Dongfang Xi alighted from the plane and followed after the three men with leisurely footsteps.
"Xiaoxi, are you sure you're fine walking on your own? How about I hold your hand?" Xiao Jue looked back at her with a worried expression.
"No need." Dongfang Xi's lips couldn't help but twitch upon hearing his words. "I'm not a child."
"But still, it's your first time coming to the capital after all. And with so many people scurrying about, what if you got separated from us and got lost?"
"Surely not. And if I do get separated from you, I'll just stay in place and wait for you to find me."
"Oh." Xiao Jue pursed his lips and turned his head away.
Dongfang Xi "..." Nope! She didn't hear that obvious disappointment in his tone just now. Definitely did not!
Dongfang Xi shuddered.

She really didn't want another one to add into the mix.

She really couldn't blame him for worrying so much.
After all, he didn't know much about her. Nor did he know of the fact that she was no stranger to the capital since she used to drop by a lot these past few years in order to complete some tasks.
However, she didn't intend to tell him any of these.
Walking for a while longer, they soon arrived in front of an inconspicuous black car situated not far from the exit.
"Well, I'm off then. I won't accompany you any longer." Mu Feng waved his hand. "Xiaoxi, if you have time in the future, remember to drop by at my house. The head chef I've hired can be considered as one of the best in the capital."
"Sure. I definitely will."
Dongfang Xi waved at him and followed her father into the new car before casting her gaze at the bespectacled man sitting on the driver's seat in front.
The man turned back and greeted her with a smile. "Welcome back, Eldest Miss."
"Mmn. Thank you Uncle Cheng. My father told me to call you if I ever needed anything. I hope you won't find me a bother when the time comes."
"Not at all." Assistant Cheng laughed. "It would be my honor."
There was no longer any need for introduction between them since a few hours ago while they were on the plane, Xiao Jue had already briefed her regarding the important people around him and who she should look for if ever the need arises.
"How's my wife's condition right now?" Xiao Jue asked.
Before they boarded the plane, he asked Assistant Cheng to go to Xiao's Villa along with the family's private doctor to inform the rest of the family regarding the swapping incident and the fact that he had already found his missing daughter.
After all, he couldn't just go straight home with Dongfang Xi in tow. Otherwise, people might think that the famous wife-obsessed President Xiao actually went fooling around and even brought back an illegitimate daughter.
As such, he can only make ample preparations to avoid unsavoury rumors from spreading.
However, speaking of this matter, Assistant Cheng's expression turned exceptionally solemn.
"What's wrong? Was the situation so serious? Did she faint? How is she feeling now?"
Xiao Jue couldn't help but panic more and more with each passing second, his hands clenched into fists with his breathing erratic.
Quite a shocking sight considering his public image as a cold, domineering president. However, the two people sitting on the front seats had long been used to his antics of losing all reason when it came to his wife while the one sitting beside him remained impassive as she silently listened to the report being given by the people she sent to monitor the Xiao family when she first departed from the countryside through her earpiece.
"Master, please calm down. Nothing happened at all."
"...Nothing?"
"Yes. Madam was quite calm at that time. When I left the villa to fetch you at the airport, she was sitting in the living room while drinking a cup of tea."
"That's good." Xiao Jue breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as his wife is well, nothing else matters.
However, upon seeing Xiao Jue's relieved expression, Assistant Cheng silently lit a candle for him in his heart.

Meanwhile, sitting beside him, Dongfang Xi took off her earpiece in boredom and directed her gaze at the scenery outside the car window.

The car abruptly stopped in it's tracks as Assistant Cheng subconsciously stepped on the brakes in response to her shout.
"Old man, I think I just saw an acquaintance back there. You guys go on without me. I'll be home before dark!" Dongfang Xi anxiously untied her seatbelt and bolted out of the car, leaving all three men to gape at her departing back, unable to react at the sudden turn of events.
Running back to the place where she saw that familiar silhouette, Dongfang Xi frowned and clenched her hands into fists.

Just a few seconds in between and she had already lost sight of her target.
Scanning her surroundings, Dongfang Xi's gaze landed on the CCTV in front of a department store and her eyes lit up.
She hurriedly whipped up her phone and hacked through the store's computer as well as all the other camera's nearby. However, to her dismay, she found nothing.
Was she just hallucinating?
No.
She couldn't have.
Dongfang Xi was sure of it.
However, if that was really the case, then things had just gotten even more interesting.
To be able to hide from all the cameras and walk through their blindspots with such ease...
That's no ordinary skill which just further confirmed her suspicions.
