"Wh..what the hell?!" Manson screamed at the giant creature before her made completely out of snakes.
"Ohhh, if it isssn't Mrsss. Manson! Lassst I sssaw you I wasss getting thrown into a ssslammer! Kind of my dad to bail me out! The sssame dad you're trying to ssssteal from me!" The creature sscreamed, glaring a sssinisster sssmile at her and showing two giant fangsss to sssend hisss point accrosss.
And his voice sounded so familiar to her...
"Wait... that voice, it sounds like... that delinquent Snek. What the hell? I thought you went steady! What are you doing here? What would your father think?" Manson shouted, disappointed at what her stepson had become.
"He'sss not here and he doesssn't know it'sss me! And he won't ever know once I get rid of dear old ssstepmom before ssshe tellsss him! Plusss, I'll get to remove the bitch who thought sssshe could replace my mom!!"
"Oh Snek! That's not why I..."
Snek sent his giant snake-composed fist hurtling towards her and, in a split second, the fist hit the ground, crushing her, three of her nearest men, and her police car in the process.
That is, if the trio hadn't gotten them out of the way.
Jake held her in his arms as he zipped away with his super speed. Zack and Stacya did their best to save the others.
"W..what the hell are you doing, you freak?" Manson asked when she realized she was in the hands of a super.
No, a vigilante...
"Helping you! Something we both want to do," Jake said calmly as the trio set the policemen down and directed their attention to Snek.
And as the other policemen directed their firearms at the heroes.
"You two have some beef, huh?" Jake asked Manson jokingly.
"That's none of your business, freak!"
"Well, stopping him before he hurts himself or others is my business, and I can't do that with your men pointing guns at me or my friends."
Manson then looked around and motioned for the officers to direct their attention to the literal giant man made of snakes.
"Thanks, officer," Jake said, getting only a strange look from the chief.
"Okay... Za... I mean... uh... What was it again? Ah! Expander! You got a plan to beat this thing?"
It's Expanding Man! And if we target the outside, we'll surely get bitten, so..."
"We target the meat within," Stacya said with a childlike smile from ear to ear.
"Ok, great idea, but how the hell are we supposed to get inside him? The only hole is his mouth and every other crevice is surrounded by snakes. Ones that can take you down in one bite, Stacya."
"I appreciate the concern, Zack, that's why you'll be the catalyst for my plan."
"Plan?"
Stacya then held Jake and Zack and hiddled them together to tell them her plan. Soon after the trio got out of sight before Manson could ask any questions.
As soon as the policemen began firing at Snek, he hissed loudly once more and a green liquid started forming in his giant mouth.
And Manson just noticed it.
"Men! Watch out!!" Manson screamed so her men would move out of range. But with no designated target in sight, she realized she was too late.
As Snek sprayed a wave of deadly venom on all the policemen surrounding him.
"Snek! No!! What have you done?!"
"What I'm about to do to you!"
"No, Snek! This ain't you! You're a good kid in a bad place! It's the Mutoxin talking! You gotta resist it!"
"I would've taken thisss ssshit earlier if I knew it'd be my ticket to getting rid of the bitch intending to ssssteal my dad from me!!"
"You know very well that's not true! Your dad and I are together because he lo..."
"Oh ssshut it and die!" Snek said as he prepared another venom splash.
Until he got a strange smell.
A smell of policemen. Living policemen.
But they were supposed to be dead.
That was weird. He could've sworn he killed them all.
That's when he received a shot to the side. Once he turned to find who shot him, he received three more to his back that irritated him at best.
But they still irritated him.
And that's when he remembered what Mr. E told him before getting his own special dose of Mutoxin.
"Remember, my child. Take this and no one will ever irritate you again! Not your school! Not your dad! Not your stepmom! Not your rivals in your gang! Not anyone! With this, you will rise to the top of the food chain!"
And now was the time to do those words justice. But first, he needed to find the source of that gunfire.
"Wow, you are one ugly son of a gun up close, aren't you?"
Snek turned around to see Jake standing on a half-melted police car.
"Hey man, I'm giving you a chanccce to essscape here. Lemme kill the cop bitch, sssnag that tech, and get out of your hair..."
"Is there a way we can add in going to court, paying for your crimes, and giving that woman some respect?" Jake said, annoyed at how Snek addressed his mother.
From what he got from observing, like it or not, she was his mother and she wasn't giving up on him, so he had no right to insult her like this.
Especially when his own mom completely gave up on him.
"What the hell do you know about my life, you cossstume-wearing weirdo?"
"Oh? Why does everyone have a problem with the costume? I think it looks pretty good..."
But before Jake could finish his sentence, he was melted by a spray of venom.
Or was he?
"I mean, it's a bit tacky for my taste, but the symbol looks nice. I wonder what it's supposed to mean, though," Jake said, standing nonchalantly behind Snek and referencing his weirdly heart-shaped symbol.
Snek turned around and shot venom at him.
But he disappeared.
Snek shot another blast, but Jake disappeared before it even reached the ground. Suddenly, he received several shots to the back and realized:
This speedy clown had placed all the policemen in the buildings around him. Something he wouldn't have known if the E-toxin didn't crank his survival instincts to eleven.
"Maybe in those metaphorical type deals, right? Maybe it's supposed to stand for courage or some shit."
And another hit, but it missed again. He needed to focus on the speedster. Who knows what scheme he's cooking up?
"Like the courage to help everyone in need. Especially those who don't deserve it."
And another.
"Like stupid assholes that insult someone trying to lead them down the right path."
And another.
"Especially since the one helping them lost that kind of help a long time ago."
And another.
"But that's why I'm helping you. Along with my friends too."
That's when Snek realized what this little man was.
A distraction.
Once Snek sniffed out the location of his friends, he received a giant concrete ball to the face.
One which not only sent him flying out of his snake armor, but made it collapse into a mountain of snakes which quickly disappeared.
It was over. Snek had lost.
From a building not far from what happened, Zack and Stacya had hugged each other in celebration.
Her plan worked.
Shark Woman's ability allowed her to change the physical state of objects and bend them to her will, so by changing the concrete of a nearby building to liquid, she was free to mold it into any shape she wanted.
Like a giant baseball. The object of her recently learned favorite human sport.
And what good is a giant baseball without a giant hand to throw it? A giant hand Zack provided.
Snek woke up minutes later to see several blurry images before him.
And no memory of what happened.
Some guys in weird costumes talking to the cops.
Some cops looking in a van that had just crashed.
And some cops dragging him to a police car.
But the sight that caught him off guard was his stepmom.
"Mrs. Manson? What's going on? Where are we?"
"Don't worry, kid. I'll explain on the way," she said as she gave him a solemn smile, put him in the police car, and sent him off.
You know, Mrs. Manson could be a pain sometimes, but at least she knows how to send a guy to prison feeling happy.
But now there was the matter of the three vigilantes helping her out.
And the guy hiding on the van this whole time...
Oh, and of course, the electric sparks emanating from the van...
To be continued...
