Elora ignored the cautious glares of the armed children and strode to the centre of the room. The children tried to attack the intruder, but an invisible force held them down—unable to move, they could only watch as the strange woman stopped and stroked the body of a silver bracelet on her wrist.
To their shock, the bracelet moved, hissing as it uncoiled from her wrist. Elora pricked the snake, letting its blood drip onto the huge rune stone, and as soon as the blood covered the circle drawn on it, a burst of red light erupted.
Elora didn't pause for a moment and directed her magic into the rune stone, the light slowly forming the shape of the magic circle drawn on the runestone— the circle expanded, its glow alerting the guards concealed within the church.
"Intruder! Kill!'' the leader of the guards ordered coldly as they rushed to the source of the commotion.
But before they could move further, the magic circle passed through them as it enveloped the whole building.
