The morning air was crisp as I stepped out of the car, my hand wrapped around the shiny new phone Magnus had bought me. I still couldn't get over how much he'd pampered me yesterday. A new phone, new clothes, and the way he looked after me, even when I was pretending to be upset—it made my heart flutter just thinking about it.
I scanned the front of the school and spotted Regan walking toward me, flanked by the same two girls I'd seen with him yesterday. I felt a small wave of excitement rush through me as I hurried to show him my new phone. I held it out, waving it in his direction.
"Regan, look at this!" I called out as I reached him.
He stopped mid-stride, his eyes widening as he saw what I was holding. "Is that… an iPhone 16 Pro Max?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
The two girls beside him, who had been laughing and chatting with him moments before, went quiet. They both stared at the phone in my hand, their jaws dropping.
