Chapter 16 - [16] Life is a Fork Road

A/N: Sorry but I'll be off screening the kids, and no, I don't mean that I'm killing them. What I mean is that I'm having Meliodas beat the fuck out of them and help them reach their 4/10 potential off screen.

I thought it would be too boring to just have Meliodas constantly beat the fuck out of them, so I decided to skip it.

So here we are, now it's time for canon Genshin!

And it's also time for the main story to start (IYKYK)

-3rd POV-

"Where in the seven realms did you obtain this from, my lord?" Sleipnir asked as he ran his hands along the shaft of [True Longinus]. He could sense the overwhelming light that resided inside it, along with the strong foreign will embedded into the spear.

He could tell that the powers that resided withing the spear were...foreign?

"Well, um...I got it from some of my previous adventures" Meliodas replied awkwardly as he made up an excuse for where he obtained [True Longinus]. He fully trusted Sleipnir, but Meliodas thought that it was a bad idea to tell him about the system either way.

Sleipnir looked at his master with suspicion, he knew that Meliodas was lying to him, but Sleipnir had no right to ask of him the truth. He trusted his master completely and if he didn't want to say the truth, then he must have his reasons.

Dropping the mater, Sleipnir changed the subject "So, master, the children are going to leave soon?" Sleipnir asked, his tone taking on a melancholic tone. He's also been raising the six Pendragon children for the past six years, so he's developed an affection for them as their uncle.

Meliodas sighed; his eyes lingered to the six passed out children laying on a massive bed in the middle of the living room.

Meliodas, after priming and fully turning into Leviathan, he managed to push his children to their limits and help them break past to 4/10 of their potential. Well, it was more like bullying them till they broke. But hey, if it works it works.

These where the rewards Meliodas had received so far.

"Yeah, I've done as much as I could for them. Its time they do a bit of exploring themselves" Meliodas replied.

"You already know where you're sending them?" Sleipnir asked.

"Mhm~" Meliodas hummed a yes, he's already decided and prepared the stuff and location of where he thought they should go.

"I'm first sending Asuna and Mitsuri to Liyue" Meliodas revealed the first destination for two of his children. Meliodas has placed a lot of consideration into his decision. That includes their intelligence, abilities, and skills.

Mitsuri is what Meliodas would call...unique.

Unlike her sibling who mostly focus in fighting, economics, and other more useful skills, Mitsuri focuses her talents on cooking.

Yes, you heard right. Mitsuri is a cooker.

Thats why the system had given her the item [All-Purpose Farming Tool] and the Skill [Unlimited Food-Works]

You've already been explained what the item [All-Purpose Farming Tool] does, but not he skill [Unlimited Food-Works].

Basically, it is a specialized skill and Reality Marble that allows Mitsuri to scan any ingredient she has personally seen and be able to replicate that ingredient infinitely. Well, as long as she has enough magical energy that is.

And the Reality Marble allows her to create a field of infinite ingredients that she can use to create any single dish to perfection, even if she doesn't have the current skills to create it without the Reality Marble.

That dish will also bestow special buffs to the eater. The buffs it gives varies, all depending on what dish it is. This Reality Marble is only usable once a day.

Because of this, Meliodas had decided to send Mitsuri to Liyue. More specifically, he wanted to send her off to work for Wanmin restaurant.

Meliodas knew that he could trust the people in there because Xiangling and her father run the place. It is also a place that holds the literal God of Stove Gouba.

Even if Gouba doesn't have his previous power, he was still the God of Stove.

Meliodas also wasn't worried about sending her off since he got a handwritten recommendation letter from Duncan. Apparently, Duncan and chef Mao (Xiangling's dad) were old acquaintances. Duncan would always go and eat at Wanmin when he visited Liyue.

Using that influence, Meliodas had Duncan write a letter for Mitsuri, asking if chef Mao could hire Mitsuri so that she could gain experience as a cooker.

Next is Asuna. Yes, she is smart and has been taught in many fields by Meliodas, but the place she exceled in more than any of her other siblings was commerce.

Asuna had a natural and raw talent for being a merchant. She had a way with quick calculations, sharp intuition, and great economic planning.

All of these skills making her a great future merchant.

Thats why he was going to send Asuna to Liyue with a starting fund he had saved up for her over the years and let Asuna start her own business there. Afterall, what better place to start one than in the nation of commerce and contracts.

But of course, money isn't the only gift he was going to send her off with. The item and skill the system had given Asuna was the character template [Stacia] and the rapier [Lambent Light].

Although [Lambent Light] pales in comparison to the [Stacia] template, it is still a very reliable and durable sword that gives its user decent buffs. And if were talking specifics, it gave the user a 12% ATK boost, and it reduced the MP required to use magic and skills by 20%.

