Chapter 749: News of Cai Lin
As the three fleeing Upper Earth Sovereigns of the Ziyun Sect vanished into the horizon, silence blanketed the plaza.
Everyone stood in awe of the silver-eyed man radiating overwhelming presence—whether they were outside spectators or Thunder Prison's own powerhouses.
Zhong Cang and his peers were equally shaken.
When the six great powers of the Bloodrock Realm first merged under Mo Yu's leadership, none of them truly accepted him in their hearts. They had bowed only to his overwhelming might and because they needed him to purge the Outer Evil corruption from their bodies.
But deep down, they had all felt resentment. Mo Yu came from a lower world; his reputation was shallow, his roots weak. How could someone like that command their allegiance just because he was strong?
Yet all that dissatisfaction completely vanished the moment they saw Mo Yu use three Upper Earth Sovereigns as playthings—beating them around like sandbags.
Only now did they understand—this young man's strength and potential were far beyond comprehension.
Born from a lower plane, yet rising so quickly to the level of an Upper Earth Sovereign—and wielding power greater than most seasoned ones. It was terrifying to imagine what he would become once he reached Earth Sovereign Perfection or even Heaven Sovereign.
To serve such a man as their Prison Lord… truly, they had grasped a powerful thigh to cling to.
After all, with their modest strength, even if they sought refuge under some super faction backed by a Heaven Sovereign, they would never be taken seriously. A Lower Earth Sovereign there was merely a mid-level existence at best.
With Mo Yu's potential, the small Bloodrock Realm obviously couldn't contain him. Someday, he might dominate an entire region—or even, like the greatest powers of this world, forge his Thunder Prison into a renowned super force across the Great Thousand World.
And when that day came, they would look back and bless their luck—for having joined Thunder Prison from its birth.
Their eyes all turned toward Mo Yu, filled with reverence and hope. From this moment forward, he was their true master.
It wasn't just Zhong Cang and the others; the many forces now under Thunder Prison's banner likewise felt complete submission. Their young, little-known lord had proven himself through absolute power—something none could dispute.
In the Great Thousand World, renown and wealth were fleeting. Only strength was truth—and Mo Yu had displayed it, earning every ounce of their loyalty.
"From this day onward, Thunder Prison shall stand as a sovereign force of its own," Mo Yu's calm yet thunderous voice rolled across the sky. "We will never bow to any other power. Any who harbor such ambitions—snuff them out now!"
"LONG LIVE THE PRISON LORD!"
"LONG LIVE THE PRISON LORD!"
...
As his voice faded, waves of ecstatic roars exploded across the plaza, a chorus so thunderous it shook the heavens.
Every heart burned with conviction. Before this day, Thunder Prison's future was uncertain—many had feared it would collapse before it even grew roots. But Mo Yu's words fell like a stabilizing pillar, dispelling those doubts instantly.
Far away, the fleeing Zi Tianbei and his companions heard the cheers. Shame and rage twisted their faces. Who would have imagined that three Upper Earth Sovereigns of the Ziyun Sect could be humiliated—defeated by a mere newly advanced Sovereign? Their disgrace was total.
Their fury, however, was quickly suppressed by the unstable surge of spiritual power within them, provoked by that haunting thunder hum. With grim faces, they fled toward the Ziyun Sect in humiliation.
...
The grand founding of Thunder Prison sent shockwaves across both the Bloodrock Realm and the Northern Region of the Tianluo Continent. But after that unprecedented event, things quickly calmed down.
To many forces' surprise, Thunder Prison did not expand aggressively afterward. Instead, it settled quietly, consolidating within the Bloodrock Realm as though content to guard its territory. Those watching anxiously in secret finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After presiding over Thunder Prison's establishment and driving off the Ziyun Sect envoys, Mo Yu retreated fully into seclusion, leaving all administrative matters to the Feng Emperor.
