Chapter 30 - Why Are There So Many

A black vortex materialized before Lin Moyu, and in an instant, two skeleton warriors emerged, flanking him on both sides and effortlessly blocking the oncoming arrows with a metallic clatter. The arrows bounced harmlessly off their bony frames, and without hesitation, the skeletons charged straight toward the two archers.

Zhao Ji's face darkened. "More than one summoned creature?"

He hadn't expected Lin Moyu to have more than one summon, but he tried to shake it off. After all, some summoners in his guild could command multiple creatures. One member had even managed four. Still, this sudden display rattled him.

"Block them!" Zhao Ji commanded. Immediately, a knight stepped forward to intercept the advancing skeletons.

Zhao Ji, feeling somewhat more secure behind his knight's shield, raised his staff high, his lips moving in rapid incantation. His target was clear: the summoner himself.

"Dancing Fire Snake!"

With a flourish, a serpentine flame erupted from Zhao Ji's staff and shot towards Lin Moyu. The crowd gasped in fear.

"That's a level 20 mage skill!"

"It's known as the strongest spell before the second class advancement. Lin Moyu is done for!"

"Damn, only a third of mages can master that skill!"

Concerned murmurs rippled through the crowd, but Lin Moyu remained eerily calm. Another vortex swirled before him, and this time, twenty skeleton warriors emerged from the darkness, their eyes flickering with ghostly blue flames.

The fiery snake lashed out, slamming into the group of skeletal soldiers and exploding in a bright flash. Yet, when the flames died down, the skeleton warriors still stood, their bones scorched but unfazed. They charged, an unstoppable wave of death, towards the Dynasty Guild.

Zhao Ji's face twisted with disbelief. "Twenty...?"

Just moments ago, three skeleton warriors had seemed overwhelming, but now Lin Moyu had summoned an entire army. Their numbers dwarfed Zhao Ji's team.

"Form up! Defensive positions!" Zhao Ji barked, his experience taking over despite his rising panic.

The Dynasty Guild members responded like seasoned fighters. Knights formed a defensive front, while the archers and mages prepared to unleash attacks from the rear. Healers moved quickly, casting buffs on their comrades—strength, agility, shields, every boost they could muster. In just half a minute, the team was fully fortified.

For a moment, Zhao Ji's confidence returned. "It's just a matter of time. We'll wear them down."

But Lin Moyu simply watched, cold and calculating. Without a word, he turned to Wang Yi and the others behind him. "Get back."

No one dared to defy him now. They retreated swiftly, putting dozens of meters between themselves and the battle.

Zhao Ji noticed, his brow furrowing in confusion. What was Lin Moyu planning?

Suddenly, an archer let out a scream. Lin Moyu had struck again with his soul flame, nearly killing the archer in an instant. Quick healing spells brought the archer back from the brink of death, but Zhao Ji broke into a cold sweat. Lin Moyu wasn't just a summoner—he was a necromancer. His magic directly targeted the soul.

"Nurses, be on high alert!" Zhao Ji yelled, panic creeping into his voice. "Heal fast, their magic can attack directly!"

Tension spiked as Lin Moyu's skeletons closed in. He focused on one knight at the front, and under his command, the skeletons relentlessly assaulted the unfortunate warrior. The knight endured blow after blow, shield raised high, but it was like standing in front of a hurricane. He could feel his life slipping away, despite the healers' best efforts.

Then, Lin Moyu's voice rang out, cold and decisive: "Use skills."

The skeleton warriors obeyed immediately. With a flare of ghostly energy, they unleashed their powerful strikes. At the same time, Lin Moyu cast another soul flame. The knight's scream pierced the air, and in the blink of an eye, he was dead.

The Dynasty Guild's formation cracked. Zhao Ji's face turned white. "Run!" he screamed, desperation clawing at his throat.

But it was too late.

One of the skeletons grabbed the knight's corpse and hurled it high into the air. Before anyone could react, the body exploded with a deafening bang. The explosion, centered on the knight, sent a shockwave of lethal force through the entire Dynasty Guild formation, dealing massive damage based on the knight's own health.

Zhao Ji barely had time to comprehend what was happening before the world around him erupted into chaos. The explosion vaporized his comrades, scattering their remains across the battlefield.

When the dust settled, the only sound was the faint rustle of the night wind. The once-proud Dynasty Guild lay in ruins, their corpses littering the ground like broken toys.

Lin Moyu didn't even spare a glance at the devastation. He simply gathered the loot from their remains, his expression as emotionless as ever.
