The father appeared to be in his late forties. Lean, tired, but with an upright spine that exhaustion had not bent. His left arm rested protectively around the girl beside him, who looked perhaps fourteen or fifteen. She had a small face, sharp eyes, and a quietness that did not resemble fear.
It was not an ordinary demeanor, especially in these circumstances.
Tang Li Yue's gaze sharpened further.
There it was, she felt a weak, fragmented spiritual qi from both of them. They were like embers preserved under ash than a cultivated flame.
But they were present, nonetheless. Both father and daughter had it.
