Chapter 263 - Final Resting Place

The Crew was guided by Apponiv once more through the fields. Taking the same mode of travel that hadn't been spoken of when the Crew first initially made their way to the Thiya Jungle two and Half weeks ago.

A wingson flew through the air, with a Carriage known as a Tatonka that was levitating using wind Limareels carried the crew through the white plains.

Apponiv had said that these Carriages can fly about 25 Pipecan in only half an hour.

Meaning it took only half an hour or just a bit more for the Carriage to reach the destination that Apponiv was leading the group to.

With a smooth landing, the Carriage landed, and the Crew got out. They were, almost in the middle of nowhere. They couldn't see Thiya, nor could they even see Cahoderia from where they were.

"Where are we Appon?" Leroy asked, covering his brow, straining his eyes to try and search the horizon to no avail. "Come around the carriage and See. I'm sure you guys will be leaving after tonights Celebration, so I wanted to make sure that you guys saw this before you left."

The sun hung above the Crew. Gently cascading over about to cross bellow clouds in only a mere few hours. The breeze gently wooshed through the white blades of sky grass, giving the crew a since of serenity as they all walked around the Carriage to look at something

Glorious.

The Crew were at the Very Eastern edge of the Island. Where not even the White sea Bordered them, and just mere meters from the edge of the drop that lead to over a dozen kilometers down. Was a mighty statue.

At 5 meters tall, and etched from glorious fine materials, the best that the Skyderians could acquire a top the Sky Islands. Was the Visage of Galvar. Shoulders bravely squared off, weapons that he had fashioned himself at his side, as his gaze was pointed in the direction to the south, or from the angle of the crew. East.

His eyes held a look of completion, satisfaction, and accomplishment on them. Even with such a hard stare.

"Woah." Leroy spoke. Soaking it in. "Today just keeps getting better and better huh?"

"Was this where he passed?" Kirk asked. Looking up to the wide large wings of the Statue.

"Yes. The End of the Story that Aowga told you, was also when Coatl said that he was found dead. He was left staring at the sunrise, but when Coatl returned, he was found standing. Facing the City that he helped free and found."

A Chill was sent down the backs of the crew as they heard the words. "He, died standing?" Raven asked.

"Apparently. Even at such an old age, it seems his will allowed him to die with a dignity that not many since could be allowed to say that they too did the same."

Aponiv then Pointed to the inscription on the stone block that the Statue stood on

It read as follows: Galvar, the Man that Set Us Free. Stood Tall for us, even in the End.'

"What a Guy, Huh?" Leroy said as he, just soaked in the view. A slight smile came over his face.

"Apponiv?"

"Yes?"

"You mind if I leave something here? It's for a friend." Leroy asked as he reached into the backpack he wore, holding the object tightly

The Warrior Chief thought for a moment. Usually, leaving something behind was temporary. But, as a way to celebrate a friend from what the Chief thought, he eventually nodded. Giving Captain permission.

"Sorry it Took so long." Leroy said as he looked at Lantis' Glasses. Taking a moment to admire them for a moment before letting them have a final resting place where their owner had always wanted to go. The slight scratches on the glass, the bends in the frame. The smudges.

Leroy gently placed the Glasses just in front of the Statue. So that the lenses could shine the light of the Dawn everyday. "But, you made it here in the end."

"You not worried about rain or wind knocking them down?" Noir asked.

"Winds always gentle up here. And you won't have to worry about rain since rain comes from below us."

"Thank you, Apponiv." Leroy smiled to the Chief as the crew looked at their finished mission. The lenses of the Glasses shining the afternoon son, ever so slightly. "And thank you. Lantis."

Time passed. And the Tatonka carried them back to the City of Cahoderia. It felt almost nostalgic being in the city again, even if it had been only close to three weeks.

The Crew unloaded their supplies from the back of the Caravan, Raven sprouting her Hands to carry most of it while some of the others watched as the outer limits of Cahorderia was being set up for the celebration. Tents, stands, stalls. And one giant pile of wood that was being built for a bonfire in the middle of it all. A few trees scattering the area around it all.

A few cheers and claps sounded out from some of the Skyderians as they noticed the Crew. What a strange feeling it was. They were pirates, and yet here they were being cheered on by a group of people for winning a game that usually only ever included themselves.

"Go on and get Ready. You'll be announced as proper victors later tonight." The crew all agreed that they should go visit the Palm, take a few showers, get ready, and put all of their supplies away since they'd practically stripped the ship of 25% of its supplies for the long stay away from it.

Eventually the crew made their way back to Horizons Palm. Carlos and Atoni were sat in front of it. The larger of the two knocking the other awake as the crew approached. "Hey! We just heard!"

"Congratulation you guys." Even though both Carlos and Atoni had a bit of a heated rivalry with their Seafaring counterparts. They had a strong since of Sportsmanship engraved into them, for times like this. "We left her just as you did. No one tried bothering it except for a few people who wanted to just look at it."

"Thank You, you two." Leroy and Kirk said in unison
