ones" level clone, their power wasn't shared. When Mo Yu had reached the Dou Emperor realm and created this form, the avatar had stayed dormant within his soul sea. Currently, its strength was only equivalent to that of a first-grade Sovereign.
"I know," Mo Yu said with a nod. "But there are still two months before the Primordial Beast Origin opens. I intend to raise your strength to the seventh-grade Sovereign level—at least the sixth if possible."
The avatar frowned slightly. "Heh, that's just like my true self, always ambitious. But isn't that a bit too fast?"
The gap between a first-grade and seventh-grade Sovereign was immense. Most cultivators wouldn't cross it in decades, yet Mo Yu aimed to do it in two months.
"You may not possess my full strength," Mo Yu replied, "but your physical body is far beyond that of a normal Sovereign. As long as you have the proper resources, your advancement won't face many barriers.
This place is a cultivation paradise. I've prepared ten million drops of Supreme Spirit Liquid for you, and with my aid as a High Earth Sovereign, the time should just about suffice."
"Oh, if you've prepared everything, then let's proceed as planned. For Cai Lin's sake, I'll give it my all."
Despite being an avatar, his will and emotions were identical to Mo Yu's own. That was what gave Mo Yu complete confidence in entrusting him with Cai Lin's protection.
"Good. Prepare yourself first," Mo Yu instructed.
The avatar nodded and closed his eyes, his breathing steady as the surrounding energy condensed into mist, flowing into his body through his breath and pores.
Three days later, his eyes opened again, crystalline light now flickering in his once-black pupils as his spiritual power reached its peak.
"About ready…" he said softly.
Mo Yu nodded and flicked his finger. A stream of dazzling radiance roared forth and transformed into a boiling river of energy filling the chamber.
The river shimmered like liquid crystal, emitting dense spiritual essence so rich that the very air turned moist.
This was a river formed from one million drops of Supreme Spirit Liquid.
"Heh, as expected of my true self—such extravagance. This river alone should push me to at least the third or fourth grade."
Smiling, the avatar joined his hands in a seal and inhaled sharply. A torrent of energy surged into his mouth, exploding within him like a volcano.
The overwhelming energy rampaged wildly through his body, forcing a grimace of pain across his face. It wasn't easy for a first-grade Sovereign to refine the force contained in so much Spirit Liquid.
Mo Yu moved behind him, pressing his palm against his back. A faint sizzle echoed as lightning streamed into the avatar's body, helping to refine the energy.
Gradually, the avatar's expression steadied as the raging power came under control.
Exhaling, he guided the purified energy through his meridians, feeding it steadily into the sea of energy within him.
There, spiritual essence surged like a torrential storm, raising the surface level of his inner ocean rapidly.
Mo Yu watched quietly as the avatar entered a deep meditative state, refining power without pause for ten full days.
By the time he opened his eyes, the million drops of Spirit Liquid were gone. His skin glowed brilliantly, and the fluctuating energy around him hinted at power nearing its limit.
"Peak of Third-Grade Sovereign. Not bad," Mo Yu said with a smile.
The avatar chuckled. "After absorbing so much Spirit Liquid, staying stagnant would've been disappointing. Still, without your help refining it, I'd have exploded long ago."
"Your limit is far from reached. Continue," Mo Yu said evenly.
Nodding, the avatar replied, "Let's proceed."
Mo Yu flicked his finger again, releasing yet another radiant torrent that filled the stone chamber—this time formed from two million drops of Supreme Spirit Liquid.
With that, another round of cultivation began.
Time passed. Each time the avatar opened his eyes, his level rose again. Mo Yu supplied three million... then four million more drops.
A full month later, the once-raging river of four million drops had dwindled to a mere stream, its energy nearly exhausted.
Now the avatar glowed like a brilliant sun. The force radiating from his body made the entire cavern tremble, faint cracks creeping along the walls.
He inhaled sharply and swallowed the last of the Spirit Liquid in one breath.
A thunderous hum filled the chamber as surging energy erupted from his body, the ocean within him reaching its zenith.
The stone chamber trembled violently. Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, sensing the erupting power within the avatar—colossal for a being of his level.
Eventually, the fluctuations stabilized.
"Peak of Sixth-Grade Sovereign, huh…" Mo Yu murmured.
Though short of the seventh grade, that level was more than acceptable. The remaining Ancient Swallowing Python bloodline contenders were only seventh-grade Sovereigns anyway, and Mo Yu had always excelled at surpassing realms—even through his avatar.
The avatar opened his eyes slowly, feeling the surge within him. "Peak of Sixth-Grade Sovereign… still a bit short of seventh," he said.
Mo Yu shook his head. "It's enough. I can feel that your current body has reached its limit. Forcing a breakthrough now would harm your foundation—it's not worth it."
He wanted his external avatar refined to perfection, just as in the original tales where Mu Chen had divided his strength among multiple bodies, each cultivating a supreme art. Mo Yu had similar ambitions and would not risk damaging this hard-earned creation.
The avatar nodded. "Understood."
Then, as if remembering something, he looked up at Mo Yu. "My true self, this body doesn't seem to carry your Heavenly Gang Thunder Physique. What path of cultivation should I follow?"
Mo Yu was a master of lightning arts, so naturally one would expect his avatar to follow the same path. But lacking the thunder physique, it would be much harder.
After a short pause, Mo Yu replied slowly, "You won't be cultivating the way of lightning."
"Oh? Then what do you mean?" the avatar asked curiously.
Mo Yu smiled. "The Divine Beast Body—that will be your path."
