"So you are awake?"
Alpha turned back, and looked at the window and Zero was standing in front of the small dinning table and looking at her. But still his mask was on and hairs red.
"You really spoiled my routine this night, I will be late for my work." Zero looked straight at Alpha and asked, "Anyways, I am making something with potatoes. You are fine with it, right?"
Alpha looked down with no reaction, she would now only have tasteless on her tongue after this.
"I will be fine. I will be still fine if you make nothing for me or to kick me out of the house."
Zero gave a sigh and he walked to the kitchen sides, picked up a knife, washed the potatoes and started cutting them safely.
"... It's really your choice." And Zero said while cutting potatoes, "If you have someone else and somewhere to live alone, you can leave. I will make anything to eat, just ask. It's your choice, my work is only to keep you away from danger. It doesn't has nothing to do with me...but I guess...now you are my responsibility."
Alpha was surprised by the words and she looked down-- but suddenly her legs hurt, they were numb by just sitting all the time and she was having problem to stand.
"Lay down on the floor to rest, your legs will become fine." Zero suggested and Alpha lied, keeping her legs straight and it felt better for her.
Zero focused on dinner and Alpha's legs were finally relaxing and improving...but Alpha didn't understand a few things.
"Hey..." Alpha called and Zero remain silent although he was listening, "...you said that whenever I got out of someone's eyes, they will forget me...but how can you remember me all the time?"
Zero smiled, "I am an exception, and it's not just you who lost the whole identity, once you were forgotten by everyone, so I was also forgotten by anyone."
Alpha's eyes widened with a great shock.
"You...have also lost your identity?"
"Yeah, but there's no one for me to remember. So I don't mind that."
And suddenly Alpha realized something and she asked while being completely confused, "Wait, you also have a job, right by which you have this house and everything? Won't you be forgotten by everyone in your job? Doesn't it means you have already lost your job?"
Zero was surprised by the question, he never thought that Alpha would think about his job. But he just smiled and answered, "Those who took me for the job would forget me, which I am sure about. But no one else knows my face."
Alpha was confused by it.
"I work in an organization where I don't use my name, actually no one does, and we have different names, everyone would always hide their faces by masks, and for entry they use fingerprints. And even if my identity is erased, my fingerprint is still the same. And the machine which takes fingerprints can't lose any data of its database because it's a magic and by magic it's sealed. My identity of my job wouldn't be erased by that."
Alpha was a little bit surprised, and also confused.
"...Do magic really exists?"
And Zero tried to control his laugh, he was thinking that Alpha would have accepted that magic do exists but he was wrong.
But Zero remain nice and answered, "Yes, magic exists. The Screen with whom you were talking is also something done by magic."
"...Screen?"
<"Did someone call me?">
And Alpha understood what Zero meant by Screen.
God of Time was doing nothing but suddenly she heard calling "Screen" which only Zero used to call her and it had became her daily, so by just one call she sent the Screen, although she can't hear Zero's calls anymore according to the 50-50 Promise.
"Um, nothing. I called you by mistake." Alpha said and Zero realized that God of Time actually came to her...but never came to him at the right time.
<"Oh, ok. If you want to talk with me anytime just call me like that. Or call Emi, I will be there.">
And the Screen disappeared.
Alpha was surprised by everything and she turned, looking inside the kitchen at me and with curiosity asked, "...By the way...what is your work actually? What do you do?"
Zero smiled.
"My job is...to eat human."
Alpha's eyes widened...and she started feeling of vomitting once again--
Zero laughed and explained, "Not actually humans, but we are still called Human Hunters so I was pranking over you. My job is to consume parasite's soul--"
And Alpha vomited this time. And Zero sat on his feet, "...I had just cleaned the floor... I should better explain her than pranking her."
Zero stood and walked to Alpha and tried to pat on her back but Alpha pushed him and shouted, "You are nothing different from them!!! And what you are making is also a human's flesh, right?!!!"
Zero gave a sigh, "Listen to me first, let me explain you everything."
Zero washed and cleaned the floor once again and explained to Alpha.
"You may don't know, but at human's complete population, 50% of them are parasites and 50% are normal humans. Parasites are basically like creatures who first take over a human, and dominant the human's soul, and start consuming it. Once a human soul is taken over a more dominating soul, the dominating one takes over the body. Parasites actually love eating humans and they are also called Human Hunters. And my job is to take over the parasite soul from the body, although by it human basically dies. But by that I get information about the parasite, after taking over them, make a report of whatever information the parasite has and then get paid monthly. That's my job, I don't eat humans."
Alpha was still afraid from Zero, and asked, "And...what information do you get?"
"Well, the main goal is to find a lead of the Parasite King who controls all the Parasites. Once we find it, all the Parasites will end. But at 50% of them are Parasites, it's hard. So normally I get the information of how many souls the parasite has captured in his body."
