"They cut every single tree. Every single one. Uprooted. And then demolished every home. After that? They salted the wound. Nothing on this island can grow. Not even grass can survive for very long before drying up."
She let out another sigh, letting her shoulders hang. "Poch, Oko, LeBau and I. We had a grudge. A Vendetta."
"We declared war on the world. It doesn't matter to me. No matter who it was. I wanted to play my game, with any and everyone. Make sure that they felt our pain. Felt my pain. Even if they died. I wanted what they had."
With a snap of her fingers. The barriers around the archipelago disappeared. And the dice and cups fizzled out of existence.
"Falcon D. Leroy. You are free to go. You won your encounter with the High Roller pirates. Take the Devil Spawn with you and leave."
Leroy rose to his feet. And licked his lips. Deciding what to do. For a moment, his emotions were conflicted.
"Stand up." He gestured with his finger. Mary took a moment to do so as she looked to the man
"You killed people. For no reason, stripped them just as you were stripped of your own…"
Thwack! Leroys fist suddenly slammed into Marys face! Sending her topping and flying into the far wall!
"Gah! Damnit! Fuck!" She said, holding her cheek as it began to swell.
"But. If it means a thing to you. I've probably stolen just as much as you. So, I forgive you. But it's not mine to give. The only way to make up is to forgive yourself. Do better with your life than this."
"If you're gonna be a pirate. Be a pirate. Don't just play at it."
"What the f-" Mary began to exclaim only for Leroy to continue
"Hell. You could join my crew. Heheh. You have a far better chance that way. And it gives you time to make up for it!"
He said walking over to her, and reaching out a hand.
"Sorry. About your house…"
Marys eyes were filled with a confliction that was palpable. She didn't know what the hell to think about this, strange, strange man in front of her. Why did he care if she was a killer? If she, did better? Or actually took this whole pirate business seriously instead of just preying on random people that stumbled on the island.
The truth was. Leroy, really didn't. But he hated seeing the pain that she carried. He could tell she wasn't some crazed killer. Just, someone who was hurt.
She took his hand.
"You can come out now…" She said, as a man walked from the shadow of one of the rooms off to the side, where a wing still partially remained.
Out walked a man, with a thin sharp face, a sharp long nose, and a mullet of black hair running down his neck. A Scar on his cheek, a pair of square wire rim sunglasses.
"This is Jong. He was the one that Teleported your friends away."
"You were in there that entire?" Leroy cocked a brow
Giving a sniff, Jong pushed his glasses up and wiped tears from his eyes. "Yeah…"
"I uh. I usually stick away in the shadows of the others. Do some of the theatrics with low level magic. And well- Teleport people away."
Jong explained that he had set up circles around the entrance of the house. Big enough for a group. And with that sigil he could teleport anyone to another he had previously set up. Which is how he was able to make it seem that the Dice were the ones to do it.
"I'll bring your friends back…"
A Few minutes later, and after getting the crew to bring the injured High Rollers back. They were back at the house. A quiet, pensive feeling in the air as everyone gave slight looks to one another.
"So. You gonna join Leroy?" Kirk asked the Blonde.
"No." She shook her head as she watched Jong stitch up and bangade the others.
"But. I've made my decision…"
"From now on. The High Roller pirates will actually try and do something with what we've got. I've gotta pay for what I've done. What we've done."
Raven wiped her eye, and, in a strange action. Suddenly embraced Mary in a hug. "I'm sorry…I'm so sorry for what happened here."
She held Mary by the shoulders, still filled with grief as she looked away, rolling her shoulder to knock her hands from them
"I knew I recognized you, Devil Spawn." Mary spoke, looking away.
Raven flinched at the name. "As did I. I just wish I got to experience this place more when it was how it was, before."
"Yeah." Mary looked back to Raven, her eyes holding a slight glint of enjoyment. "I wish you did too."
"You all should get out of her now. We'll all be going too." The High Roller Captain finished.
Kirk looked to his wrist. If this hadn't been wringly. It would've taken 8 hours to relock. But given that they were. The time they'd spent on the island was enough for it to lock onto another Island.
"Yeah. We're locked onto the next Island." Kirk stated.
"Water 9." Mary said with a slight smile. "Good luck. You may just see some ships there made of Wringly Lumber."
It wasn't long after that, that the Red Sash pirates loaded onto the ship, went through the motions of lowering the sails, and raising the Capstain before embarking off onto the next island
In total. They had only been there for an Hour and 20 minutes.
Next! They were on too the Ship Capital of the World! Canale Di Agua, Water 9!
