Chapter 365 - 029 Nine Times Out of Ten, It Ends in Vain

Ronnel was right—if you wanted card props here, you could just go to Emuksu and be done with it.

Besides, this game was made specifically by Ging for Gon. I had once threatened Ging to get my hands on the console, essentially stealing his son's chance to clear the game. That was careless of me.

If I run into Ging again, he'll definitely mock me for it.

Ronnel, though, isn't the type to snatch things from people, let alone children—especially when they're things that don't really matter to him.

Soon, as Gon placed the final card into his book, a female voice echoed through everyone's card book simultaneously.

That was Elena, the voice behind Eta in the final stage.

Then came the final question-and-answer segment regarding the NO.000 card.

This was a test designed for players who had truly engaged with the game—one last Easter egg left behind by Ging at the final stage of the card collection.

In the end, there was no doubt—Gon won the last card with a staggering score of 85 points.

And, surprisingly, no one attempted to interfere.

Well, it seemed that those who didn't understand simply remained in the dark. At least there weren't any troublemakers around this time.

Ronnel, Gon's group, Tsezguerra's group, Goreinu—none of them were easy to mess with.

Afterward, Gon took the invitation letter and headed to Castle to meet Dwun and List, two of the Game Masters.

Meanwhile, Ronnel spent the remaining time with Shizuku.

Then, when the island-wide server announced the final clearance—

"Time to head back."

...

In the city of Dorias, within a familiar restaurant—

After stuffing the last plate of croquettes into his mouth, Milluki patted his stomach and sighed.

"I can't believe I lost to Killua this time. Ugh, so frustrating..."

On the other side—

"Gon Freecss? That spiky-haired kid?"

Hearing the familiar name, Feitan's group, who had been preparing to leave, momentarily paused.

"That brat's something else," Phinks remarked, rubbing his chin. Then, with a smirk, he added, "Maybe his old man handed him some inside information."

"Doesn't concern us," Franklin rumbled.

With that, he was the first to walk away.

Shalnark smiled as he followed suit, alongside Machi, Kortopi, and Kalluto, who had been silently observing.

"So dull," Phinks muttered, shrugging before vanishing into the shadows along with Feitan.

And with that, the events surrounding Greed Island reached their conclusion.

After Tsezguerra and Goreinu returned to Battera's mansion, they received bad news—Battera was gone.

Since Gon was the one who ultimately cleared the game, their commission was left unfulfilled. In the end, all their efforts had been for nothing.

...

While Tsezguerra and the others were left speechless, in the bustling city of Yorknew—

"Back again."

Ronnel glanced at the rising sun with a faint smile before stepping out of the airport and into the city.

The rundown building was still the same.

As Ronnel walked inside, familiar faces greeted him.

"Where's the Exorcist now?"

Without any pleasantries, Ronnel sat on a nearby stone block and got straight to the point.

"We've arranged a meeting with the Exorcist at Hisoka's private room in Heavens Arena," Shalnark explained. "The leader will be there to oversee the process."

"Due to the conditions of the leader's contract and restrictions, we won't meet him directly. Instead, we'll monitor everything remotely. Hisoka will assist with the removal process, so there shouldn't be any issues."

"Heavens Arena?" Ronnel rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "If I'm already there, can I fight Hisoka on the spot?"

Shalnark and Kortopi instinctively tensed at the thought.

Ronnel smirked inwardly but remained silent. "If you need my help while I'm there, just say the word."

"I almost forgot—you're still the reigning champion of Battle Olympia," Machi remarked, resting her chin on her hand.

"Speaking of which, this year's Battle Olympia is about to begin..."

Her gaze shifted to Ronnel, a glint of interest in her eyes.

"Are you planning to compete this time?"

"I promised the organizers, so yeah, I'll be there."

"I see." Machi nodded slightly before pulling out her phone and tapping away at something on a website. After a few moments, she put it away and returned to her usual cool demeanor.

"I've entrusted a good chunk of my assets to you. You'd better not mess this up."

"Personally, I'm not worried at all," Ronnel replied with a faint smirk.

But whether the organizers have a problem… well, that's another story.

This time, Jed—the former leader of the "Shadow" organization, once defeated by Netero—was about to make his return, having sold his soul to the devil to regain his youth. Survivors of the On users were gathering, ready to strike back at the Hunter Association and Netero himself.

Heavens Arena was about to become their battleground.

Whether Battle Olympia would proceed as planned was still uncertain.

As for Machi's investment… well, nine times out of ten, it was doomed to fail.

"Alright, since everyone's here, let's go."

Shalnark clapped his hands, confirming their next course of action.

So, Ronnel—who had barely settled in—found himself boarding an airship back to Heavens Arena once again.
