Chapter 148 - Lennox

"Good morning. I hope you slept well." Greyson greeted Emy as she walked into the dining room.

He placed a plate full of waffles in the middle of the table.

"I made waffles," he said with his boxy smile.

Emy walked to her seat; the aroma of freshly cooked waffles filled her nostrils.

Gosh.

She would live like this.

This was heaven.

Greyson watched her as she took a bite.

Emy moaned as the soft and tender waffle filled her mouth.

"I guess it's good."

Greyson wiped his hands on the apron and sat across from her.

" I wish I could hire you as my private chef."

A smile tugged on his lips. He rested his chin on his fist and said.

"I'm all yours, mi amor."

Her eyes widened at his words.

"You don't need to call me that," Emy mumbled.

"Call you what? Mi amor?"

"Yes.."

Greyson chuckled at her reaction.

After clearing her plate, she helped him with the dishes even though Greyson suggested otherwise.

The sound of the movie filled the room. Emeralde stole glances at him. She bit her lip. Her chest felt heavy. She knew she had to tell him about what happened the other night, but he wasn't asking her.

Was he not interested in knowing?

Was this all an act?

"Emy? Is everything alright?"

Emy flinched before looking at him.

"Um. I'm fine."

Greyson glanced at her fingers.

"You're peeling the skin off your fingers, Emy. What is it?"

She took a deep breath before looking at him.

" I.. know you have questions about what happened the other night."

"You don't have to tell me -"

"I found out Jolly wasn't my mom"

"What?"

Greyson moved towards her.

"I'm an illegitimate child. My father had an affair, and the result was me."

"Emy."

Greyson said as he hugged her.

Emeralde told him everything that happened that night.

"You don't have to fight this alone, bambina. You have me. I promise."

"It was so easy to get rid of that stupid girl," Hannah mumbled

She straightened her blazer, her reflection staring back at her.

"Time to visit my brother."

Hannah got out of the house and drove to the central prison in the city. Twenty-five minutes later, she parked her car in front of a tall metal gate. Hannah put on her black shades, grabbed her handbag, and got out of her car. The gate was opened for her. One policeman greeted her and led her to a dark room, far from the cells.

"How's he doing?" she asked the policeman.

"The usual."

Hannah snickered before entering.

"Hello, brother."

Hannah took the seat across from the glass.

Lennox gritted his teeth.

"Hannah,"

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" she said, taking off her shades.

"I have news. Good news. Jolly is in a psych ward. Max is dead, and oh, and guess what? Emy is out of the Gibson household."

Lennox shot out of his chair and slammed his palms against the glass.

"You bitch! How dare you touch my daughter. I'm going to kill you."

"Not if I kill you first. I can't believe I'm related to someone like you. You disgust me."

"You won't get away with this, Hannah."

"Aha!" Hannah's eyes darkened, and she leaned against the glass wall.

"I already did, brother."

"Alex is going to stop you when he finds out about everything."

Hannah balled her hand into a fist.

" I can deal with him."

She rose from her seat. The officer opened the door for her

"Hannah! Hannah! Don't you dare touch my daughter."
