Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Before 6 years ago ~

"Father, what is this symbol for?"

Kaven asked the pastor about a symbol he found in the church.

The father answered him with a short story.

"Once upon a time, in an ancient temple, dragons and human souls lived in peace until the day came when everything and everyone vanished.

There was a little warrior doing his best in practicing to be the one who beat the evil and become the hero of his time.

But, all of the things he did led to the disaster.

Legends say the temple drowned beneath the waters."

Kaven was thrilled by the story and asked about its location.

The pastor told him that legends say it is placed beneath Orpheus Lake, which could only be reached by crossing the Arden Valley of Wolves.

--------------------------------------------------------------

For the time being,

Jack was astonished by the tale. No one would have believed such things could happen.

Lots of coincidences, one after one, what's next ?

Jack sighed heavily, expressing his tiredness towards the trip and asking how long it would take to reach the lake.

Kaven replied, "Apparently, it takes at least a week."

They decided to rest for two days in the village they stopped by before.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Away from here, Lucas, who excelled in acting his love for the princess, still tried to uncover Margarita's plans.

He decided to track her and unreveal the truth behind her.

A messenger brought news to Margarita that Kaven had begun tracking the map.

She decided to follow him instead of catch him and put him in prison.

Other news saying that the person who poisoned her is after Kaven.

Definitely, she will not let him win the game. She decided to go after him, too, without realising the doubts around her.

--------------------------------------------------------------

After two days of resting, the people of the village gave their goodbye to Kaven and Jack, and they presented horses for them to continue their journey with ease.

Hours after hours and days after days, they pressed on, still far from their destination.

At about a week later, they reached the Arden Valley.

The moon shines along the way into the valley, clouds of fog lining all the way in front of them.

They felt a lighting streak of fear over their bodies.

Jack felt that's something wrong would happen to them, but he couldn't pinpoint it yet.

Kaven was trying to be brave enough to go over through this step, but he was also afraid of what would come.

They started walking heavily into the deep of the valley, with every step they took they felt the bad energy increasing around them.

Something dangerous will happen at any moment. Will they succeed in passing this challenge?

As they kept their movements slow and steady, Jack heard cracking sound from nowhere and stopped.

Kaven also stopped as he felt something move around them.

Suddenly, a pack of wolves appeared in front of their way, howling fiercely on them, they was so scared.

They tried to go back, but another pack of wolves surrounded them from all sides.

They caught their breath, clung tightly to their horses, and dashed through the howling wolves as fast as they could.

The person behind them was so skilled and professional in this situation that he killed all the wolves before they went after Kaven and Jack.

Kaven was surprised when the wolves sound stopped suddenly and wondered why the wolves didn't run after them.

Kaven urged Jack to return and investigate the wolves situation.

Jack didn't like the idea of going back, but he was also curious about the sudden disappearance.

When they returned back to the area where the wolves appeared, they didn't see anything but a man with his sword in one hand and a wolf's head in the other hand.

They didn't believe the bloody picture in front of their eyes.

Kaven got off the horse and walked toward the man with open eyes in astonishing way.

The man said as he threw the head

away, "Sorry about the mess, boys. You must be terrified."
