Chapter 402 - Strange Developments

A slight knock came from the Galley Door. Leroy and Raven were sitting at the table, one was in the midst of a book while the other was putting together a figure model, both looked up with a query. "Uh, come in?"

The door opened slowly, and the Skeleton Eddie came into the room, his height leaving very little clearance from the ceiling. "Pardon the Interruption, but I can'thelp but be curious." His eyes shifted to raven "Ma'am, are you a scholarly individual?"

A slight smile came across her black lipstick lips, hands gently closing the book "Yes, I am indeed. I'm the crews resident Scholar and Archeologist. Is there something you need?" She asked with courtesy. "You two are so formal."

Leroy said as he put down the mid construction figure and leaned back in the chair, kicking his feet up "I may be well known for my loud riffs, and causing as much noise as possible. But I pride myself in my ability to have a duality to my person."

He pulled back a chair and sat down. "I have been away for a very long time. Everything, even on this ship, is totally new to my eyes." Eddie continued, putting his hands on the table "And the itching for knowledge is scratching away at my skull."

"Ask away." Raven said with invested eyes, resting her hands clasped together on the wood.

"Okay. First, before I ask about everything I've missed. There's been something that has been on my mind for decades. Just how did humans spread to so many Islands? When I was growing up, I was taught that the world is only 10,000 years old. And that Humans came from the Red Line, birthed in a way from the Gods up there to spread word and live their lives in serving them."

"But in my culture on my fathers Side, theres stories of land bridges that connected the Lands between one another for great exoduses across the world." He spoke plainly and truthfully

"Your Culture?" Leroy asked, Raven intrigued as well. "Oh– Yes. I am a Half-Giant. I'm sure my boney appearance doesn't give that impression. My Father was a Giant, and My Mother…She was an angel. She had glorious wings of feathers…."

"I had them when I was younger. But– They were removed for suspension or something."

"Fascinating" Raven said, leaning forward slightly. "Well, to answer your question. Theres been a few theories recently. One that was popularized…" Her eyes wandered "40 years ago suggested that our world is not exactly 10,000 years old.

And modern civilization did not begin 1,721 years ago. But is much, much older."

Even in a world with the concept of Dinosaurs being popular, it was a heated debate just how old these creatures were. Some said they were the first creatures on the planet 10,000 years ago. Others imagined to be far far older

"The Hypothesis posits that because of the slow growth of mountains, and the slow rise in the seas, that our world is closer to millions, perhaps billions of years old. And that at one point, over 10,000 years ago, the world was frozen in a blanket of ice. And this allowed our ancestors, who in this theory were not from the Red Line but naturally came from the world over a long development process–"

"Traveled the world and spread across the frozen seas, before settling on the various islands in the blues. And from there, the world dethawed leaving behind the sea that we know now."

"After that, it's well documented that long ago the Age of Sail came about and allowed connection all over the world." Raven said, content in her answer and resting her face on her hand

Eddies face was left in a agast state. Leaving the air open for a few moments before beginning to speak "Wow. I must say, that is a hell of an answer"

Hours Previously

Barbary stomped around his armory. It was a fine room with the walls laden with weapons and armor. His own personal collection. From armors with scales like that of lizards, to that made of chain and other metals, to the walls paved with displayed swords, maces, spears and the like. All made in such away that would inflict the most pain possible.

A woman opened the door, Dressed in tight torn jeans and a clinging purple shirt with a large eye on the front. Her eyes were restful, hair deep black and cut short, reaching just to her neck with mild waves of messy hair throughout. She wore golden earrings, one in each lobe and two on the ridges of each ear.

Her flats echoed as she approached the large man "Lord Barbary." She spoke in a sullen voice. "Speak, Miru."

"My eyes have spotted the Red Sashes Crew, they've just entered the south eastern sector." Her eyes avoided Barbary as he turned, holding a large golden colored double headed axe. The metal emblazoned with a skull in the middle. His thumb flicked against its edge, testing its sharpness. It gave a satisfying 'shink' with the slight reverb of the metal.

"South East…" Barbary picked up a twin axe and hung both of them from the side of his belt. "Thats where that old ship that the excess Soldiers were acquired…" He nodded his head.

"Okay." His large fatty hand stroked the thin mustache that hung below his chin. "Get the Word down to Revi and Alma. Its about time we ready the other corpses. I can't take the chance of them overwhelming any of us."

"Those Corpses, Lord?" She asked with a tone of curiosity

"Yes. They've been left dead long enough. It's high time they get to taste the experience of battle again." He said as he began to stomp forward to leave the room and board the ship
