Gao Jiaxing and Xia Xiao had revisited the Silk Road, not sticking to their original plan, but rather traveling along it.
They traversed all the regions that the Silk Road passed through, totaling nine provinces, covering a vast area of land. After this tour, it became the following year, and Gao Jiaxing and Xia Xiao spent the holidays and New Year's away from home.
In 2017, Gao Jiaxing turned seventy-three, and Xia Xiao reached the age of seventy.
Now Xia Xiao and Gao Jiaxing didn't wish to celebrate their birthdays with a banquet. They thought that if they lived to be in their late eighties or nineties, then they could have one.
In the past when they were at home, their children would come back for their birthdays. Now that they didn't return home, the couple celebrated together on their own.
