The entire beach suddenly began to tremble.
The violent vibrations rippled across the shoreline, making even the girls who were still engrossed in their game of volleyball halt in their tracks. Dark Elf stared down at the ground, watching the way the snowy sand cracked open.
The beach felt like it was being torn in half.
It felt terrifyingly similar to when Maya let out that pulsar explosion back in Atlantic City.
Dark Elf's eyes whipped toward the parking lot.
Through the haze, she saw Maya bleeding out on the ground as a mysterious man in a dark overcoat stood over her limp body.
"GHOST!" Dark Elf shouted to the other girls.
They immediately shifted into their fighting positions, but before Dark Elf could even make a move, Ghost vanished. In a fraction of a second, he appeared directly behind her. His hand phased cleanly through her back and neatly ripped out her spine.
"ARGHHHHHHHHH!"
