The ride to the court took just about twenty minutes, but for Aneira, it felt longer than that. Her heart kept racing in her chest the closer they got. Sitting beside Jaxton in the back seat, she kept glancing out the window, not really seeing anything. Her palms were sweaty. She rubbed them over her skirt quietly, trying not to show her nerves.
Jaxton who sat beside her, scrolling through something on his phone knew she wasn't calm. Every now and then, his hand would reach out and rest gently on hers. He didn't say anything, but a quiet reassurance that she wasn't alone in this.
When the car finally stopped in the court premises, Aneira could already spot the familiar faces of the Grigoras family by the steps. Haisley was the first to notice their arrival. Her eyes immediately softened as she rushed forward, not even waiting for Aneira to fully climb out of the car.
