Chapter 292 - The Final Hand! Crack The Liar!

Raven bit her lip, hands gripping her palms tightly as she stood alone in a field. Barren, cracked earth, dried grass. Like it had been sun baked, just like the rest of this strange unknown Island.

"I'm so sorry…" She tried to compose herself. Despite having been with the crew for such a short amount of time, she'd come to feel so accepted by them. A random act of kindness by the Captain in the midst of a Collapse where she'd expected to truly perish.

And now, seeing even the fraction of the pain that a single person on that crew. She just couldn't handle it.

Seeing all the other fight, while she was left alone. Not only confused her, but made those feelings escalate. Why did they have to fight tooth and nail, while she was left alone?

Returning to the Game that was taking place after the other Crew Members had finished their 'Bids' and 'Games'. The Tensions were high, to Leroy, his life story was a valuable thing. Something that he held dear. He wasn't one to dwell on it. But it's what lead him to who he was

‎

"One 1" Leroy began. Slow, methodical

"Three 2's" Mary immediately matched with a safe bid

Leroy lifted his cup to reveal the Dice he held. Three 5's, One 3, One Four

"Four 4's…" Leroy took a risky move, upping face and bid.

Mary then pulled her own up, One 2, Two 4's, Two 5's.

"Three 5's." The Likelihood of 1 in 30.. Leroy wasn't going to calculate that likelihood, but he could feel that it was such a low Likelihood she had that amount. But knowing he had just that amount. He could raise safely.

Leroy Thought to himself.

'There's a chance that she too has at least One 5. If I bid Four 5's. She could very well call me a liar. But that means victory falls right into my lap. But-'

'She could be seeing how I respond to estimate just what I have. If I up the bid, it could tell her that I have 5's. But if I change the Face, she ups it, and then go back to 5's…I could strategically juke her out Into calling me a Liar…It's an enormous risk.'

An Enormous risk indeed. But something he was willing to take, he wanted to figure out just where they were. And if they wanted to leave, he had to win.

"Six 4's." Leroy confidently said, looking under his cup to play up the bluff.

Six 4's across the entire table. There was currently only Four 4's on the Table.

This was a 1.56% Chance. One in 64 games to ever Happen.

"You're bluffing." Mary leaned forward, a snarky grin on her lips as she looked Leroy up and down.

But Leroy simply Kept that light smirk on his face. Eyes hardened, looking back into her eyes.

'The Chance of Six 4's is astronomical. But that look. He could be bluffing, I could call that bluff, and figure out what makes this guy tick…'

For the slightest moment, she bit the inside of her lip

'I have to know…All the others I've faced would've already offered up a material good, or better yet risk their entire crew to me. And yet, he's still wagering only Information! Information!'

'There's a Chance he isn't bluffing though. Where I lose that chance. And have to tell him…Knowing him, that's what he wants. And I'll be damned to give him that satisfaction!'

'Besides…If I tell him. I lose my advantage. And anything that could be used as a Wager when it comes to upping the value of it…How ever. There is still- That.'

'I know he at least has a 5. And a 2. Anything else could be under that cup…'

'Three 5's'

'Three 6's

'Three 1's…'

'I've got it.'

"Seven 4's." She gazed at Leroy. Such a hefty, and risky bid. If she got called a Liar now, he'd win. But she wanted to catch him in it. Force it out of him

Seven 4's was a 0.047% Chance.

Her gaze was steely, lids heavy.

Leroy matched it and Leaned forward.

"Five 5's."

‎

Mary's brow furrowed, her lips curling as she looked him up and down

The Chances of Five 5's was more than Seven 4's . But, this far into the game? Everything that he'd bet so far? It went against everything that Mary had guessed and was betting on.

Out of a Nervous tick, she began to clench and unclench her fist. Knuckles popping as she then put her thumb against the middle knuckle of her index, loudly cracking each of her fingers.

'She's losing her composure.' Leroy thought. His head leaned forward.

Leaning back, the captain cracked his neck from side to side, interlocking his fingers and cracking them forward, only to stretch backwards and kick his feet up on the table. Hands resting behind his head

‎

'This fuck…' Mary thought as she could feel her body flex and stiffen. Thinking through all the possibilities.

'I have to know, I have to know! What makes this bastard so cocky?! So Confident that he'll win! Is he insane?!'

Why would he suddenly change face back to something that was already bet? It isn't against our rules, but if he clearly has less than that amount, he must be betting on the fact that I've been bluffing this entire time!'

'Or that I may total his dice to Five 5's. He seemed so confident in that Six 4 bet. He's good. Or maybe, he's just lucky…'

'But he could very well be wanting to be called a liar, baiting me into it. And I can feel it. But- The chance that he's not Lying. He's telling the total truth is whats throwing me through a loop!'

"Okay, okay. I see you. I see what you're doing." Mary said as a strand of her hair fell in front of her face.

"You're bluffing. You're not dumb enough to risk all that, go through all those hands. Just to trip me out." Mary's voice was quiet, sullenly serious as she squinted her gaze

"Am I?" Leroy asked, tilting his head to the Side. "If I am. Call it! Call me a Liar!"

Knocking his feet off the table and leaning forward, he crossed his arms

"It's not dumb to take a risk if you're confident in its success. Risks are only stupid if you don't think about them."

Mary bit her lip hard. Breaking fully her composure as she slammed her fist on the table!

"Falcon D. Leroy! You are a Liar!" She lunged forward, and lifted the cup.

‎

Her eyes shook as she fell back into her seat. Sweat drenching her brow, hand smacking into her forehead.

"Haha…Dokoko!" She began laughing, a deep guttural coarse laugh like a wheeze.

"Dokokokoko!" She laughed even harder, leaning back in her chair as everyone on the island could hear her near manic bout of chuckling, hands clapping together

Leroys own laugh suddenly joined in, at a point earlier into the game, it would've startled and confused her, but now. It was two people sharing a hearty laugh "Hahahah!"

"You…" She smiled wide, head shaking from side to side. "Who-ho-ho. Ha!"

"You got me!" Her hands roughly hit the table, sliding into her lap as she pulled a handkerchief from her pocket. Wiping the sweat from her brow.

"You win!"
