Chapter 381 - Chapter 377: Return to America

As the elevator went down, what appeared before Jill and the others was a massive underground space filled with rows and rows of cryogenic sleep pods.

"What... are these?" Everyone who saw it was deeply shocked.

"This is Umbrella's version of Noah's Ark... The top people at Umbrella planned all of this. They wanted to use the virus to wipe out all of humanity—except for themselves—and then rebuild the world in their image, controlling all its resources! A perfect plan, isn't it?" Jill explained the truth of the whole situation, which she had learned from Josh, to the few survivors.

The anger in her voice made it clear how furious she was.

And the others were just as angry.

"So that's why you told us to bring all that C4!" Alice said coldly as she looked at all the cryogenic pods around them.

The others had the same cold expression.

None of them were the type to feel pity.

They didn't care if some of the people here were innocent or unaware.

All they knew was that everyone here had benefitted from Umbrella. And that was enough.

"Are you really going to destroy this place? What a waste. You could take control of everything—this base, Isaacs, and Alexia—and use it all to help humanity!" Josh said through the communicator, sounding a little regretful.

"I know. But I don't want to. If I did that, I'm afraid power would slowly change who I am... Umbrella is a global giant that never should've existed. So I won't just destroy this place—I'll wipe out all of Umbrella's secret bases across the world," Jill replied with a sigh, then firmly declared.

Because the combat suit Josh gave her had a voice-blocking function, Jill could talk to him without Alice and the others hearing anything.

Josh didn't argue with her decision. Since she had made up her mind, he chose not to push further.

"But don't worry, before I destroy each base, I'll send you all the data... Just promise you won't do the same thing Umbrella did in your world... Ah, I guess I'm overthinking it. With your level of technology, you don't even need Umbrella's tech," Jill said, laughing at herself as she thought about the advanced gear she had seen Josh use before.

While they spoke, the elevator reached the bottom.

At Jill's command, JD and Kaplan went to plant the C4 explosives, while she led Alice, Matt, and Rain to the area where Wesker, Isaacs, and Alexia were.

During their advance, Isaacs—already awakened by Wesker—sent several heavily armed Umbrella squads to stop them. But Jill, now fully enhanced, tore through these elite troops as easily as if they were zombies or Lickers.

She moved like a ghost, leaving only broken bodies behind.

Compared to her, the original main characters—Alice, Matt, and Rain—could only follow behind and take down whatever few enemies were left.

"Dr. Isaacs, nice to meet you. Didn't expect this day to come, did you?" Jill said coldly as she burst into the luxurious hall, sliced Wesker's bullets midair, then cut him in half with one strike of her heat blade.

Isaacs was sitting on a sofa. Jill pointed her weapon at him without hesitation.

As for Alexia, because Jill's team came faster than expected—and it wasn't Alice leading them like in the original story—Isaacs hadn't bothered to wake her up. In a fight like this, a woman suffering from rapid aging wasn't useful.

"I really didn't expect this… But listen, miss. I'm sure we can talk. I don't know how much your employer is paying you, but I can pay you more. How about half of Umbrella? With my research and your power, we could rule the world together!" Isaacs said calmly, feeling the heat from the blade pointed at him.

Josh, watching the live feed through the communicator, frowned. Was this guy seriously trying to outbid him?

"Wow, that's a tempting offer. But my boss wasn't happy hearing that. So he decided to send you a gift!" Jill smirked, changing her mind about mocking Isaacs and instead gave him a warning.

Isaacs suddenly felt something was wrong.

The next second, Jill ignored Alice, Matt, and Rain behind her and summoned two genetically modified velociraptors out of thin air.

Without hesitation, the creatures lunged at the terrified Isaacs.

Faced with these brutal, engineered beasts, Isaacs's personal battle support system was completely useless. In moments, he was torn apart.

Although Alice and Matt didn't feel any pity for Isaacs, the extremely bloody scene still made them frown slightly.

At the same time Isaacs was torn apart, a green test tube fell from his body. Jill quickly reached out and caught it.

"What is that?" Alice and Matt asked in unison.

"This is Umbrella's final, true super vaccine. If we release it into the air, it will neutralize the T-virus. Even if there's another outbreak in the future, it won't spread across the world again," Jill said, shaking the tube.

"Those two creatures… they just appeared out of nowhere…" Alice pointed to the two velociraptors.

"Didn't I say? It was a gift from my boss to Isaacs. It's called spatial teleportation. Impressive, right?" Jill replied with a smile, giving her prepared answer.

"Well then… now that Isaacs is dead, what's next?" Matt asked.

"Besides this base, where Umbrella's top people are hidden, there are more than ten research bases like the Hive around the world. I plan to destroy them all," Jill said.

"Sounds awesome. Count me in," Rain said immediately.

