Chapter 30 - Chapter 29: Meeting an Original

After walking out of Alaric's office, Hope gave a scrutinizing look at John as he closed the door. "I didn't know Josie's antagonization against Penelope had been rubbed on you."

"Nah, I just want to mess with her." John smirked. "It will be good for my mental health."

"Uh-huh…" Hope hummed, expressing her skepticism.

"Also," Taking Hope's hand, John walked away from the headmaster's office. "Do you really think Josie hates Penelope?"

"No, not at all." Hope shook her head. "It's quite obvious they still like each other. They just refuse to show it. Well, Josie does. Penelope not so much, but people probably can't see it 'cause of her usual mean behavior."

"Exactly." John nodded. "They are just following the roles of ex-girlfriends."

In regards to the strange perspective of a relationship Penelope and Josie shared, the couple laughed lightly as they traversed the corridors.

Hope was the one leading them, walking one step ahead than John and guiding him by hand.

As they passed by the main hall, John was slightly surprised when Hope didn't stop around for them to kill some time. Instead, she continued to guide him until they started climbing up the stairs to the upper floors.

"Your room again?" John asked.

"Got a complaint?" Hope looked at him through the corner of her eyes.

"Never in my life." John shook his head. "Just so you know, I appreciate what you are doing for me." Not halting his steps, John lightly kissed Hope on her cheek as they continued going up.

"I know." Hope said, happy by the demonstration of affection from the young man. Then, quickly, she checked the time on her smartphone. "It's still quite early, do you have something in mind you would want to do?"

A lot of things. But it's too early to try any of them now I think. John thought. "Not really." He said as they reached the floor to their rooms.

Giving some thought to her own question, Hope then came up with an idea. "Well… we could-" However, before she could suggest what went through her mind, Hope felt her phone, which she just put back in her pocket, vibrating.

As they slowly made their way to her room, Hope retrieved her phone and verified who was calling her tonight. And upon looking at who was, Hope was mildly surprised, but happily so if the smile blooming on her lips was anything to go by.

Rather quickly, Hope pressed the button on her screen to accept the call and brought her phone close to her ear. "Aunt Bekah? Hi!"

Ah, so it's Rebekah calling Hope. John thought, his lips curling slightly in amusement at the nickname the girl gave her auntie. I wonder what she has been doing since moving out of New Orleans with Marcel. The only thing I know is that she married Marcel and is waiting to drink the cure from Elena's or Damon's blood, from whoever gets to die first. Whilst going over his thoughts, John toned down his sense of hearing to not peek at Hope's conversation. Despite his curiosity for whatever reason Rebekah called, Hope's privacy wasn't something he treated casually like others'.

"I am fine, everything is good around here. And you? How has New York been treating you?" Hope asked, slowing down her pace even more when on the call. "I see…" She muttered, then it seemed something was asked to her. "Now? I am doing nothing. I was just on my way to my room. No, we can talk. I wanted to hear from you as well. Aunt Freya said you and Marcel have been busy and I wanted to know how things have been there."

Listening to Hope's words, John lightly tapped on her shoulder to get her attention. He gestured with his hands to ask her if she wished to be alone now to talk to her aunt and then he also communicated they could just see each other later.

When she understood that, Hope briefly shook her head, her beautiful auburn hair swinging as well.

Just as she did so, Hope's attention was brought back to the call. "What? Yeah, I'm with someone right now…" She said to Rebekah through the phone. It seemed the vampire had noticed her niece wasn't alone somehow.

Did she listen to Hope's hair moving? John guessed, impressed at the prospect if it ended up being true. Or was it because Hope was momentarily quiet? Maybe both reasons together? He quietly wondered, continuing on his low walk.

"Who is with me? Well, it's…" When she should give a response, Hope seemed hesitant to answer while she quietly sent a doubtful look at the boy. But beyond doubt, her eyes also seemed to be seeking confirmation from the young man.

Just recently, Hope had answered a similar question to Freya, but now she didn't think her previous words could apply to the present. Her relationship with John had progressed, they even had somewhat confirmed what they are to each other now. However, now she sought a more solid answer from him through her eyes.

And when confronted with that look, John just gently smiled. Holding her hand, he weakly squeezed it while silently nodding. And despite words not coming out of his mouth, his lips still moved to pronounce the words he wished to pass to her.

