Chapter 8 - Status Screen.

The dining room was nothing special, other than Two reindeer skull hanged by his father to show his son his bravery.

Taking a opportunist moment he put all the salt he exchange in the pot of porridge.

"Today's recipe isn't quite look like what i ate previous day?" Raven asked, as today's dish looked quite well-made and delicious.

"Thorpe uncle, gifted us Felix root, he founded it in the Bloodwitch." Rhaela replied.

"Oh! Why did he go there?" he asked out of curiosity.

"Maybe! Get some fresh air's." She replied.

"Right! So, isn't Felix root poisonous." Raven asked.

In his previous life, if players were starving and had no money, the only thing they could do to stave off hunger was eat Felix root.

Although eating the Felix root would decrease their health bar by 10 points, it would prevent them from losing a level due to death by starvation.

Aside from this, Felix root was often used for its medicinal properties.

That's why he asked her about it.

'I have a technique,' she replied nonchalantly.

"Okay! Right" Raven replied.. 'Maybe my salt couldn't save me from tasting tasteless' he thought.

As he took porridge in his bowl, he took sip from it, and than he start to devour it like madman. He never eat such delicious meal in all of his life.

But this made someone confused, "Why my dish taste different, but it somehow became more delicious."

....

After the dinner, Rhaela turn off the yarn that burning on his room, as the room turned pitch black he sighed in relieve, thankfully Rhaela didn't asked why the food taste different.

'Whatever' Raven thought, as he opened his Status screen, a big screen In front of his eyes opened, this thing, only visible to him no other could see it other than him.

Waking up in the morning, Raven looked up at the dark, overcast sky.

"Rainy" He mumbled, while taking the cart full of grass to his house stable, where instead of five only one horse stood. Which also is taken from someone else.

He sighed inwardly and gently patted Shadownair's neck, giving it its breakfast before freshening up. Sadly, there was no breakfast for him; the concept simply didn't exist here.

After freshening up, he mounted Shadownair, noticing Rhaela watching him leave. He asked, "Would you like to go with me?"

"Maybe, if you wish, my lord," Rhaela replied.

'Why couldn't I have been reborn into a noble household? At least then I wouldn't have people sticking around for their revenge,' he thought bitterly.

But he knew very well that she wouldn't betray him outright—at least not as long as she held the position of his secretary, a role he had given her specifically to keep an eye on her. People who are crafty are often the most unpredictable.

'Maybe she could even be of use to me,' Raven mused.

Placing Rhaela in front of him on Shadownair, they began their slow journey toward the barracks.
