Julius slumped as he stared at the behemoth that was his school assignment. They were tasked with writing down their plans for the future as if they were speaking to a close friend, which wasn't a hard thing to do under normal circumstances, except he had to write everything in Japanese.
Julius went into linguistics, and one of the program's requirements was taking at least one language. Since he was already familiar with French, Italian, Spanish, and Korean, his only options were Mandarin and Japanese. Both options seemed like a lot of work and effort, so Julius opted for the lesser of the two. He had been putting off the assignment for weeks and knew he couldn't stall any longer, so he cracked open a can of energy drink and got to work.
