Chapter 79 - WHEN EVERYTHING APPEARS LOST

Like a dagger slicing through the mayhem, the dog's guttural growl echoed throughout the cabin. The successor sprawled on the floor as its enormous body struck him. His sneer wavered for the first time, giving way to something that was perilously near panic.

As the situation developed, I pressed myself against the wall and gasped for air. As the dog hissed and snapped, inches from his throat, the successor fought under its weight, his hands gripping at its teeth.

Lydia! My voice was hoarse as I yelled.

She stumbled forward, her steps slow after the previous attack, but her gaze was fixed on the heir. She immediately picked up her knife from where it had fallen and moved forward, her face lethal.

However, the successor wasn't done yet. With an unexpected surge of energy, he pushed the dog away from him, causing it to skid across the floor. His shirt was stained with blood where the dog's claws had ripped through it, and he stumbled to his feet, his chest heaving.