Would you like to be my girlfriend? Was what Hope read from John's lips, her smile immediately widening and eyes glowing with joy right after.

Right now, Hope wished to let herself fall into John's arms, but she remembered she was on a call and replied to the question given to her by her aunt.

"Right now, I'm with… my boyfriend." Hope stated, her voice naturally coming with happiness as she muttered those words.

However, for some reason, Hope went into a strange silence after saying these words. Just from looking at her, it was possible to see she wasn't saying anything because she was just listening to Rebekah, but also because of something else. And very much probably, the reason for her silence was also the reason why her pale cheeks were under a weak hue of red now.

After a few good seconds in silence, Hope finally said something else. "I know what I said to aunt Freya, you don't need to make me feel embarrassed because of it." Looking ahead, Hope noticed she was finally reaching her room. "No, I won't tell you what happened." After saying that, Hope widened her eyes. It wasn't of shock, but more of a mild surprise as more words from her aunt entered her ear. "I don't know if-" Hope didn't have the opportunity to finish her sentence as Rebekah seemingly interrupted her.

Stopping outside Hope's door, John looked at the girl's back as she searched for her keys in her pocket. I really want to know what they are talking about. It seems to be so interesting just from Hope's words and reactions.

As she found her key and inserted it into the keyhole, Hope continued on the call. "I just think it is too soon." She said, pushing open the door after unlocking it. "Okay, he met Aunt Freay, but that was under different circumstances. They didn't even talk for long. Also, all you want from this is to make me feel embarrassed." Hope said, already walking to her bed. "Don't just agree with that. Aren't you supposed to be a thousand-years-old? Where did all your decorum go?" She asked. But whatever the response was, it only served to make Hope briefly silent. "Okay, that's just vulgar." She deadpanned.

Meanwhile, John stayed behind to close the door. And as he listened to Hope's words, he somehow formulated an image of Rebekah's personality in his mind by how the girl reacted and compared to the personality from the one he knew from the TV show.

It seems Rebekah is a little more whimsical, at least she is with Hope. She seems to like to get a reaction, something not uncommon in the series. John thought, turning around. Without filters as well. Very much like the Rebekah I know from the series. I hope it stays that way, a carefree Jeremy is enough of a change already.

As John was lost in his own thoughts, Hope was already lying on her bed. "Tsk… If, and that's a big if, you promise to not make me feel embarrassed, I will let you talk to him." While saying that, Hope gestured with her hand towards John, asking him to approach. "That's not what I wanted to hear, Aunt Bekah." Hope weakly frowned, but the budding stress quickly vanished. "Okay… I think I can live with that." She said, slowly putting the phone away from her ear. Then, she focused on John, who was standing by her side. "Hey, mind joining me in what could possibly be an embarrassing moment?"

"Anytime." Immediately, John jumped over Hope and landed right next to her on the bed.

After briefly chuckling in response to John's words, Hope touched her phone's screen and changed the call from a voice one to a video call.

At first, the image of the person Hope was talking to was blurred. However, a moment later, the person was revealed. She had long blond hair as brightful as the sun. Her eyes were just like Hope's, a sparkling blue that resembled the stars amidst the pale white of her skin. Her cheekbones were high and her lips thin, the very shape of her face was synonymous to the word "elegance".

When looking at her, John took a deep breath. "I think it's certain now…"

"What?" Hope asked.

"Your family," John pointed. "it seems to be favored by the goddess of beauty herself. Every member I have encountered is easily a peerless beauty that puts many models to shame."

On the screen, the image of Rebekah smiled beautifully upon the comment from the young man. "It seems you found one with a silver tongue, my niece." She smirkly said, giving a good look at the boy. "And handsome as well. Quite a rare catch nowadays."

She has an English accent as well, but much heavier than Freya's. John mentally noted. "Thanks for the compliment, Mrs. Mikaelson." John said with a light laugh.

"Mrs. Mikaelson is also my sister, and my sisters-in-law when they are having a good day." Rebekah said almost the same thing as Freya did when meeting the boy. "Just call me Rebekah, please."

"If you say so." John just readily accepted the woman's words.

Then, after a brief silence that resulted from Rebekah giving a scrutinizing look at the boy, the Original Vampire smiled amusingly. "This is such a strange moment despite its ordinariness. I always wished to meet a friend, or at least a colleague from Hope's school, but the opportunity never showed up."

"Consider that a perk of being a Mikaelson." Hope sarcastically said.

