Via Shinoa's livestream, everyone in the group witnessed Rei Ao descending as though a god—
Marcille: "Ugh! Rei Ao…he's so dazzling!"
Tohru: "What's with the fuss? Isn't that a piece of cake for Rei Ao?"
Marcille: "Eh? But that monster looked scarier than a giant dragon!"
Tohru: "Are you insulting dragons? This is the second time already!"
Marcille: "Uh…"
Yomogawa Ayame: "Marcille, please calm down. Rei Ao has saved multiple worlds already."
Mabel: "And he's destroyed worlds too, hmph!"
Marcille: "…"
She stares in a daze at Falin, who shared a room with her last night.
Marcille: "Falin, am I seeing things?"
Falin, also watching the livestream with her, fixes her wide-open eyes on Rei Ao:
No, everyone in the chat is saying that Rei Ao is incredibly strong.
Erica: "That girl who turned back from a monster—what was she?"
Akame: "I recall that was something called the "Seraph of the End." Esdeath once defeated one."
Couronne: "He… Is he a god?"
Couronne's mouth is gaping in shock.
It's the first time she's seen someone so divine. The key point: she sees no features of any other race on Rei Ao.
She can't tell whether he's human or some godlike species.
Yet if all of this is truly real…
She clenches her fists.
Could the human race she belongs to possibly find a new future?
She wants to see it for herself, watching the livestream with bated breath.
Within the livestream, Rei Ao has walked up to Hiiragi Shinoa.
Gently, he places Kimizuki Mirai into her arms.
"Take care of her. I've some other matters to handle."
He says softly.
Then he stands once again, resuming that godlike gravitas.
His gaze sweeps over every being prostrate on the battlefield, both humans and vampires alike.
"Rejoice. Your hour of death has not come."
His voice is neither loud nor forceful, yet it resonates in every soul on the field.
When he finishes speaking, Rei Ao vanishes in a blur, reappearing before Krul Tepes in the distance.
Still kneeling, Krul senses a pair of feet appear in front of her, and her heart shrinks in fear.
Hiiragi Kureto's face is likewise ashen in the command room.
He'd never imagined a force this terrifying could exist.
And worse, it seems to be on Shinoa's side.
Rei Ao, as though sensing something, glances toward the command room, piercing through the walls to stare at Kureto.
A single look casts Kureto into an icy abyss.
He then withdraws his gaze, focusing on Krul again.
"Rise, Krul Tepes."
Being addressed, the vampire queen's body stiffens briefly.
As the Third Progenitor, she's far stronger than ordinary vampires, yet she can't resist Rei Ao's oppressive aura in the slightest.
Pink hair drapes down around her cheeks.
Krul grits her teeth, her slender fingers digging into the soil.
She's forced to obey.
"I said, stand."
Rei Ao's voice holds a hint of impatience.
All at once, the crushing weight on her body recedes.
Krul trembles, slowly bracing herself upward, finally able to meet the mysterious figure's eyes.
When she looks upon Rei Ao's face, her scarlet pupils contract sharply—she can sense no breath or presence from him.
No human heartbeat, no vampire bloodline aura, not even a Seraph-like energy.
He appears as though an empty void, yet that terrifying power pressing upon her is undeniably real.
"You…who are you?"
Krul's voice shakes more than she'd like.
Is he the Seraph of the End, or some weapon created by humans through forbidden experiments?
Rei Ao quirks an eyebrow in mild displeasure at the word "weapon."
"Weapon? What an annoying label," he says, casually studying the pink-haired, youthful-appearing vampire queen before him.
She is indeed as striking as in the original story: pale skin, finely wrought features, and those crimson eyes lit by unyielding flames.
Even in the face of absolute power, they still flash a dangerous edge.
Pity it's of no use.
Rei Ao chuckles softly.
"I came at someone's wish, to bring peace to this world."
"Peace?"
Krul nearly snorts.
But reason stops her.
This being can crush her as easily as one might an ant.
She's not prepared for suicide.
Even so, that doesn't stop her haughty retort:
"Appearing on the battlefield like that, forcing everyone to kneel—that's your so-called peace?"
Rei Ao doesn't answer immediately.
Instead, he lifts a hand, lightly tilting Krul's chin upward.
Normally, such a gesture would enrage the vampire queen and cause her to fight back instantly.
But Krul is horrified to find that her body refuses to move, not because of external force but because every cell in her body instinctively refuses to defy this being's will!
"What do you think about humans, little vampire?" he suddenly asks.
Krul's pupils expand slightly.
A deeper hatred gleams in her eyes:
"Despicable, shameless vermin—only good at scheming and struggling."
She bites off each word, her eyes showing faint traces of pain.
"My elder brother…was persecuted by humans."
"Ashera Tepes," Rei Ao nods.
"Originally an ancient Greek noble—then enslaved when their country was destroyed, dissected alive by human scientists, correct?"
Krul's face turns pale.
"H-How do you know that name?!"
Rei Ao doesn't answer.
Instead, he continues:
"Then…what about vampires? What do you think of them?"
"You…"
Krul wants to ask about her brother, but Rei Ao's calm voice interrupts:
"Answer my question."
Her heart trembles again.
This time, she's silent a bit longer.
When she speaks, her voice is cold and low:
"As repulsive as humans. They scramble for power, stoop to any means for lust…especially those self-proclaimed 'highborn' progenitors."
"That includes yourself?"
"Obviously."
Krul flashes her fangs.
"What, exactly, do you want?"
"Kill me? Torture me? Stop playing these tricks!"
She despises this feeling of being interrogated.
The vampire queen remains proud.