A month later, deep within Thunder Prison's mountains—
Atop a tall peak, Mo Yu sat cross-legged. Vast spiritual light swirled around him like a sea. Behind him stood a towering thunderous figure—his Heavenly Gang Law Body—breathing in and out torrents of spiritual energy like a storm tide, so dense that thunder echoed faintly across heaven and earth.
Mo Yu's cultivation continued until dawn. Then his eyes slowly opened. Twin beams of blazing silver light shot forth, tearing rifts through the sky before fading away. The giant thunder phantom behind him shuddered gently, then dissolved.
Sensing the disappearance of the Heavenly Gang Law Body, Mo Yu's eyes gleamed faintly. He could feel that after absorbing the power of the Netherworld Heart Demon Thunder, his Law Body had grown significantly stronger.
It seemed devouring powerful forms of lightning could further augment the Law Body's might.
"Your Heavenly Gang Law Body grows more formidable by the day," came a familiar voice.
Mo Yu turned to see the Feng Emperor approaching slowly, gazing at the lingering traces of thunder with astonishment.
Mo Yu smiled lightly. "Elder Qing flatters me. There are always greater heavens beyond the sky and stronger men beyond me. Compared to the true peak powers, my Law Body is still nothing special."
He rose, stretching lazily. Turning to the Feng Emperor, he chuckled. "I presume you didn't come here just to compliment me."
"Hehe, our Prison Lord seems more like a hands-off ruler. You've left me to handle everything myself—my old bones are about to fall apart," the Feng Emperor said, smiling wryly. But then his tone turned serious. "Still, there are indeed matters to report."
"Thank you, Elder Qing," Mo Yu said sheepishly.
Because both hailed from the Dou Qi Continent, Mo Yu trusted him implicitly. Without that trust, he would never have delegated so much authority.
The Feng Emperor shook his head with a helpless smile. "As you instructed, I've sent word to establish contact with the Fish Intestine family of the Ten-Thousand Armament Continent."
"Our allies there are responding positively. Clan Chief Fish Intestine Yuan has already dispatched core members to the Tianluo Continent. Within half a year, their entire family will relocate to Thunder Prison's domain and become part of our faction."
Mo Yu nodded. The Fish Intestine Clan was a powerful forging family he had subdued earlier. Now that Thunder Prison stood established, it was time to bring them fully under his banner.
"They've journeyed far to join us. We shouldn't treat them poorly. From today, a separate Divine Armory Hall will be founded under Thunder Prison, with Fish Intestine Yuan as its first master," Mo Yu said.
"The Prison Lord is wise," the Feng Emperor quipped with an amused smile before continuing. "Also, we've successfully established representatives on the Thunderclap Continent, as you ordered."
"However," his voice grew grave, "that land is vast and crawling with powerful forces. Thunder Prison's sudden involvement there may prove premature."
Mo Yu knew his concern and didn't hide his intent. "Elder Qing, do you know what technique I used to defeat those three Ziyun Sect Sovereigns?"
The Feng Emperor blinked in thought, then said, "It was… the Netherworld Heart Demon Thunder?"
"Indeed. The signature thunder art of the Heart Demon Thunder Emperor—one of the ancient Nine Emperors," Mo Yu replied with a faint smile.
"So it truly was that technique… It seems you gained remarkable rewards from the Thunder Saint's secret realm," the Feng Emperor said, eyes widening, his voice tinged with admiration.
Mo Yu chuckled. "Yes. I obtained the Netherworld Heart Demon Thunder there—and met the remaining consciousness of the Thunder Saint himself. He revealed something else to me… about the ruins of the Ancient Thunder Palace."
"The… Ancient Thunder Palace Ruins?"
The Feng Emperor's face changed instantly, turning solemn.
The Ancient Thunder Palace was one of the Great Thousand World's true superpowers in antiquity, and its master—the Heart Demon Thunder Emperor—had been among the mightiest beings of that age.