Rebekah just heartily chuckled. "I guess it is a good enough reason. I know our family name must bring quite a few complications out there." She commented, her eyes falling on the boy. "But I guess this didn't work on our boy here, did it?" Rebekah seemed to shift in her position as the image shook momentarily. "Tell me, John. Don't you feel scared of the Mikaelson surname? I am sure you must be aware by now how our family doesn't have the best reputation out there."

John shrugged his shoulders, taking a nonchalant attitude. "I think everyone can cross certain lines after living more than a thousand years. In this case, it just happened that you and your family did it a few more times than anyone else." With a casual tone, the boy shared his opinion. "I mean, you are vampires. Your emotions were enhanced the moment you changed, probably much more so than any normal vampire. Living a thousand years in a world with a mind that can easily be moved by anger, love, lust and every emotion we can produce and with you not having to fear what anyone else can do to you certainly makes it easy to comprehend most of the things you did."

"Most, you say." Rebekah remarked.

John nodded. "There are a few things I read I just can't think of enough to rationalize your behavior." He said, shrugging again. "The details of your actions in the 15th century are quite vivid in many books of history."

Listening to the boy's words and the time period he referenced, Rebekah just pursed her lips in bitter agreement. "Not the best days of our family." She said, signing briefly as she quickly changed her emotional state. "I am quite surprised by your words, kid. I think it's the first time in a very good while that anyone has even tried to logically understand our actions through the centuries."

"It's a thing of mine, trying to understand everything, finding answers in every little thing." John said, then he cast a look at Hope. "Having said all that, it is quite difficult to create a bad impression of your family as I daily interact with this beautiful girl here. Look at her, she hooked me with her charms the first day we met, I can't resist her at all."

"Stop it, you are making me feel embarrassed." Hope bashfully said, using the side of her body to push the boy away in a playful manner.

Purposefully, John exaggerated his reaction by falling sideways on the bed before making the way back and hitting her shoulder lightly as well.

His antics drew a soft chuckle from the girl.

Meanwhile, the old vampire looked at it all with quite an observant look. Rebekah looked at the warm and casual smile on her niece's lips, bringing a certain joy and satisfaction to the blond vampire, alongside a relief she quickly hid away.

Looking away from the boy, Hope placed her gaze over her aunt. "Hey, so how are things in there? I can assume everything is fine, right?"

"You mean the fact that a bunch of fledglings thought they were something big and picked up a fight with us?" Rebekah had an annoying look when reminiscing the past few days. "It's been taken care of. By now, they are just cinders in some old factory outside the city."

"That's quite a dark thing to say." Hope commented.

Meanwhile, John looked between the aunt and niece pair without an ounce of knowledge about what they were talking about but the few hints given.

Rebekah noticed the boy's behavior and quickly changed her look to Hope. "Did you teach your boyfriend about the net of power in the country?"

"Just the very, very basic." Hope replied. "I just off-handedly commented about how certain cities are run by groups or retained autonomy from supernatural factions through certain ways."

"Right…" John muttered, remembering Hope's words. "I remember you saying L.A. is apparently full of supernatural gangs, the same for Miami. And northern-center states are wolves territory while everything northeast, northwest and one or two states belong to witches."

"Actually, California was completely controlled by gangs a few years ago." Rebekah commented. "However, your uncle Kol wasn't the most warm guest when he moved to San Francisco." She looked at Hope. "What a bloody mess that was. Literally and figuratively."

Hmph. John inwardly laughed at Rebekah's comment. "Well, beyond that, most I've learned about is from whispering and a recent experience I had during the full moon. Beyond that, I don't know much about how the country is divided."

"Well, I won't chit-chat with you for too long about that." Rebekah said. "So, basically what happened was that a group of strays, vampires without a group or simply wanderers grouped up and thought it was a good idea to invade New York and take it from the witches. And to somehow prove they could do it, they came to us at first, me and my husband, Marcel."

"Not the brightest bunch, um?"

"What I thought." Hope said.

"In the end," Rebekah continued. "Marcel and I had to deal with them. Not much problem there, just tiring since some of them hit and ran to the sewers. That place is a labyrinth and a nightmare to find anyone."

Along her aunt's words, Hope frowned in doubt of something she listened to. "You went into the sewers of a city?"

"Hell no." Rebekah shook her head. "I couldn't stand the smell. I let that part to Marcel."