Next is Violet. Just like any of her siblings, she was incredibly talented. But her skills lied more in the brain that brawn, specifically in technology, engineering and architecture.

That meant that Meliodas could still keep her here with him and bestow more knowledge upon her by via the system, but he thought that it would be good for Violet to explore the world like her siblings. Thus, he decided to send her off to the Sumeru so that she could apply for the Akademya.

Yes, it was dangerous because of the whole Akasha System and Terminal, but he was already planning on explaining the risks of it to Violet.

Knowing how smart she was, Meliodas was sure Violet would find a way of using it without having to place the brainwashing item on her head.

Next is Sinbad, Reinhart, and Esdeath. Originally, he was thinking of sending them to Inazuma since there are a lot of great warriors they could learn from there, but Meliodas suddenly remembered the extremely emotionally unstable goddess that will cutdown any sort of anomaly that could disturb her road to Eternity.

So, yea, Inazuma was out of the equation.

That left only one place for them to explore so that they could grown stronger and have great adventures.

The Pyro Nation, Natlan.

Of course, Meliodas was aware of the shit that was soon to transpire there, but by the time that happened, he would be there to get them the fuck out of Natlan.

And also, the item given to Reinhart is the [True Longinus] and the given skill is called [Die Ewigkeit].

The skill [Die Ewigkeit] was something Meliodas was hesitant in giving to Reinhart, that is considering the nature of the skill.

Basically, the wielder gains lifeforce equivalent to the number of lives they devoured, which vastly augment their physical capabilities while making it harder for them to die.

Nasty little thing, but considering the type of world they live in, Meliodas knew that he needed to give this to him.

Plus, Reinhart was his son. If it was OG Reinhart from the anime, then yes, he would be concerned. But the current Reinhart is what Meliodas would describe as a person who will do what needs to be done but also has the emotional intelligence to know right from wrong, and act upon those morals Meliodas has taught him.

All Meliodas could do was trust Reinhart would only kill bad people like bandits, Fatui agents, and magical beasts.

Next is Sinbad. The item given to him was the [Djinn of Wrath and Heroes: Baal] and the given skill [The All-Tongue].

[The All-Tongue] is a skill that allows the user to communicate with anyone and also allows the user to read and speak any language, even if they've never seen it before.

Perfect for Sinbad since [Baal] is a spirit. Usually, they aren't able to speak human language, but [Baal] is one of the few that is able to.

And finally, Esdeath. The skill given to her was the [Demon God Manifestation: Demons Extract] and the given item [Crocea Mors]

[Crocea Mors] is the golden sword of Julius Caesar in Fate. Endowed with an ability in close-range combat that makes victory assured from the moment he sees the enemy.

When the True Name is released, after the first automatic, clean hit, Luck Checks occur until one fails. An additional attack is bestowed on each consecutive success, creating a super consecutive attack. In regard to close combat, there is no doubt it has the power to search and destroy (I came, I saw, I conquered).

And just like Reinhart, her talents mostly focus on combat, thus why he's sending her to Natl-

"A...ya...to" Esdeath muttered under her breath subconsciously as she was asleep.

Meliodas, hearing the name she had muttered, snaped his head towards her "Ohhh shit..." Meliodas said with a frown.

"Is something wrong, My Lord?" Sleipnir asked, he was the only one confused as he didn't know what the name Ayato meant.

-Meliodas POV-

Ohhhh fuuuuck...!

How did I not see it before? Blue eyes, blue hair, blue everything!

Esdeath is a Kamisato.

I mean, is Esdeath even her original name? The only reason I named her that was because Esdeath was her counterparts name, and she also couldn't remember her original name due to the self-enforced amnesia.

Sigh, at least I now know who her family was before she was kidnaped.

I looked at Sleipnir who was super confused "Change of plans...were sending Esdeath to Inazuma"

A/N: Here's the extra info if you were curious about what Meliodas rewards even were to begin with.

1<[Aegis Eclipse

<{World Origin: Fate/Grand Order

<{Item Type: Bow, Noble Phantasm, Anti-Fortress

<{Rank: EX

<{Lore Description: To defeat Artemis, Hephaestus reforged Achilles' Divine Armor into a compound longbow designed solely for use against interstellar fighters such as Artemis. This Divine Construct known as Aegis Eclipse is a weapon as powerful as an Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm. Just from looking at it, Mandricardo said it felt as powerful as the Holy Sword Durandal, which was said to be the greatest sword to ever exist.

