Elora leaned back in her seat in a laid-back way as the maids were called in to clear the plates. She took a sip of her drink, dazedly gazing at the view from the window on the other side of the room.
Since she hadn't left, the others stayed seated, assuming she had something important to tell them. Once they were alone again, Elora looked away from the window and briefly glanced at each of them.
"I'll be away from the castle for a month. If you run into any difficulties, speak with the butler. Should any member of the royal family cause trouble, you may handle it in my name."
She paused, letting the weight of her words sink in, then asked casually, "Do any of you want me to bring back something for them?"
They were silent for a moment before Thorn broke the silence. "Your majesty, when are you leaving? Can I come with you…?'' His last question was only audible to the two of them, his eyes gazing at her with hope and subtle charm.