"Why are the sewers a nightmare to find someone? Beyond the obvious." John asked. This wasn't the first time he listened to someone going into the sewers of New York to hunt vampires.

"Your sense of smell is useless there, your hearing is almost the same. The constant sound of water running and a thousand other strange noises make it almost impossible for you to focus on one single thing." Rebekah calmly explained. "At least that's what Marcel said. But it's not hard to picture the situation."

"It really isn't." John agreed, imagining the cacophony of smells and noises that the sewers of a great city like New York should be.

While he did so, Rebekah once again shifted in her position and her phone which was close to her face retreated a little, giving the two teenagers a broader image of the blonde vampire. "Now that I satisfied you both about this, can I ask you a few questions, John?" Rebekah calmly asked, the tone of her voice still light despite the mood changing slightly. "The primary reason I asked my niece for this video chat was to get to know you better, after all. I want to know more about the young man who successfully stole my little one's heart."

"Do you need to say it like that?" Hope chimed in, rolling her eyes at the words of her aunt.

"Yes." Rebekah promptly nodded, then she turned her eyes at the boy. "What do you say, kid? Have some time to satisfy a few doubts of mine?"

John curtly nodded. "It would be my pleasure."

"Good." Rebekah said. "I will be direct with my questions so as not to waste your time. First of all, I learned you are new to our side of the world. How have you been adapting to it?"

Facing the question, John didn't need time to think of an answer as it just naturally came out of his lips. "I haven't faced any problem yet. I think I already fit perfectly into this secret side of the world." He said, pausing to catch his breath. "Might sound cliché, but I was the kind of kid who always wished the world was more than just… its ordinariness. Finding out that magic, creatures and everything that seemed fantastical was true certainly helped me in trying to settle and adapt into my new reality fast."

"So you are one of those." Rebekah muttered, not reacting much to the boy's response. "Nowadays, there are many like you as well. You would be surprised how easy it is to transform someone into a vampire these days when compared to the past centuries."

"I bet you must thank cinema and books for that."

"Me? No. The vampires who command cities? Pretty much." Rebekah's words were followed by a chuckle. "How about the other people in your life, those you lived with before this change in your life. How did they face this change or are they not aware?"

"You mean my family? They were already aware of everything before I even did." John replied. "I just learned of everything on my 16th birthday, some days ago."

"I see." Rebekah nodded in understanding. "So, since they already knew everything, were they the ones who sent you towards the school at first?"

Immediately upon listening to the question, John shook his head. "No, no. They didn't send me here." He quickly denied the idea. "Actually, my parents disappeared as soon as I became what I am now. Stumbling upon the school just ended up being a random fortune." John said, mixing some truths with lies.

And between them, Rebekah frowned not because she noticed the lies but at the truth. "Your parents disappeared?"

"It doesn't sound as bad as it might seem." John laughed at Rebekah's reaction, knowing she has good intention at heart for her words. "My parents are almost nomads, they settled down for some time when I was born. When they thought I had reached a good enough age to take care of myself–which is actually something I had already mentioned with them before, though through other words–they just went along with my wishes. They unsealed parts of me that I wasn't aware of and they simply gave me… freedom." John took a deep breath. "Might sound strange, but believe me, that was the best thing I could ask from them."

"Yeah, it does sound weird." Rebekah didn't even try to agree, she simply nodded.

Following her aunt's words, Hope did the same. "Get used to it, he sometimes says things that do not make sense even for him."

"I promised I would explain everything to you one day, didn't I?" Gently, John pinched Hope's cheek and shook it. "It might take some time, but believe in me when I say that it will be worth the wait."

"Hmph." Hope cutely huffed, trying to release her cheek from his hand.

Affectionately, John smiled at her reaction and released it by himself. "I think the only bad part about it all is that I ended up without my belongings. No phone, computer or even IDs–which I ended up learning all of them to be fake–the only things I got to take with me were the clothes I went to sleep with." And knowledge about a few hundreds different worlds and multiverses, but that doesn't need to be included in this conversation.

"It must have been tough on you, child." Rebekah commented, having a pitiful look when her eyes rested on the young man.

John, however, held the urge to laugh at the idea Rebekah might be forming in her mind. For he knew better than anyone that he still had to suffer through any possible way ever since that pivotal day of his new life.