"If I can, I want to join too," Alice added.

"Me as well…" Matt nodded.

"You're all more than welcome." Jill looked at them and, after thinking for a moment, agreed.

"By the way, there's still one more…" Matt pointed to Alexia's cryo pod still standing in the hall.

"As for her… Alice, there's something you need to know. Pangu, bring out the Red Queen," Jill called into the air.

"At once, ma'am." As Pangu's calm voice replied, the Red Queen's image reappeared in the hall.

Soon after, Alexia was awakened.

What followed was a dramatic confrontation between the three women.

A few hours later, a vehicle quietly left Raccoon City. Moments later, a huge explosion rocked the city. The area where the Hive was located collapsed. Umbrella quickly sent people to seal off the area.

But soon, massive amounts of evidence exposing Umbrella's crimes—and footage from the Hive—began spreading across the internet.

At first, Umbrella tried to pressure governments to take the content down.

But that effort quickly failed.

Because infighting broke out within Umbrella branches across the world.

The reason? The leaked evidence revealed that Isaacs, Wesker, and others had multiple clones and were secretly running separate Umbrella bases without informing each other.

Things quickly spiraled out of control.

So my boss was just a clone? Then why should I listen to you anymore?

And the clones didn't believe they were clones either. They wanted to kill the other copies and any subordinates who didn't obey them.

Because of this, Umbrella's many bases quickly fell into complete chaos.

The most extreme cases were the Wesker clone in Tokyo and the Isaacs clone in Nevada—both went on a wild killing spree.

While Umbrella's operations spiraled out of control, governments around the world weren't foolish. They quickly began seizing Umbrella's assets under various excuses and turned them into state property.

Umbrella obviously didn't take this lying down. In response, they started releasing the T-virus.

But they soon realized the virus they once took pride in… no longer worked.

Only a few mutated versions developed in specific labs still had some effect, but they had lost the ability to spread through the air. Even transmission through bodily fluids had weakened and could be easily contained.

During this time, a mysterious team appeared, moving from place to place, destroying anything related to Umbrella.

Under pressure from all sides, Umbrella—a company that once controlled much of the global economy—completely collapsed.

However, the fall of Umbrella didn't mean the T-virus threat disappeared.

The countries and rival companies that had taken over Umbrella's assets also began studying the T-virus.

And because the virus had lost its airborne transmission, their research grew even bolder.

Seeing this, Jill—who once aimed to completely destroy Umbrella—began to feel regret. In the end, she used some of the valuable materials taken from Umbrella to trade with Josh for enhanced weapons and gear. She formed a new group called Blue Umbrella, dedicated to eliminating all T-virus bioweapon research once and for all.

But that's a story for another time.

As for Josh—the man behind Jill—after the situation in Raccoon City was handled, he continued his usual trades with Jill but stopped paying much attention to that world.

He had somewhere else to be—back in the U.S., attending his company's anniversary event.

Once back in America, Josh kept a very low profile. Except for a few people in the know, no one even realized he had returned.

After all, with the formation of the United Kingdom of Austria, the relationship between Austria and the U.S. had become... delicate.

To avoid unnecessary trouble, Josh decided to stay out of the spotlight. In fact, he planned to operate from behind the scenes going forward.

But for those on the inside, the politics between nations didn't matter.

Those "insiders" were none other than the Hydra Council.

"Josh, well done! This world will be ours!" In an exclusive club, Josh was greeted with big hugs from old friends like Hugh Jones, now the head vampire in the U.S., and other council members.

To them, Josh taking control of the newly formed and powerful United Kingdom of Austria was a huge win for Hydra.

After the greetings, the Hydra heads began discussing their latest plans and strategies.

To be specific: although Hydra had grown rapidly in recent years due to global instability, now that peace was spreading, that growth was slowing down.

So they needed... special methods to kick-start progress again.

In short, Hydra was about to stir things up.

"So you've picked Vietnam?" Josh instantly understood—they were talking about the long-running Vietnam War.

"Exactly. With our older military members retiring, we need fresh blood. But starting a world war isn't wise, so we need a long, drawn-out local conflict," Hugh Jones explained.

"Great idea!" Josh raised both hands in support. After all, his godson Ross made a name for himself during the Vietnam War, didn't he? This was a perfect chance to give him a push—maybe he could go even further than he did in the original timeline.

Raising someone to greatness was always fun.

Now that he thought about it, it had been two years since he last saw Ross—just a quick visit when he returned from space. The kid should be in high school by now, right?

And then there was Norman Osborn. He should be growing up too.

Back when they were still young, Josh had only supported their families a bit—now it was time to get more involved.

Even if they were only godsons, he couldn't just let them grow up to be bullied by so-called "superheroes," right?
