Chapter 1:
"Do not underestimate mankind!!"
Came the roar booming over the fire and explosions happening all around me. Even concealed with a coffin of steel and electrical fibers, the cacophony of noise still had reached my ears.
It wasn't just those noise that assault my ears.
An array of them, blended together, unequally mixed into an unfavorable taste of a note. Missiles screaming across the smoke-filled sky, trailing tails of fire. Thunderous explosions echoed as they slammed into the ground around me, causing a multitude of volcanic eruptions of soot and dirt to shoot forth from the earth. Each explosion mixing in with I can also clearly tell are artillery rounds whizzing through the air till they to impacted.
Plumes of choking dust billowed upward, blackening the heavens. Mechanical steel feet stamped down inexorably through the haze and debris, flying through the air just briefly before crashing back down to the earth like meteor rain.
Screams of agony and pain blared in my ear. Oh, the screams, each one sent a chill down my spine. My own heartbeat echoed in my ears; my breath keeps getting caught in my mouth. It was hard to breathe. It wasn't any better with my eyes for there was too much to look out for. My hands and feet were stiff and cramping up, no surprise since they haven't stopped moving for the last few hours. Constantly moving, always moving with no rest.
How did I even get here?
Why are I even here? This has to be a dream, that's it, it has to be. It's not~!
Can someone please just tell me what's going on here?!