"Nah, it's fine." John attempted to dismiss her worries. "The only problem I am facing now, if that might ever be called one, is that I am lacking funds. I wanted to pay the bills I have with the school as soon as possible so I won't have to worry about it later."

"I see." Rebekah said. "Have you thought of a way to deal with that?"

"Yes."

"And what is it?"

"I will legally rob casinos in Las Vegas."

"…" The conversation fell into a short silence, with Rebekah wondering how she should reply to the boy's words. "I was starting to think he was smart." She looked at Hope.

"He has his moments of idiocy." Hope casually said. "But despite it sounding a little absurd, he might be able to do it."

"How?"

"Let me explain." John chimed in, taking a deep breath before proceeding with his explanation as he knew he would need to say more than just what he plans to do for Rebekah to understand his plan.

And that's what John did. Beyond explaining how he would acquire money in Las Vegas, he also explained to her his abilities, his powers and why he specifically chose this method to acquire money and not other easier and less risky ways.

It took some time for the young man to share every bit of knowledge about it, enough for even the night to get darker and the dimly lit lights from the hallway invading the room from under the door's space to disappear.

"…I think that's it." John said, ending his somewhat long explanation.

"I think I get everything you just said." Rebekah replied, having once again shifted her posture. Now, she presented herself a little more relaxed. "Putting aside many of the unbelievable things you just said to be able to do and just proved to me that you can do it, what you want to do is make use of the situation you thought of to acquire money to also test yourself out and your abilities as well, am I right?"

"It seems correct."

"Hmph." Rebekah humorously, even a bit scornfully, snorted. "Despite not being one of us, you are just like a newly-turned vampire. Wanting to prove and test their new gifts at every opportunity and even looking for them."

John tilted his head weakly to the side, not disagreeing. "I won't deny it, I really want to test myself a little. The opportunities I had recently were lacking in certain aspects, so why not make one for myself?"

"Aren't you scared of things going wrong?"

"Not really. I can quickly make myself out of that city if things go wrong. I just need to cause enough trouble for them to forget about me in a way no one gets hurt."

"It seems you are determined about it.

"I am." John firmly nodded.

"Wouldn't your headmaster be pissed about it? From what I've heard, he seems to have become quite the strict figure since he has become a father."

John thinned his lips. "I have a certain agreement with Dr. Saltzman. I am not as restrained as other students, and I only have to worry to not bring any harm to the school."

Gracefully, Rebekah rested her chin over the back of her hand, the boy's words bringing a certain enjoyment to her. "Hm… I see." She hummed, spending a few seconds silently staring at the young man through her screen. "Would you be interested in a change of plans, John?"

The vampire successfully stole the boy's curiosity as he tilted his head to the side. "What do you mean?"

"You want to test yourself and get money, I know a situation in which you can achieve both. The gains you may get are higher, the chances of you bringing problems to your school are lower and you will have the opportunity to test yourself out a little if you wish." Rebekah temptingly said, her tone low and words coming out slowly out of her mouth. "But the dangers you might face can be higher."

"What are you-"

"No." Before John could say or ask anything in response, Hope interrupted him. Her eyes narrowed at her aunt, a quiet anger building in her. "You will not suggest that place."

"I think I will." Rebekah said.

"Did you lose your mind? Are you really suggesting that he go to that atrocity of a place? I'd rather he robbed the entirety of Las Vegas before going there." Hope strongly said, holding the phone closer to her now.

"You are just exaggerating now, my dear niece." Rebekah was unbothered by her niece's words, keeping her casual mood. "From what your boyfriend said and you confirmed along the way, he wouldn't have any problems going there. Actually, he might prosper very much. You won't have to worry about him bringing problems to the school, I can arrange that for him if that's his biggest fear. The rest I think he should deal just fine."

"No, it isn't-"

"Okay, what are you two talking about?" John chimed in the aunt-niece conversation, looking between them. "What place is this that you are talking about?"

"A place in Nevada, at the outskirts of Las Vegas." Rebekah replied before Hope could say anything. "It's a place that legally, it does not exist. A location belonging to a certain vampire from my sireline, a place where you can get everything you want. Consider it a casino for the supernatural."

"And why does it sound so bad?" John looked at Hope.

"Because it is a place for the supernatural. Let's say that the stakes there are higher than any usual casino and the people that visit that place are not usually the best kind." Hope replied, looking at him through the corner of her eyes. "I only heard of it, but the stories and rumors around that place are not the best."

