Chapter 379 - Chapter 375: Lucky for you—today’s your day.

When Jill entered the villa, the Umbrella team had already escorted Alice and Matt into the tunnel leading to the Hive, and the outer gate was also closed.

However, this wasn't a big problem for Jill now, as the combat suit that Josh had given her contained an automatic decryption device.

With the absolute computational advantage, within less than a minute, the outer defense system was breached.

By the time she reached the train platform, the Umbrella team had just finished repairing and activating the train.

Avoiding the alert soldiers, Jill silently climbed up to the top of the train from the rear, hidden from view.

Protected by her full-body combat suit, the speed of the underground freight train posed no threat to her.

When the train reached its destination, the Umbrella team, who were alert as they disembarked, didn't notice Jill crouched on the train's roof.

Meanwhile, Jill, from her vantage point on the train's roof, witnessed Spencer being discovered and pulled into the train car.

She waited until everyone had officially entered the Hive, and then she revealed herself from the top of the train.

"Now, that Red Queen you mentioned should be able to see me, right?" After standing up, Jill glanced at a nearby monitor and asked Josh from another world.

"Of course, but don't worry. Although she's killed quite a few people, she's a good girl!" Josh joked, causing Jill to look confused.

"Don't rush off. Go to where Spencer hid earlier. There's something good there!" Just as Jill was about to delve deeper into the Hive, Josh stopped her.

"What is this?" Following Josh's instructions, Jill quickly found the locked box and used the decryption device in her combat suit to open it.

"The blue one is the T-virus, the green one is the vaccine. Keep three doses of the vaccine as backup, the rest with the virus—consider that your equipment fee, no problem, right?" Josh laughed as he explained the cause of the bioterrorism outbreak to Jill.

"Ha... no problem!" Hearing that she was holding the potential source of world destruction in her hands, Jill couldn't help but take a deep breath. "But is there really no way to control this virus?"

"...What are you trying to say?" Josh raised an eyebrow.

"You can communicate with many other worlds, including something like Star Wars. I don't believe that with that level of technology, there's no way to develop a drug to completely counter the T-virus!" Jill looked at Josh as she spoke.

"...You're right," Josh replied, "with the technology I control, it's very likely that a drug capable of neutralizing or even destroying the T-virus could be developed... but the problem is, what are you willing to pay for it? Jill, you need to understand one thing. I'm a businessman, not a philanthropist!" Josh raised an eyebrow and said.

"I know, but I still ask that you save my world... and I am willing to pay any price!" Jill said, slightly agitated.

"...Are you really willing to give up everything for it?" A strange smile appeared on Josh's face.

"Yes!" Jill nodded firmly.

"Good. Your blue strapless top looks nice, don't forget to wear it for me sometime!" Josh said.

"...? That's it?" Jill was stunned when she heard Josh's words.

She, of course, knew which blue strapless top Josh was referring to.

It was just that Josh's earlier smile had made her think he would ask for something excessive.

But instead, he only wanted her to wear that blue strapless top?

But that was just her normal attire; it only revealed a bit of shoulder and accentuated her figure, and it couldn't even be considered revealing.

"Don't look at me like that, I'm a married man!" Josh teased with a smile when he saw Jill's surprised expression.

...Great, it turns out all the buildup before was just Josh messing with her. Realizing this, Jill couldn't help but roll her eyes.

At the same time, she felt a slight sense of disappointment.

Jill took the three vaccine doses and stuffed them into her tactical pocket, then handed the virus and the remaining vaccines to Josh.

After receiving the virus and vaccines, Josh didn't study them in his own world. Instead, after bidding Jill goodbye, he traded the virus and vaccines to Yuri and Vickers.

As for Jill, she continued her journey deeper into the Hive.

"I successfully created a batch of controllable Xenomorphs using a mind control device. Do you want to try them in that world?" Unlike Vickers, who merely followed orders, Yuri made a suggestion after hearing Josh explain the origin of the T-virus.

"...Are you sure the Xenomorphs won't be infected by the T-virus and turn into even more terrifying creatures?" Josh raised an eyebrow when he heard Yuri's proposal.

Zombie Xenomorphs? The combination of these two horrors was something Josh couldn't even imagine, and the potential destruction they could bring to a world like the one in Resident Evil was unfathomable.

"...You're overthinking it. The black liquid created by that Engineer civilization is far stronger than you can imagine. It has ultimate evolutionary capabilities and immunity. While the T-virus is strong, it won't infect the Xenomorphs—trying to do so is purely wishful thinking... But your concern isn't entirely unfounded. After all, we're dealing with creatures from different universes. Many things can't be judged using conventional science. How about I run an experiment first?" Yuri said, then immediately cut the communication and went to work on his research.

Josh, in turn, reconnected with Jill.

After a bit of delay, the Umbrella team in the Hive, after sacrificing four members, had successfully shut down the Red Queen.

This also meant the zombies were released.

