Chapter 4 - Grades: Power Test

"Tell me, what power do you have?"

Sahil was confused on hearing this but confidently replied, "I don't have any superpower, but I can activate beast weapons."

Hearing this, the general in front of him was shocked and smiled. "Well, you are very rare because there are very few losers in the world who have the Hunter Spirit. This means your willpower is very strong, and you do not need any superpowers. Okay! Now show me your physical capability."

After that, he moves away from Sahil, and a small wall appears in front of Sahil. The General shouts, "Boy! Attack it with all your might. This will reveal your strength!"

Sahil, not in the mood to hide his abilities anymore—having spent his whole life as a weak and labeled loser—activates the Dragon Fist with full power and punches the wall. The wall wasn't too hard, rather soft, but suddenly numbers start appearing and finally stop at 16.

Seeing this, the General nods and says, "Very good, now complete the agility test!"

Sahil enters a room to the left of the wall. The room is completely transparent. Suddenly a voice echoes from the speaker inside, "The test is being started."

As soon as Sahil hears it, he readies himself. Iron balls start flying toward him from all directions. Sahil dodges many, but one manages to touch him. It doesn't hurt—it was designed to test resilience and had a special property that could soften iron on contact. Numbers appear again, and finally the number 13 is displayed.

The General calls Sahil and hands him a black ID card with specific instructions:

Do not lose this card.

It identifies you as a military student.

It grants entry to the base.

It contains your grades.

You'll receive 100 martial points daily, stored on this card.

When Sahil checks his ID card, it shows Grade C. Though initially disappointed, thinking it was low, Sahil was confused about the grading system.

Abhimanyu, standing behind him, notices and says, "Hey, don't worry. Grade C is actually really good."

He continues, explaining:

F: Failure

E: Elementary

D: Developing

C: Competent – "You're strong if you're here!"

Sahil's face lights up with a childlike smile after understanding. Abhimanyu teases, "You came to the military base without knowing anything, huh?"

Sahil replies with a shy grin. Abhimanyu laughs, adding, "You know about human history, or just Rani Lakshmibai?"

Sahil makes a funny face and says, "Yeah, yeah! I know enough."

Just then, a voice calls from the stage, "Abhimanyu Ahuja, College GX-9."

Abhimanyu steps up. In the strength test, he creates a powerful gravitational field within a 5-meter radius, increasing his weight to over 500 kg. The General, standing within this field, is unaffected and simply watches.

Abhimanyu punches the wall—score: 50.

Impressed, the General says, "Wow! Gravitational manipulation, and you control it well!"

During the agility test, Abhimanyu lightens his weight, dodging most iron balls, though one hits his shoulder. He scores 50 again and receives an A Grade ID card.

Sahil, confused, selects "Yes" when prompted about viewing Army Gate information. The grading system appears:

F: Failure

E: Elementary

D: Developing

C: Competent

B: Brilliant

A: Ace

S: Superior

X: Xceptional

He realizes Abhimanyu is just one level above him—an expert.

Abhimanyu returns and jokingly waves his A-grade ID card like a fan. "Phew, so hot here—maybe someone's burning?"

Sahil just stares, and Abhimanyu laughs. "You get what A grade means now, or need another lesson?"

Sahil replies smugly, "Yeah, yeah! I get it!"

They both laugh, and other students turn to watch their chemistry.

General Krishna Rathore steps up with new instructions:

"Students can fight and injure each other—but no killing."

Sahil and a nervous boy ahead of him are stunned by the rule. It meant stronger students could bully weaker ones without intervention.

Then the voice calls:

"Madhav Sharma, College GX-2."

The boy ahead walks nervously to the stage.

"What power do you have?" asks General Krishna.

"Sir, I have hydrokinesis," Madhav replies, forming a water gauntlet and attacking. He scores 10 in both tests.

Next, a boy with earth powers adds rocks to his fist before punching—score: 30. He scores 10 in agility.

General Krishna then assigns everyone roll numbers. Sahil is given Roll No. 106 and room details.

The students are escorted to the army base—a vast area, like a village. Sahil finds his room and is thrilled to see Abhimanyu as his roommate.

Abhimanyu smiles, "Yeah, but we've got one more roommate."

Suddenly, the door bangs open. A well-groomed, stylish boy enters.

"Oh! So you both are my roommates. Name's Pratik."

Sahil and Abhimanyu look confused.

"Bro... you don't look Indian. What kind of name is Pratik?"

Pratik rolls his eyes, "Doesn't matter what I look like. I am Indian—believe it or not. What about you two?"

Abhimanyu replies, "I'm Abhimanyu. I control gravity. One day I'll be as strong as a War God!"

Pratik doesn't react. Sahil adds, "I'm Sahil. No superpowers, but I've got some ancient martial arts techniques."

They both are stunned. Ancient Techniques were extremely rare—worth more than Earth-tier Soul Weapons. Sahil didn't look rich at all.

Pratik exclaims, "What?!! You really have ancient martial arts techniques? Show us!"

Abhimanyu nods eagerly.

Sahil, without hesitation, uses Blue Dragon Fist, and a glowing dragon hits Pratik's chest, knocking him down.

Pratik jumps up excitedly, "Wow! That's an ancient Qi technique—Blue Dragon Fist! I wasn't ready—hit me again!"

Sahil laughs and prepares to strike again, while Pratik begins to activate his own powers.

What will happen in this fight? And what are Pratik's superpowers?