"The rumors are mostly not wrong." Rebekah said. "Vampires from all places and eras go there to have some fun, you can imagine the kind of people there." She looked at the boy, or at least half of him as Hope brought the phone close enough to her that Rebekah couldn't see the figure of John entirely.

"Okay, I guess I can see why that place might be dangerous." John commented.

Rebekah nodded. "Yes, it might be. But you can rest assured that it is not an unlawful place. The owner doesn't allow fights. If you want to settle a grudge, they have an arena for it there."

"An arena?"

"Yes."

"By arena you mean an octagon or gladiator stuff?"

"It just so happens the owner was a noble from the Byzantine Empire." Rebekah said nothing more, but it wasn't needed for John to understand what she was referring to his two options.

"Okay, I am in." John immediately said.

"No, you are not." Hope immediately denied the idea. "Are you aware of what you are saying? Going into an illegal casino for vampires just to get a test of your powers and get some money. That's stupid, even for you." She worriedly said, dropping the phone to let Rebekah staring at the ceiling. "You are not going."

"I will, Hope."

"No, you won't." She strongly said, furrowing her brow.

"Hope, listen to me. You have nothing to fear. I know how to take care of myself." John gently said, rubbing Hope's shoulder with his left hand and cupping her cheek with his right one. "You know what I am capable of. Forget fighting, I can just fly away from there."

"Yeah, but what if they learn about you later and try to cause problems for you? Wouldn't it be against your deal with Dr. Saltzman?"

At this moment, Rebekah spoke again. "I think I said that the chances of you bringing problems to the school would be slower by going there, and I mean that." Her voice got both teenagers' attention again.

Picking up her phone, Hope looked at the image of her aunt. "Speak."

"I went there once with Marcel. We were passing by when the owner of the place knew of our presence in Vegas and asked us to visit. And since we have a certain status and didn't want our presence to scare away anyone at the same time, she offered us a way to visit without anyone knowing who we are." Rebekah calmly started to explain. "She offered us a pair of masks, both magically fabricated. It can hide our facial features, restrain our smell and even alter our voices. If you want, I can talk to her and get one for your boyfriend. The only thing he needs to take care of is to come up with a fake name to not reveal his own."

"…Sounds too easy." Hope said, still not trusty of the idea.

"Because it is." Rebekah shrugged her shoulders. Then, she shifted her eyes to the boy. "All you need to worry about, John, is to not get into a fight with someone you think might be stronger than you or antagonize the owner. Everything beyond that and you are safe."

"Well, I had already agreed with the idea. With everything you just said, I can't see a reason to not go." John said, turning to look at Hope. "Hey, you don't need to worry. I will come back in one piece. And, if you are really worried, you can just go with me. I am more than capable of protecting you."

Listening to these words, Hope was momentarily quiet. "Hmph. If I decided to go, it would be me protecting you." She sighed, shaking her head. "Just be safe, okay? The last thing I want now is to see you hurt. I would get sad."

"Don't you worry, love." Warmly, John kissed Hope's forehead. "You getting sad is something I can't allow as long as I live."

"I hope so." Hope said, letting her head fall on the boy's chest as she dropped her phone again.

Meanwhile, Rebekah remained quiet for a short moment, just enough to let both teenagers enjoy the moment.

"I will text everything you should know to Hope, John. She will pass it to you then." Rebekah calmly said, her tone very low. "For now, I will set aside the other doubts I have and ask you later. It's late. Have a nice night of sleep for both of you." Having said that, Rebekah ended the call, leaving the couple alone to themselves.

After a few seconds of silence, with his arms around Hope's figure, John was the first to speak up. "I liked her."

"I knew you would. She is a little eccentric but she is someone good to talk with."

"Do you think she liked me?"

"I think so." Hope said. "Right now, she is probably talking to Marcel about how she approves of you."

"Don't you find it strange?"

"What?"

"Your adopted half-brother dating your aunt."

"Just when you say it outloud." Hope laughed lightly, pushing herself off the boy's embrace. "I am going for a shower and you should as well."

"Is that an invitation?"

"No, silly." Hope flicked his forehead. "Go to your room and be back here in fifteen minutes. Then, we will sleep."

Chucking, John nodded. "Okay." He said, a very happy smile on his face as the expectation of one more night of sleep in the bed of the girl he liked filled his mind with joy.
