Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: The Path Forward

The First Month – Meditation & Control

Autumn leaves swirled across Tianlan Magic High's courtyard, their golden hues a stark contrast to the lingering warmth from Yu Tian's enhanced Fire element. Two months had passed since the awakening ceremony—two months of disciplined training beneath the ancient oak tree where the sunlight filtered through in dappled patterns.

While most students still struggled to visualize their star clusters, Yu Tian had mastered Meditation within days. His Eidetic Recall made the process effortless, and his 2x amplified Fire element burned brighter than most, its seven stars pulsing like embers in his inner universe.

Yet Control proved challenging.

Fire Stars – Glowed steadily but resisted alignment, their amplified energy making them stubborn.

Lightning Stars – Crackled with wild energy, their violet arcs flickering unpredictably.

Space Stars – The most elusive, warping in and out of perception like reflections in disturbed water.

He didn't need the System to conceal them—he simply chose not to reveal them.

"No need to show all my cards yet."

2. The First Spell – "Ignite"

By the third month, Yu Tian finally locked all seven Fire stars into a stable Star Path. The moment the connection solidified—

"Ignite."

A crimson sigil flared before him, and a whip of fire lashed out, reducing a training dummy to charred splinters. The heat was twice as intense as a normal Fire spell, leaving faint embers lingering in the air.

[ Fire Spell Output: 200% Efficiency ]

[ Mana Cost: Reduced by 20% ]

A few classmates nearby paused, murmuring.

"That's… stronger than usual, right?"

"Guess he's just talented."

Yu Tian ignored them. He had no interest in their approval—only in pushing further.

3. Lightning's Rebellion

At night, when the school grounds were empty, Yu Tian tested his Lightning element in secret.

The first time he connected three stars, a single bolt erupted from his fingertips, scorching a blackened line into the earth. The backlash left his arm numb, his muscles twitching with residual energy.

"Too unstable."

The System's analysis flickered in his vision:

[ Lightning Control: 3/7 Stars Stabilized ]

[ Risk of Overload: High ]

[ Suggestion: Prioritize Fire Mastery Before Further Lightning Training ]

He clenched his fist, extinguishing the lingering sparks.

"Fine. But I'm not stopping."

4. The Space Enigma

Space was the hardest.

Unlike Fire's warmth or Lightning's aggression, Space was silent. Its stars didn't just move—they vanished, slipping through his mental grasp like smoke.

The one time he managed to stabilize a single star, the air around him warped subtly. A pebble hovering near his foot floated for half a second before dropping.

[ Space Control: 1/7 Stars Stabilized ]

[ Effect: Minor Spatial Distortion Detected ]

[ Caution: Unpredictable Side Effects Possible ]

Yu Tian exhaled sharply.

"This… will take time."

Moving Forward

With Fire under control and Lightning still volatile, Yu Tian's next goal was clear:

Master Fire Spells – Push his 2x amplification to its limits before branching out.

Train Lightning in Secret – Refine control to avoid accidental surges.

Decipher Space – Unlock its potential without drawing attention.

The world thought he was just a Fire mage with slightly stronger flames.

Let them keep thinking that.
