"Unown!!!"
"Unown!!!"
"Unown!!!"
As those mysterious creatures shaped like letters with a single eye in the center appeared, many members of Team Rocket in the expedition team screamed in alarm, a trace of fear flashing in their eyes.
"This is bad. Even Unown—those troublesome ruin Pokémon—are showing up. That means the danger level of this ruin just jumped several times over. Tomoki definitely left this part out on purpose."
Although Sato had already anticipated the possibility of encountering Unown—strange Pokémon with extremely high risk factors—seeing them with his own eyes still sent a chill down his spine.
Individually, Unown might not amount to much. But once they appear in groups, things turn terrifying. Especially when they begin aligning in strange patterns—that's when Unown inevitably unleash their incredible powers.
Sato had heard from relic-hunting antiquarians who'd explored ancient ruins before: if you ever run into a large swarm of Unown inside a ruin, the first thing to do is run as far away as possible. Otherwise, you might face something truly terrifying.
"Whatever you do, do not attack them or the stone door behind us! If you do, something much worse will happen!"
Hearing the panicked shouting, Tomoki quickly raised his voice and barked a command at the others.
Those Team Rocket members who had originally wanted to disrupt the Unown formation—or try breaking down the stone door to escape—froze in their tracks, immediately abandoning any thoughts of attacking.
The Unown moved rapidly, aligning into formation at breakneck speed. Once they were arranged, intense waves of energy and blinding white light burst from their bodies.
In an instant, the dimly lit hall lit up like it was midday.
And then, before the horrified eyes of Sato and the many Team Rocket members entering the Mew Ruins for the first time—
The shattered remains of the ancient puppet soldiers scattered around the hall began to rapidly piece themselves back together under the influence of the Unown's mysterious power. Soon, complete Golett, Golurk, Baltoy and Claydol began to reform.
Finally, under the combination of countless stone blocks and mud, a massive Golurk—easily five times larger than its typical kin—formed in front of them.
This enormous Golurk not only dwarfed its peers in size but had a different appearance as well: both shoulders were fitted with cannon-like armor, and in its hands it wielded a massive halberd that gleamed cold and sharp.
The halberd was inlaid with numerous unknown gems, glowing brilliantly in dazzling colors, casting a multicolored sheen across the weapon's entire surface.
As the gigantic Golurk finished forming, the eyes in its enormous head blazed with a blinding red light. A terrifying aura instantly erupted from its massive frame.
Then it slammed its halberd down onto the floor—
BOOM!
The entire hall trembled violently, as if it were on the verge of collapse.
"Holy crap... the Unown summoned reinforcements—and not just one, but a whole army!"
Sato's eye twitched as he stared at the army of ancient puppet soldiers, led by the towering Golurk. The sheer force of it made his heart skip a beat.
Thanks to the detection capabilities of his system, he could clearly assess the power levels of this ancient puppet army.
Leaving the giant Golurk aside for a moment, even the numerous ancient puppet soldiers surrounding it were no joke—each one was at least level 45.
There were nearly two hundred of these soldiers in total, and among them, the Golurk and Claydol variants were all over level 50.
As for that unique, giant Golurk at the center—it was a puppet soldier comparable to an Elite Four level Pokémon. Not only did it have a level of 70, but the system's data also revealed it possessed multiple powerful special abilities.

....
Once the Giant Golurk fully formed, the energy stored within the massive Unown seemed to deplete. They immediately flew back to the walls on either side of the hall and returned to lifeless stone statues.
"Quick, hit it first! Everyone, attack the Giant Golurk! Once it's defeated, the passage to the second level will appear!"
Tomoki clearly wasn't seeing this monster for the first time. As soon as the Unown reverted to stone, he shouted loudly to the surrounding Team Rocket members.
"Garchomp, Dragon Pulse! Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Ice Beam!"
With that, he hurled three PokeBalls and issued swift commands to his Pokémon.
"Blastoise, Hydro Cannon! Victreebel, Leaf Storm! Cloyster, Icicle Spear! Vileplume, Energy Ball!"
Following Tomoki's lead, his subordinates released a flood of Water- and Grass-type Pokémon and ordered them to join the barrage against the Giant Golurk.
In an instant, a barrage of powerful Water- and Grass-type moves surged toward the titan. The scene was overwhelmingly intense—if even a few of those attacks landed, the monster would likely fall despite its incredible strength.
But the Giant Golurk didn't panic at all.
Its eyes suddenly flashed red, and all the previously motionless Baltoy, Claydol, Golett and Golurk scattered around the battlefield lit up with the same terrifying crimson glow.
Suddenly, the entire puppet army turned into suicide defenders—rising into the air and placing themselves between the oncoming attacks and their commander.
BOOM!
A massive explosion rocked the chamber.
The puppet soldiers were shredded by the onslaught, instantly reduced to scattered debris raining down onto the floor.
But thanks to their sacrifice, the Giant Golurk remained completely unharmed. Even the shockwaves from the explosion were nullified by a newly formed black energy shield.
Before the smoke cleared, the titan's counterattack had already begun.
It gripped the Titan Halberd with both hands, charging it with terrifying Electric-type energy. The blade began to emit a blinding electric glow.
Then—
With a wide horizontal swing aimed at a cluster of Team Rocket members roughly seven or eight meters away, the titan released a gigantic slash of raw electricity.
KRRAK-KOOM!
A massive thunderclap roared through the hall as the electric energy slash surged forward like a bolt of divine judgment.
