Odelia wanted to ask him why he said those words to the butler, but seeing the cold expression on his face, she shut her mouth and tried to heave herself on the bed in an attempt to get up.
"What are you doing?" Don Gardner asked the woman, realizing what she was up to.
"The pain is manageable now, so I think it would be best to go downstairs and check on Martin. I'm sure he's been concerned since I didn't arrive as expected," she answered.
"Don't move. Must I tie you up before you realize the severity of the matter?" He asked through clenched teeth. 'Didn't she care about her health? Why did she treat her own body like that?'
Odelia didn't want to agitate him anymore after hearing his threat. She had no idea why he was acting this way, but it was comforting to know that he truly cared about her. 'Did it mean she could win his trust? Could it be that somewhere in his heart there was a place for her?' She wondered, thinking how nice it would be if they were always like this.
