The day of the triennial Helsing Recruitment Drive was often a source of great excitement and anticipation within the Inner Zone of the city, particularly for the military recruits that hoped to join their ranks. The juxtaposing sense of infamy and reclusiveness that surrounded Unit 2-18 was unique amongst the other specialised teams and their state-of-the-art equipment and weaponry were highly coveted.
And this year in particular, with the threat of war hanging over the city like a heavy fog, the hopeful recruits appeared to be more charged and excitable than ever before to join the ranks of the notorious vampire hunters. Yet, the Helsings themselves were filled with trepidation as they prepared to alight the Tank, arriving outside the gates of the Zone 2 military academy.
