Chapter 42 - Chapter 41

A classmate then walked up to Kenji as he looked at them, Kenji noticed the galaxy-like nebula their hair sported. Naoki had been the one to take Kenji's order as he yawned and didn't want to be there. His bed was calling to him but he had to get through this entire thing first.

"How can…" Naoki yawned mid-sentence, "…I help you sir…" he rubbed his eyes tiredly.

"Huh…You do look like your dad from a hair standpoint…" Kenji unknowingly pointed out.

"Huh…?" Naoki didn't fully process it as he was slightly wobbling just keeping himself from falling over and sleeping.

"Oh sorry, can I get…" Kenji quickly looked at the menu, skimming over before looking back at Naoki, "I'll take a number 5."

Naoki scribbled it down very sluggishly as Naoki yawned again, nodding and walking towards the red curtains.

Kimura would finish taking an order and look over where Kenji sat, alone and near the back wall. He looks around as he hands his pen and notebook to another student. "Care to take this behind the curtains for me? Thanks." Kimura asked as the student looked a little confused but obliged either way.

He then walked over towards Kenji as Kenji heard the footsteps coming and looked over. "I thought I gave your classmate my order son." he said confused as Kimura pulled the chair back slightly and sat down in it.

"He did, I'm just…here to talk to you dad…" Kimura sighed, hunching over slightly as he reseted his arms on his legs.

Kenji and Kimura just sat there quietly, Kimura sitting rather informally hunched over not even facing the table. Kenji on the other hand was sitting straight, his posture was upright and his hands were on the table with his fingers interlocked with each other. They didn't say a word to each other as the air between them was awkward even for a father and son.

"So how's school?" Kenji asked.

"Fine, School's fine dad…" Kimura was seemingly distraught by something as he sat up in the chair.

"Is it now? You seem to be having a…hard time from the looks of it." Kenji replied.

"No seriously, I'm okay." Kimura replied back.

"…Are you shouldering something again?" Kenji asked, "I know that face when I see it."

Kimura took a deep breath as he looked over at Kenji, Kenji was giving a sincere look of overall concern as Kimura couldn't help but finally let his tough guy persona crumble for a brief moment.

"…I'm…sorry dad…" Kimura mutters.

"Sorry?" Kenji replied confused.

"The day I stormed out." Kimura reminded him, "The day I left home and never look back I…It was stupid of me to do that."

Kenji's confused look shifted to a small smile as he pats his son on the head, Kimura flinched but stayed still for his father. "You're still hanging onto that like a little kid." Kenji chuckled, Kimura didn't understand what he meant as he looked over at Kenji.

"You must've been shouldering that burden ever since you left home huh…" Kenji questioned Kimura.

"I…" Kimura hesitated.

With a sudden pat on Kimura's back, Kenji smiled as one of the students came walking over with Kenji's order. Kenji repositioned himself as Kimura got up and left his dad to eat at the table. As much as he wanted to express his stress to his dad, he was still at school. Not long after, Kimura would take off the suit and leave into the halls for security once again.

Kimura swiftly slips out of his homeroom class as he tunes his handheld radio to one of the pre-set channels. While tuning, Kimura walks downstairs and out the back to focus on the radio. It was…32-1… he finished tuning it as he heard some of the other security students talking on the radio, his eyes lit up a bit that he found the radio as he shut it off briefly.

With that out of the way…

Kimura walks around the building rather than through as he's had enough of people walking and chatting for the moment. Going around lets him clear up and air out his thoughts, the wind giving a slight breeze was literally a breath of fresh air for him. He then slowed down as he saw Erudis looking at his phone leaning against the wall.

"Erudis?" Kimura questioned.

"Huh?" Erudis looked at him, "Oh Kimura, what brings you around the building?" he asks.

"I was just about to ask you the same thing, what are you doing here?" Kimura replied.

"Well…I just got a nifty little text…" he gave a soft smile.

Erudis showed his screen as the screen showed a name, Vivias. Underneath the name was a long string of text from this person and himself. His eyes glanced over at it as he saw one thing that stuck out, Break up.

"Oh…uh okay that's…" Kimura rubs the back of his head.

"No it's okay, It's not like I need to care anymore…" Erudis bit his lower lip slightly.

Kimura watched Erudis stand up from leaning on the wall as Erudis sighs briefly, looking up at the bright blue sky with a couple clouds. He took another deep breath as Kimura felt the air around him was heavy with sadness. It wasn't his say on what Erudis should and shouldn't feel but all he could do was just spectate.

As the sun began to set, students were cleaning up what was left of the festival. Kimura wasn't with the other students cleaning up, he was in Valor City with his father Kenji. This was the only time the two would be able to spend time with each other.

They walked around the sidewalk often stopping at crosswalks and taking some turns around blocks. "Why are we walking again?" Makoto asked him, Kenji smiled a little as the walk wasn't the main focus of it. "Don't worry about it, just tell me how the guys in the dorm room are." he told Makoto.