When the Outer Evil Clan invaded, the Ancient Thunder Palace fell alongside the Heavenly Palace, disappearing without trace. Its ruins became a legendary mystery.
And now Mo Yu claimed to know of its existence. No wonder the Feng Emperor was astonished.
"Prison Lord, you mean… our infiltration of the Thunderclap Continent is for the ruins?" the Feng Emperor asked, his voice trembling.
The Heart Demon Thunder Emperor's dominion had once spanned the Thunderclap Continent. Its untold treasures and divine arts had long lured countless forces.
If Mo Yu truly found those ruins and inherited even a fraction, Thunder Prison could ascend to true superpower status.
"Exactly," Mo Yu said calmly. "The Thunderclap Continent was once the Ancient Thunder Palace's seat of power. Its ruins lie there still."
"We must plant our roots early. When the struggle for those relics begins, Thunder Prison will already hold the advantage."
In truth, the palace's existence was no complete secret, but centuries of searching by great powers had yielded nothing. No one ever found its hidden domain.
Yet Mo Yu had clues—and the Silver Tower from the Thunder Saint—giving him both direction and determination.
"I see," said the Feng Emperor gravely. "Then leave the early preparations to me. Fortunately, that continent lacks Heaven Sovereigns, though there is one concern—the Thunder God Palace."
"The Thunder God Palace…" Mo Yu whispered, his expression tightening slightly.
That force was the descendant of the Ancient Thunder Palace. Though far weaker than its predecessor, it still reigned supreme on the Thunderclap Continent.
If Mo Yu's guess was right, its first Palace Lord may well have been a disciple of the Heart Demon Thunder Emperor—one of the Thunder Saint's senior brothers.
If so, the Thunder God Palace likely possessed one of the Silver Towers and knowledge of the ruins' mysteries.
The palace's current master was said to have reached half a step into the Heaven Sovereign realm—strong enough to battle a true Heaven Sovereign by relying on the perfected Heart Demon State.
Such power meant that in the coming contest over the ruins, the Thunder God Palace would be Thunder Prison's most formidable rival.
"For now," Mo Yu said firmly, "avoid conflict with them or any native forces. Just establish bases quietly. And as for the ruins, only you and I will know. No one else—not yet."
He didn't yet fully trust Feng Yuanzi, Zhong Cang, or the others. Secrets of this magnitude had to remain contained.
"Understood," the Feng Emperor said, nodding after a pause. He too knew that loyalty still needed time to settle.
"Prison Lord, if you don't trust our current ranks, perhaps you should bring your subordinates from the Dou Qi Continent here. With their talent and loyalty, they'd be valuable assets," the Feng Emperor suggested.
He knew Mo Yu had two major forces there—the Yuan Mansion and the Thunder Clan. Though not powerful by Great Thousand standards, their talent matched or exceeded most, and with proper training, they could be a competent core for Thunder Prison.
Mo Yu's gaze turned thoughtful, but after a moment, he shook his head.
"Not yet. Once I obtain the Ancient Thunder Palace's relics, I'll summon them. The palace's resources will allow them to adapt to this world's cultivation level."
The Feng Emperor pondered, then nodded in agreement. That approach made sense.
Thunder Prison was still young; suddenly introducing outsiders could breed resentment. But once Mo Yu had the resources to support all, no one could object.
Both the Yuan Mansion and the Thunder Clan held vast numbers of outstanding disciples. With the Ancient Thunder Palace's inheritance, Mo Yu could raise an entire generation of loyal experts—and place them across Thunder Prison's key positions.
By then, the current elders' influence would fade away like smoke.
The Feng Emperor couldn't help but smile in admiration at Mo Yu's foresight. As he prepared to take his leave, the communication talisman at his waist flickered.
Retrieving it, he scanned the message—then froze, his expression lighting up with surprise and joy. Turning to Mo Yu, he said excitedly:
"Prison Lord! The scouts report news of Lady Cai Lin!"
