Grey shut his eyes and screamed,
"I don't want to become a hunter!"
His voice echoed like a tremor through the air, as if the whole world had gone silent for a moment.
"It's okay."
Grey's eyes slowly opened at the sound of that voice.
Standing in front of him was Amara.
The breeze danced around her, making her hair flow like golden ribbons under the sun. In Grey's eyes, she was glowing—bright like the sun and warm enough to melt all his fears away.
He froze, staring at her in awe.
"Is it... okay? Can I really do that?"
Amara knelt down to meet his eyes, smiling softly.
"You can be whatever you want to be, Grey. You don't have to listen to anyone else. Your life is yours alone—not anyone else's."
Grey's eyes widened. He clutched the hem of his shirt, trembling as his voice cracked.
"I... I want to travel around the world… visit new places… meet new people. There's so much I want to eat... and I want to make friends. There's so much I want to do!"
