Chapter 138 - Chapter 138

After sending the message, Lin Yi whispered to Akemi, "I'm going to the bathroom for a moment..."

"Mm." Akemi nodded, watching as Lin Yi walked away.

Once he was out of sight, Akemi couldn't help but smile, but as she thought about something, she suddenly felt annoyed.

When she was upset, she could only drink a beer and keep drinking.

The bitterness of the beer helped soothe the bitterness in her heart.

At that moment, Akemi noticed that the noises behind her were getting louder. She couldn't help but turn around and saw that the customers at the next table were arguing.

"Hey, hey, hey, Tanaka, why don't you drink more!?"

A middle-aged man, clearly drunk, slammed his hand on the table as he looked at another man with disdain.

"Nagano, I don't feel like drinking, you guys drink if you want, I don't need to join in."

"What? You don't feel like drinking?" Nagano jumped up, shouting, "If you don't want to drink, why are you here?! You're ruining the whole vibe!"

"Alright, alright, enough," one of Nagano's friends quickly said. "Sit down and calm down a bit, the others are watching us."

"Bah! I can't stand this. Fine, let him sit here and keep staring into space, we'll go drink somewhere else."

Nagano grabbed his coat and, with two other friends, turned to leave.

However, when he saw Akemi sitting, his face suddenly lit up. He made a sharp turn and sat down in front of her, calling his friends to sit as well: "Come on, here's a good table... and there's a pretty girl."

The other two friends laughed and sat down.

Akemi frowned and warned, "Sorry, this table is already taken."

"Oh, it's taken?" Nagano looked at the table and then at Akemi. "Is that your boyfriend?"

"No, just a friend," Akemi replied.

"Ah... just a friend, that's great," Nagano laughed loudly, looking at his friends. "So now we're friends, right? As friends, we can drink together, can't we?"

The other two nodded and smiled.

"Yeah, yeah, now we're friends, right, pretty girl?"

"Hey, waiter! Bring three glasses and three pairs of chopsticks!"

Akemi, unable to do anything about the situation, resigned herself and thought she was unlucky.

"Hey, miss," Nagano said, banging his hand on the table impatiently, "are you ignoring us? Don't you want to be friends with us?"

"Can I answer that another day?" Akemi tried to brush them off.

"Sure..." Nagano nodded, laughing shamelessly. "Then... give me your phone number, I'll ask you another day."

"My number..."

To get rid of them as quickly as possible, Akemi changed three numbers on her phone and gave them to him.

"Alright!" Nagano, happy, took out his phone and said, "I'm going to call you now."

Akemi could only think that her head hurt. Why was this guy so annoying?

Nagano dialed the number, but as expected, it didn't connect.

He slammed his hand on the table again, frustrated, and exclaimed, "You lied to me, pretty girl! You know lying isn't right! If you didn't want to be my friend, just tell me, don't lie!"

Akemi, despite everything, remained calm. "Sorry, I don't want to be friends with you or your friends. Could you please leave?"

"Leave? Fine," Nagano smiled. He picked up a glass and said, "Each of us will drink three glasses... and when we're done, we'll leave."

It was the best way to resolve the situation without resorting to violence.

Akemi looked at him and said, "I hope you'll keep your word..."

Saying that, she raised her glass and clinked it with his. But just as she was about to drink, someone snatched the glass from her.

Who else could it be but Lin Yi?

The timing was perfect!

When Akemi saw Lin Yi arrive, she couldn't help but show a relieved expression, something she didn't even notice herself.

"Hey, buddy, are you getting involved in something that's none of your business?"

Nagano, seeing what Lin Yi was doing, frowned.

"Before I do anything, you better leave."

Lin Yi said these words calmly but with authority.

"Bang!" Nagano threw his glass on the floor, furious. "What did you say?"

The other two quickly stood up to back up their friend.

Lin Yi said nothing. He took Akemi's chair and quietly told her, "Wait outside."

Akemi hesitated for a moment before saying, "It's better... that you don't get into a fight."

Lin Yi thought for a second and replied, "I can't promise you that..."

Seeing that Akemi still wanted to say something, Lin Yi gently pushed her toward the door. "It's better if you go outside... If a fight starts, I won't be able to protect you, and besides..."

"...the scene might get bloody."

Akemi looked at Lin Yi and then at the three intimidating men. She couldn't help but nod. "Then be careful."

"I will." Lin Yi said that before she turned and left. As soon as she stepped outside, the sound of a violent fight erupted from inside.

All that could be heard was the crashing of blows and the noise of the fight, and Akemi couldn't help but look back. However, the alarmed crowd pushed her out.

The sound of glasses, utensils, and tables breaking, along with people screaming...

Akemi wanted to take a look to see what was going on, but the fleeing customers started to form a crowd and blocked the door, leaving her with no choice but to give up.

Anyway, she didn't think those three drunks could be a match for Lin Yi; she had already witnessed how skilled he was in hand-to-hand combat.

She only worried that Lin Yi might be too rough.

Soon after, the noise inside died down. The crowd automatically moved aside, giving way to Lin Yi, who shook off his clothes as he came out.

"Are you okay?"

Although she trusted Lin Yi's skills, Akemi couldn't help but worry.

"I'm fine... how could some drunk guys be a match for me?" Lin Yi smiled confidently.

"Good... let's go, I don't want the police to arrive." Akemi said as she turned to leave.

"Mm..." Lin Yi took two steps but suddenly stopped and remembered something. "Wait."

Akemi looked at him, curious, as Lin Yi came back. Suddenly, a cry of pain was heard, and Lin Yi came out again, this time with a paint tube in his hands.

"I forgot something," Lin Yi said.

Akemi scolded him, "Even if you went to get your stuff, there was no need to hit people again."

Although she scolded him, she felt so happy inside.