The bow is extremely heavy, even for Orion. Firing it compromises his Saint Graph. With or without Theos Klironomia, firing them takes one hell of a toll. Just activating the bow puts such strain on his arms that it makes him feel as if his blood was boiling. His vessels pop, and he spills blood outside his veins

<{Ability Description: The bow is extremely powerful due to being a [Divine Construct]. All arrows shot by this bow, even if normal, could pierce steel and fly at the speed of sound due to this bow being a piece reforged with Achillies Divine Armor, that's saying if the projectile doesn't break down first from the power of the bow.

And although this bow is powerful against normal opponent and stronger, it is more meant to be used against interstellar fighters.

But its full power can only be used if a projectile that can take on its full divine power is used, just like the two separate arrows Hephaestus forged with the remaining material of Achillies Divine Armor.

2<[IB-01: CEL 240

<{World Origin: Armored Core

<{Item Type: Mecha

<{Rank: C+

<{Lore Description: IB-01: CEL 240 was created by the Rubicon Research Institute to protect Rubicon 3 from Coral-related disasters. After the Fires of Ibis and the collapse of the Institute, the CEL 240 and other Coral powered-machinery like the IA-02: ICE WORM are now "piloted" by the Coral consciousness within it.

<{Skill Description:

+Coral Orbit weapons with 2-shot Burst fire; can also deploy several more and act as Coral Oscillator blades X 2

-Description: Orbit Weapons are remote weaponry that "orbit" in the air and fire autonomously at any target within range. Although generally used on Armored Cores, it is not uncommon to see Muscle Tracers or other units outfitted with similar devices. This weapon comes in two types: Orbit Cannons and Exceed Orbits.

+Laser Blades with Wave capability; can also become two Coral Oscillators X 2

-Description: Unlike conventional swords wielded by hand, laser blades in the Armored Core series are forearm attachments which project a stream of energy similar to lightsabers of the Star Wars franchise or beam sabers from the Gundam franchise. They deal moderate to high damage

Some "laser blades" do not actually form a blade; instead, they create an energy wave projection which is thrown forward a good distance. This projection is called a blade wave, and can also be done with all laser blades provided the user has Human PLUS capabilities or the AC is equipped with OP-INTENSIFY.

+Coral Oscillators in Boosters X 2

3<[Lostvayne

<{World Origin: Seven Deadly Sins

<{Item Type: Sacred Treasure, Short Sword

<{Rank: C--->B (Depends on how many copies you create)

<{Lore Description: Lostvayne is a curved shortsword with the Dragon tattoo emblem into its hilt and five holes along the middle of the sharp blade, and 5 half-moon holes along the other side of the blade. The blade is split into two different colors, the sharp part is silver and the opposite is a dark green moss. When Meliodas uses Assault Mode, the blade of Lostvayne apparently turns completely red.

Lostvayne was entrusted to Meliodas by King Bartra, and was in Meliodas' possession until 10 years ago when he sold it in order to raise money to open the Boar Hat. Merlin later bought it from a pawn shop in Camelot and kept hold of it until she returned it to Meliodas during the Albion's attack on Camelot.

<{Skill Description: By saying the command "Sacred Treasure Activate", the user can use Lostvayne's abilities.

+Jitsuzo Bunshin: Lostvayne's special ability that allows the user to create up six clones of himself. The clones only retain a fraction of the original's power, with one clone having half the power level of the original. The halved power level is divided among each additional clone. Each Physical Clone is still able to use the originals special skills and abilities.

[Physical Description on How it works/IMG]

4<[Night Sky

<{World Origin: Sword Art Online

<{Item Type: Long Sword,

<{Rank: C--->EX (Rank increase depends soley on what type of stuff the sword absorbs)

<{Lore Description: The Night Sky Sword is made of wood and is pitch black in color. It is around 120 centimeters long.

The Night-Sky Blade was made by a craftsman, named Sadore, from the Gigas Cedar's branch that received the most blessings from Solus and Terraria and which Kirito and Eugeo had taken from the Cedar after cutting it down. It took a year for the craftsman to finish the sword, even breaking three black brick whetstones from the eastern empire, which were supposed to last ten years, in the process.

<{Skill Description: Due to the sword's origin, the Night-Sky Blade has the ability to absorb the energies around it. The resources absorbed can be used for things such as strengthening the sword, increasing it's length, and using the resources as a source to cast spells.

+Perfect Weapon Controll: Perfect weapons control is the unleashing of the item's memories, unlocking more of its power for the user to use. There are two stages, [Enhance Armament] in which the user releases only a few of the memories of the item, and [release Recollection] in which the user unseals the items full memories, giving access to the user its full power

-Enhance Armament: The enhancing phase of the Night-Sky Blade summons forth pitch black tendrils from the sword's blade which form into a spear that has the texture of the Gigas Cedar, the sword's origin. The spear absorbs the sacred resources it comes into contact with, growing stronger as a result, and has astonishing force.

