Chapter 767 - Chapter 767: Tohka's Descend!

"Those who lose must pay the price."

Rei Ao's hands began to rip at Jibril's battle armor, every movement brimming with raw strength and overbearing intent.

Amid the desolate wasteland, Jibril stared at the man before her in stunned disbelief, while Shuvi stood quietly to one side, dutifully recording everything.

The frequency of the glow in Shuvi's eyes accelerated, converting this fierce struggle into streams of complex data that were immediately stored in her core.

"Reproductive interaction identical to Couronne… Recording."

Jibril felt her dignity being torn apart piece by piece, yet deep within her stirred a nameless, unsettling thrill.

This sudden encounter had not only upended her view of the human race, it also sent unprecedented ripples through her proud heart.

With Rei Ao's relentless motions, pieces of armor shattered away, exposing flawless white skin.

A howling wind swept past, lifting her long hair and sending it flying wildly in the air.

She had never imagined herself reduced to such a state.

As a proud Flugel, she had always looked down on every other race—yet now a mere human treated her like this?

Humiliation burned within her, but the overwhelming aura radiating from Rei Ao left her unable to resist.

"Y‑you… vile human!"

She ground her teeth, but as the loser she could only let Rei Ao handle her suspended in mid‑air.

Shuvi remained motionless at the side, mechanical eyes faithfully logging every detail.

To her, the interaction between Rei Ao and Jibril was a contradictory data set—violent confrontation intertwined with intimate contact, overwhelming power juxtaposed with fragile emotion—data that battered her core and expanded her understanding of humanity.

On that barren desert plain, time itself seemed to stop.

Silhouetted against the dying sunlight, Rei Ao and Jibril tangled together, forming a strange yet tension‑filled tableau.

Jibril's resistance gradually weakened; her mind grew hazy, awash in anger, shame, and that inexplicable excitement.

With sheer dominance, Rei Ao completely overturned her perception of humankind.

Spirit World

Elsewhere, Tohka Yatogami still slumbered in the void, her waking thoughts focused on the chat‑group's messages. Today had promised to be as uneventful as usual—

"Hm? Who's there?"

Her attention snapped back as ripples spread across the emptiness in front of her like disturbances on water.

A blurred figure surfaced in the void and vanished again in an instant. Before Tohka could see the person's face, an irresistible force coiled around her body.

"W‑wait—!"

Her protest was swallowed by a spatial rift. The world twisted and shattered before her eyes, then re‑formed in an entirely new shape.

Vertigo washed over her. When her vision finally steadied, she found herself staring up at a vast blue sky blazing with sunlight.

"That's… the sun?"

Instinctively she raised a hand to shield her eyes, yet she could not help peeking through her fingers at a sight unknown in the spirit realm.

Warm light bathed her skin; a gentle breeze brushed her cheeks, carrying the scent of grass and blossoms.

She was standing on an open meadow, with dense clusters of human buildings in the distance.

Drawing a long breath, she murmured in amazement:

"This is the real world?!"

She—who had been in the spirit realm only moments ago—was now in the mortal world, alive with vigor unlike any realm she had known.

"Is this the world Rei Ao spoke of?"

She glanced at her ornate Astral Dress—a skirted cuirass of purple and silver that shimmered in the sun.

The tranquility did not last.

"Pyuu! Pyuu! Pyuu!"

Shrill alarms split the sky.

Alert, Tohka looked up. Dark specks hurtled toward her from the city. As they drew nearer she recognized armored human females in specialized mechanical suits, weapons at the ready. Leading them was a silver‑haired girl whose icy gaze could freeze steel.

"Spirit identification code 'Princess' confirmed—target acquired."

Origami Tobiichi's calm report crackled over her communicator, AST‑issue CR‑Unit armor gleaming coldly in the sunlight.

"All units: the target did not cause a spacequake, but that does not mean it poses no threat. Proceed with standard expulsion protocol."

"Enemies…"

Frowning, Tohka summoned Sandalphon.

The immense violet greatsword, symbol of her power, glimmered faintly along its blade.

"Who are you? Why attack me?"

Her voice rang across the empty field. Origami offered no answer—she simply raised her laser cannon and gave the order:

"Open fire."

Dozens of beams and live shells screamed toward Tohka, rending the air with shrill howls.

She swept Sandalphon in a perfect arc; every attack that touched the violet light was deflected or annihilated. Fiery explosions blossomed around her, but none could reach her.

"Why must this happen…"

Biting her lip, she remembered Rei Ao's warning in the chat:

"AST will try to kill Spirits."

The Anti‑Spirit Team had been created to destroy Spirits—its members often victims of the spacequakes Spirits inadvertently triggered, seething with hatred for them. That explained the murderous glare in their eyes.

Yet Tohka had caused no spacequake; she had harmed no one.

Even so, they had attacked without a word.

A faint pain pricked her heart…
