Chapter 46 - A supposed cyclone

The streets bustled with the lively energy of the citizens of Zelvord, both young and old. They walked through the roads without a care in the world, not minding the loud roar coming from the distance.

Those who had already sensed the strange phenomenon had prepared themselves for a powerful force.

And as they expected, the loud roar of wind blew past them, throwing them off their feet, pulling away women's purses and men's coats like leaved in a storm. The trees hung onto the ground as if they were in a hurricane, and the cars rattled like pieces of metal thrown into a tornado.

Meanwhile...

"Mr. Ayan, the news company, is demanding explanations as to why there is a supposed 'cyclone' in the city when you assured today it was going to be a very sunny day.

What should I do?" Awana, the assistant of the great wizard; Ayan Alexander, spoke as she hung up the phone.

"Just tell them a magic beast is flying in the sky and that a team of heroes will be sent to deal with it." Ayan answered, polishing the azure gem on his staff.

"Are you sure they'll believe it?" Awana asked again.

"It's better than saying that a student, the same one that passed out during an invasion from the SID; known for being one of the worst peoplein Urthopia, is already well and is running around the city."

"Isn't it?" Ayan asked, removing the cloth from the gem and instead beginning to polish the ring on his ring finger.

"Yes, but -" Awana opened her mouth to speak again when Ayan rose his frail hand to the sky.

"That's quite enough, Awana." The woman closed her mouth, the authority of the wizard shining though.

The woman bowed her head and exited the room, not wanting to anger the wizard.

As she stepped foot out of the room, a stream blood trickled down the wizard's silver beard.

"Damnit! These relics are taking too much of a toll on me."

"So why don't you take the life force of that 'Zelvord'. It'll save you a great deal of pain." A deep voice struck though the silence of the room.

"Like hell I'd do that." Ayan said as he gave a slight chuckle at the attempt.

A blue silhouette resembling that of a fox formed in front of the Headmaster.

"It'd be easy with the 'Ring of Eternal Gluttony.' You just have to say the word."

"Yes. Go catch a hen, you fox!" He said, channelling Light energy into his his hand.

It shot towards the spirit, breaking his upper body. Gradually, the silhouette disappeared, leaving the old man alone.