-Release Recollection: The releasing phase of the Night-Sky Blade absorbs vast amounts of sacred resources around it on a very wide scale. The range of sword's absorption can be largely expanded by covering the area in a night sky.

5<[Full Counter (Magical)

<{World Origin: Seven Deadly Sins

<{Skill Type: Magic, Counter Spell (Magic)

<{Rank: B-

<{Lore Description:

<{Skill Description: At its core, Full Counter enables its wielder to reflect attacks aimed at them back at their enemy, but with more than double the power; therefore, the stronger the opponent's powers are, the stronger the user's power becomes. However, the main drawbacks to this power are that the user cannot initiate any attacks themselves, and they would not be able to reflect attacks if the opponent does not allow them to read the nature and timing of their attacks

+Counter vanish: With his palm facing an incoming attack, the user folds his thumb and little finger. He then, rather than reflecting "magic" attacks, completely disperses the attacks used against him

+Revenge Counter: The user turns off his abilities so that he can take damage. After the user has taken enough damage, he charges his blade with power and strikes his enemy with it. This is considered to be the user's ultimate attack.

6<[Hermes Trismegistus

<{World Origin: Overlord

<{Item Type: Armor

<{Rank: EX/Divine Class

<{Lore Description: This item was made specifically to complement Albedo's special skill that transfers any damage she receives onto the armor.

A sturdy three-part suit of pitch-black armor crafted in the resemblance of a devil. A pair of horns would sprout across both sides of the helm while the exterior surface of the suit is covered with spikes. Aside from the thinly carved slit that serves as a visor, the armor does not reveal even the tiniest exposure of flesh.

The innermost layer is an assimilation armor in liquid form which fits the body perfectly and enhances physical abilities. The next layer is a complete full-body armor layer, like an undershirt. And finally, the outermost layer covers the inner layers and increases defenses even more. In order, the layers break by: 1) additional armor, 2) full-body armor, and 3) assimilation armor.

<{Skill Description: Though classified as a Divine Class Item, it specializes solely in insane physical defense with no other abilities. Due to its three layers, it would take three attacks to break the armor. Besides having defensive power, the armor doesn't seem to possess any other noteworthy abilities

7<[Vibranium Ingot X 5

<{World Origin: Marvel Universe

<{Item Type:

<{Rank: C-

<{Lore Description:Vibranium is a nearly indestructible element that crash-landed as meteorites from outer space millennia ago into the Atlantic Ocean near the Yucatán and the African region that became Wakanda. The element severely impacted the environment, enriching the soil and plant life. The vibranium-enriched plants near the Yucatán caused a group of humans to transform into Talokanil, who formed the secret underwater nation of Talokan where the vibranium deposits in the ocean were

<{Skill Description: In a pure mass, vibranium forms a solid metal that is stronger than steel, but only a third of the weight, as well as being completely vibration absorbent. This makes the material nearly indestructible, as any attempt to physically damage the material will be negated on a molecular level as mechanical/kinetic energy will be absorbed instead of breaking any bonds in its molecular matrix. In general, this means that vibranium can absorb a wide variety of physical impacts, including high-caliber bullets, without taking any damage or weakening.

Vibranium also deflects kinetic energy. Captain America's vibranium shield for example, was able to deflect high-caliber bullets, Iron Man's repulsor beams (by having them ricochet into enemy Chitauri), and even an impact from Mjølnir itself (in the form of a massive shock-wave that sent Thor flying back). Captain America's shield has also been known to be thrown at high velocities without being affected by wind resistance and is able to ricochet off of multiple surfaces, exemplifying vibranium's tensile strength and rigidity.

Vibranium has magnetic properties, as Bobbi Morse used her battle staves to procure the Toolbox from its container with magnetism and Captain America's Shield could return to his arm by using a magnetic device.

According to Ulysses Klaue, vibranium is not just a metal, as the Wakandans sew it into their clothes and they used it to power their city, their technology, and their weapons.

Vibranium in its metal form can also conduct electricity, as shown when Black Widow used her Black Widow's Bite to electrocute and slow down Black Panther.

The nearly-indestructible metal is also sonoluminescent; energy cannot be destroyed and only converted into another form, such as when Thor struck Captain America's shield with his hammer, it created soundwaves in the hammer, while the shield converted the blow into blue, ultraviolet light.

But vibranium is vulnerable and rendered defunct by sonic-based equipment.

<{World Origin: Elden Ring

<{Item Type: Katana

<{Rank: C

<{Lore Description: This katana was forged of glintstone. Masterpiece of a Sellian swordsmith.