The Umbrella team, who had just prepared to evacuate, was then besieged by countless zombies.

Matt and Alice got separated from the Umbrella team during this chaos after an explosion from a incubation chamber. Matt even lost the handcuff key he had painstakingly obtained and had to face a zombie's attack.

At this critical moment, a long knife fell and decapitated the zombie.

Then, with a flash of the blade, several zombies attempting to pounce on Matt also had their heads severed.

A head wearing a sci-fi-like helmet peered down, looking at Matt, who was crouched under a platform, and asked, "Are you okay?"

It was Jill, who had been observing from the shadows earlier.

"I'm fine, thank you!" Matt, hearing the female voice from under the helmet, was momentarily stunned and forgot to retrieve the handcuff key that had fallen into the drain.

"Come on out! You weren't bitten, right?" The figure extended a hand toward Matt.

"No, but sorry, I'd like to shake your hand, but I'm handcuffed, and the key fell into the drain!" Matt finally snapped out of it and tried to retrieve the key.

But the figure grabbed his collar and effortlessly pulled him out from under the platform. Then, her long knife glowed as she swung it lightly, and the handcuffs Matt had been worrying about for so long were instantly rendered into scrap metal.

"Whoa... Thanks! But what was that? A lightsaber? And who are you?" Matt asked as he relaxed his wrist, watching the light from Jill's heat blade fade, then marveled at her gear.

"Jill Valentine, RCPD (A/N:Raccoon City Police Department)!" Jill replied.

"...That joke's not funny. Though I'm a fake cop, I know that no one in Raccoon City—or even in all of America—would have gear like yours!" Matt replied, skeptical.

At that moment, there was a loud crash as a large hole was suddenly punched through the incubation chamber behind Matt, startling him.

Seeing this, Jill wasn't hesitating. Her heat blade powered up again, and she stabbed it into the incubation chamber. The creature inside instantly went silent.

"What was that thing?" Matt still seemed confused.

"Lickers—bio-weapons created by the Umbrella Corporation. Trust me, you don't want to see what they really look like!" Jill shared the intel she'd gotten from Josh. "As for me? I was a cop until today. But now? My goal is to wipe out Umbrella for good!"

"Matt... who are you?" Just then, Alice arrived.

"Well now, pleased to meet you, Alice!" Jill's covered head tilted with interest as she studied the "key figure" Josh had mentioned.

"Do we know each other?" Alice frowned.

"I know you. You don't know me. But that's irrelevant. You're not planning to stand around chatting, are you?" With a casual swipe, she bisected a lunging zombie. "Move out. Let's find the others."

"I get that Lickers are Umbrella's bio-weapons," Matt pressed, keeping pace, "but what about these things?" Alice listened intently.

"Umbrella's real weapon is a virus—the Tyrant Virus, or T-Virus. There was a leak here. Everyone got infected. The Red Queen sealed the facility and killed all personnel to contain it..." Jill shrugged, pulling two pistols and spare mags from her belt—looted from dead security zombies. "...And you let them out." She tossed the weapons to Matt and Alice.

"Thanks... So everyone here really is dead?" Matt asked grimly, checking his new gun.

"Looking for Lisa, huh?" Jill guessed.

"...You know where she is?" Matt's voice tightened at his sister's name.

"Yes. Unfortunately, she turned into one of these creatures. I gave her peace."

"Goddamn Umbrella!" Matt spat.

"How do you know all this?" Alice cut in, suspicious.

"Frankly? You know more than I do." Jill didn't turn.

They caught up to the remaining Umbrella squad—surrounded by zombies—as one member frantically hacked the evacuation gate.

BLAM! Jill's blaster slagged the electronic lock, making JD jump.

Rain Ocampo and Kaplan instantly aimed their guns at her. Ignoring them, Jill fired rapidly, landing a headshot with every shot, each shot blowing off the heads of the zombies that the Umbrella team had failed to eliminate, clearing a large area in an instant.

"Destroy the brain. It's the only way." Jill holstered her smoking blaster.

"Who the hell are you?!" Rain snarled.

"You just sealed us in!" JD shouted at the ruined gate.

"You really wanted that open?" Jill pointed at the smoldering hole. Behind it—snarls. Hundreds. The squad froze.

"You're bitten?" Jill eyed Rain's bleeding hand.

"Yeah. Do you have a problem?"

"Big one. That virus turns people into those. You've got two hours."

Rain paled.

"Lucky for you—today's your day." Jill jabbed a vaccine into Rain's arm before she could react.

"What—?!"

"Antidote."

As others stared, Spencer—recognizing the vaccine—suddenly remembered. He edged backward.

BLAM! Jill's blaster blew his head off without looking.

"What did you DO?!" Alice aimed at Jill, the only one unhinged enough to try.

"He orchestrated this nightmare, was that reason good enough?" And you helped, Jill didn't add, still not glancing at Alice. "Save your questions. The main control room has answers." She strode off.
