At this moment, the small item Sato took out was none other than the black-green badge—the personal emblem given to him by Boss Giovanni himself.

The balding elder was no fool. As one of Team Rocket's core appraisers, he immediately recognized the significance of the object placed on the table.

What he didn't expect was that the Rocket member standing before him was actually a direct subordinate of the Team Rocket boss.

In the elder's memory, there were very few individuals who had received this black-green badge from Giovanni, and without exception, they were all terrifyingly powerful Trainers.

Take, for instance, the one currently commanding Team Rocket's entire Saffron City division: The Psychic Queen, Sabrina. She was also one of Giovanni's personal protégés and unwaveringly loyal to him.

Yes, the elder's direct superior was none other than Sabrina. And when dealing with someone who could seemingly read minds, the elder's only response was a mix of deep respect and dread.

For anything related to Sabrina—even if it were merely tangential—he would give 200% effort. Not just him, in fact. Practically every Rocket member scraping by in Saffron City operated with the same philosophy.

After all, offending the Psychic Queen was nothing short of disastrous. Even the lightest punishment meant getting turned into a doll for a week.

There had once been a loudmouth who dared say something bad about Sabrina behind her back. The next day, he was found in his bed—transformed into a plush doll.

Everyone thought he had fled out of guilt, but a week later, when he reappeared in his dorm room at the base, people finally realized… he had been there the whole time, just as a doll.

After that, the guy—who used to be quite the bragger and gossip—walked further and further down the path of reclusion. But strangely enough, he did become significantly stronger and was now in a position of power.

Snapping back to the present, the bald elder quickly grabbed the antique phone beside him and, relying on memory, dialed a direct communication channel to speak with Sabrina.

As a top-level appraiser, his position within the Saffron City Team Rocket base wasn't low. In no time, the call went through.

And as expected of Giovanni's number-one faction member, Sabrina didn't even hesitate when the elder explained that Sato carried a black-green badge. She immediately agreed to the elder's proposal and ordered several Dragon-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon eggs from the base's vault to be brought over.

With Sabrina's approval, everything proceeded smoothly. Within minutes, a Alakazam radiating terrifying psychic energy appeared in the appraisal room, levitating four eggs contained in temperature-controlled, reinforced glass chambers.

When the Alakazam saw Sato and the elder, it cast them both a condescending glance. Without a word, it carefully placed the four eggs on the table, then floated silently midair—supervising the exchange while keeping watch over both of them.

"Level 88 Alakazam… That's definitely one of Sabrina's core Pokémon."

Sato secretly used his system's scan function to analyze the Alakazam that had just arrived, and its level made him inwardly gasp in surprise.

"Sir, thanks to Alakazam's assistance, all four Dragon-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon eggs from the vault have been brought over. These two are Dratini, this one is Bagon, and the last is Gible."

Clearly familiar with Alakazam, the elder had been just as startled by its sudden appearance. He quickly flattered it with a sycophantic smile before pointing out the four eggs on the table for Sato.

Sato nodded without speaking. He immediately used his system to scan each of the four precious eggs, hoping to find the perfect Dragon-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon for himself.

Staring at the stat panels for the four Dragon-type pseudo-legendary eggs, Sato fell silent in deep thought, mentally weighing the pros and cons to determine his best choice.

The first Dratini could be ruled out immediately. Both its IVs and inherited moves were clearly inferior to the other three.

That left three very tempting candidates. If it was purely about IVs, Gible was the obvious winner—its stats were outstanding, even hitting a gold-grade IV rating.

Sato hadn't expected to get so lucky as to stumble upon a gold-grade Dragon-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon egg. In terms of bloodline purity, Gible was clearly the top choice.

But both Dratini and Bagon weren't bad either. While their stats didn't quite reach Gible's level, they had something else: inherited access to the powerful move Dragon Dance.

Dragon-type pseudo-legendaries were known for blooming late. In early stages, their battle power was roughly on par with other Pokémon—and in the mid-game, they could even fall behind.

But inheriting a high-level move early, especially something like Dragon Dance, could change everything.

Dragon Dance was one of the most potent boosting moves a Dragon-type Pokémon could learn. With that move alone, a pseudo-legendary could sweep through teams. Even in early and mid-stages, they'd dominate most opponents.

If Sato chose Gible, he'd need to be prepared for a long haul. Due to its slow development, Gible would struggle early on and might suffer frequent defeats against more developed Pokémon.

Choosing Dratini or Bagon would make things much easier. With Dragon Dance, they could dominate even in the early game, allowing Sato to raise them freely without babysitting them constantly.

Between all of them, Sato initially leaned more toward either Bagon or Gible, primarily because their final evolutions—Salamence and Garchomp—were capable of Mega Evolution, unlike Dragonite.

However, Dragonite had unique strengths: broad move coverage, access to Ice-type moves most Dragon-types couldn't learn, and most importantly—it could learn Extreme Speed, a signature move unmatched by any other.

In a mirror match between Dragons, Sato was certain that a late-game Dragonite trained in Extreme Speed and Ice-type moves—even without Mega Evolution—could thrash both Salamence and Garchomp.

In the end, after careful deliberation, Sato made his decision. He chose the Dratini egg that had inherited both Dragon Dance and Dragon Rush.

While Mega Evolution was tempting, evolution stones for Salamence and Garchomp were incredibly hard to find. And without dedicated training manuals, investing in them was a huge gamble.

Dratini, on the other hand, was different.

Sato had already located someone who possessed in-depth knowledge of training Dratini.

That person was none other than Professor Oak, whose Level 96 Dragonite had left a lasting impression on him.

What sealed the deal for Sato was this: Professor Oak's Dragonite had indeed mastered Extreme Speed. That gave Sato hope—hope that he could train his Dratini to learn the move without relying on the secret techniques of the Dragon Clans.
