Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Play

Six months passed, and Jilly was nowhere near New York. Cayne had been struggling to keep up with his business. If it was not for his brother who stepped up, his business might have crumbled down. For a while, his brother had taken over everything.

Lincoln had no experience running a nightclub. His business was just like Kook, it was safe to say that Lincoln was Kook's student. But he had to step up, so he could save Cayne's business and also himself.

Cayne purposely ruined a delivery just to get attention from Jilly. If Kook got tired of Cayne's behavior, he would call her down. If getting himself in danger means he got to see her, he would do just that. He would put himself in trouble to face her.

"Stop playing around, Isa! You've met the wrath of the Bakerhubb. Are you going to go through that again? Because I don't." Lincoln stopped him from getting the stuff ready to be delivered.

"I don't care as long as I get to see her!" Cayne yelled, he was frustrated. He was going to lose his mind soon if nobody stopped him from doing irrelevant things.

"She's not coming back," Lincoln replied in the same tone. That fact, he was unsure of. He just needed to stop his brother to go crazy and said it once and for all.

"Shut up, you know nothing!" Zipping his bag, Cayne walked out of his office to deliver the package. It was his tenth attempt and he knew, he had crossed it way too many times. He had faith that Jilly would show up today. He knew she would never let anyone cross her more than the ten begin.

He drove to the old and abandoned warehouse and made one stop before that. He had to see her no matter what.

When he arrived, nobody was there. He walked further into the open old warehouse. He waited patiently for her. Walking here and there to pass the time until she showed up, he ended up going to the wilder. There were a lot of reed plants that were around his height.

Just then, he felt the cock of a gun behind his head. He knew it, she came.

"Where's my package?" She opened her mouth to ask. She was tired of getting a complaint from the buyers saying that they couldn't trust the business anymore. Kook had warned her about what was happening in New York.

"It's safely delivered," Cayne replied.

"Where. Is. It?" Jilly asked through gritted teeth.

"I delivered them before coming here. I did." Cayne said in a way for her to believe him. But, what was trust when she didn't even believe in it?

"Did you wish to revisit the past, Isaiah?" Those words made him shiver. He wouldn't, could never forget what happened the first time Lincoln was just starting the business to be like Kook. It was a bloody mess and they were only in their first year of dating.

Flashback to the past...

"Who took our delivery? Was it Cayne?" Jilly asked Kook's employees who got stranded and robbed in the middle of an empty town. It was such a perfect place to do just that, robbing.

"It was his people." One of them answered confidently.

Jilly felt extremely furious. She knew not to trust one of his people to know any information about Kook's shipment. Kook knew, Lincoln was starting to be a dealer and he asked Kook to provide him with some, so he could offer them to his connection. But, Kook refused. She guessed that was how this situation happened.

"Did you see him with them?" Jilly asked again. If they were sure that it was his people, then he surely would be the one to take responsibility for this.

"No. But I've seen them a few times." Jilly nodded, taking in their information.

"Just go back to the base and tell Kook what you know, I'll talk to him later," Jilly commanded them. There was no use in continuing the journey, they had nothing to be delivered.

'You know you see this coming. So, baby, I'm coming for you.' Jilly said in her heart as she felt bitter towards him already.

"Can you connect me with Katherine?" Jilly asked Tera, the IT girl who she brought along.

"I'll call her." She replied and immediately connect her through the phone. It was not long until the call was connected and Tera handed the phone to Jilly. "Jilly wants to talk to you."

"Hello." Katherine's voice came out of the speaker.

"You do know what happened, don't you?" Jilly's cold voice silenced her. Breathing was even harder. "Invite him and his brother to your house. They should be there when I come back, Katherine."

"Aren't you going to use the silence room in the basement?" Katherine asked in frightened. She didn't know this moment would come and face her right where she stand.

"Wouldn't want to see him getting hurt?" Jilly noticed his changed behavior. It might not be a big difference, but Jilly noticed. Throughout the year they had been together, just recently she felt something was off about him.

"Just get them there before I get home," Jilly ordered her one last time after a long pause.

"Okay." Jilly ended the call right away and gave the phone back to its owner.

The truck had driven away. So, Jilly and Tera left the site to get back to the city. Jilly asked Tera to drive her to the restaurant. She was going to see Kook and explained to him about her plan.

"I'll get back to the base," Tera said as Jilly hopped out of the car. She nodded to her and continued to walk into the restaurant of his, Sky Dive.

She made her way directly to his office in the very back of the restaurant. She barged in with fury and Kook got startled by her entrance. He looked at her in expecting.

"Get ready." That's all she said and he understood right away. She took the call and Kook was there to help her even though she didn't need his help. But, this was regarding his business, so he needed to be present.
