Chapter 164 - Chapter 149: Nightmare Hospital

Dr. Mahasswarren may have had a few problem with the company that Connie kept….and by a few she meant a couple hundred, but as much as prided herself as a mother, she prided herself almost equally greatly as a doctor, which meant that she knew there were times where she had to put away personal grievances for the greater good. A pregnant woman giving birth prematurely was in fact one of those times.

"How many contractions is she at?" She asked as she wheeled the woman through the hospital. Every bit of information was vital to the safety of Camila and her child. She would ignore the sight of the Vee girl that had her so conflicted, as well as the other kids that participated in that dinner ruse, four multicolored women, and the sight of what appeared to be three red devil like creatures. She would freak out over this later.

"She's had four so far. She was doing fine, but it just started coming all out on the kitchen floor!" Vee exclaimed.

"We still have time then." She noted. "Maxwell, get the chamber ready. I'm going to need five nurses and any other doctors not focused on another patient." She told the man as she went by. They rolled into the room, as Priyanka felt the stomach over. The baby seemed to be in the right position … "All kids, out of the room now, except Connie." She told them as she began getting equipment ready.

"Aaaahhhh." The woman moaned in pain.

"Connie, before you leave, roll over the anesthesia." Normally she wouldn't have her daughter participate, but she needed someone who knew what they were doing until she could get more hands on deck.

"Yes doctor." Her daughter did as she was told. "Are they going to be fine?"

"Hard to say this early. The baby is only halfway through development. Best case scenario, they'll end up smaller for the majority of their lives with slight asthma problems." Priyanka answered honestly

"Come on little one, it's gonna be okay." Luz told the stomach. "Mom, take my hand, it's gonna be fiiIIIIIIIIINE!!" The girl screamed as the pregnant woman began squeezing it with the strength of a woman in labor.

"So many pretty colors in the sky….hello mister Koala." Camila waved weakly to the ceiling.

"Those are some strong drugs." Vee mumbled.

"... I haven't even administered them yet." Priyanka muttered in worry. "Just, get everyone out of here alright? This is not something kids should be watching." Especially before the next contraction hits.

"Seriously, why aren't we at the tree! She needs to feed the tree before it hatches!" Mr. Universe's child exclaimed.

"Lucci, this isn't the time to indulge the lie Eda told you about babies! They don't grow on trees, they grow in people, and right now the one in my mom is about to come out!" Luz screamed at the curly haired boy. "It is the greatest pain known to womankind, perhaps to even all creatures across the universe, and it CANNOT! BE! TAKEN! LIGHTLY!"

"... I'm surrounded by morons." The boy grumbled as he walked out of the room. She felt slightly offended by that notion.

"Anyone feel like giving him the birds and the bees explanation before he does something stupid?" Connie asked.

"I'm pretty sure every witch has a very warped understanding of the concept, or no desire for it to be told." The Noceda child said. "Anyway let's give the doctor some space, I'd rather this go as smoothly as possible."

====================================================================i===

Amity sat a bit awkwardly as everyone waited outside the delivery room. This was possibly the second most uncomfortable place for her to be aside from a brothel in hell. Soon a new kid would be born into the world and all its crappiness, with all the adults that would take advantage of them. As the soon to be sister in law, it was her job to make sure they were safe and secure, regardless of what else fell upon them.

Of course, part of why she was uncomfortable right now had to deal with their current company while waiting. "Millie, calm down, it's going to be alright." Moxie patted his wife on the back

"I know, I know Mox Mox, I'm a cold hearted killer…but the idea of a new life coming into existence…as a new mother myself it warms my cold blooded heart!" The female imp squeezed Hunter affectionately.

"Can't … breathe …" The kid gasped.

"So … how long are they going to stick around?" Connie asked Masha as they all waited outside, awkwardly glancing at the opening door and light that said 'do not disturb' every now and then.

"I'm just the one who contacted them, they came up by themselves." They answered with a shrug.

"Usually after a job we just book it like there's no tomorrow. Seriously, living people reek of tainted horseshit." Blitz rolled his eyes. "But I'm a sucka for family drama, so I don't mind sticking it out. Plus I got to give advice on how to kill sperm donors in the most satisfying way." He turned to Lucci. "First you got to start with the joints. Because their old shitty bodies are breaking down, those hurt worse, so you get double points in both pain and humiliation."

"I'd be more attentive if I wasn't worried for the child." The boy said while writing it down in a notebook. "Maybe this is why Sasha wanted me to keep a notebook."

"..I mean, I've written one or two revenge fantasies before." The therapist herself shrugged, sitting down next to her friends. "Nice to flex the musical muscles again at least. Whataya say gals, think we got what it takes to make this professional?"

"Duh, of course we do." Marcy waved off. "Maybe when I finally get to the final arc of my webcomic. The demon thing gave me ideas for at least ten more storylines."

"I will take money for inspiration." Blitz held out his hand. "I already need to spend everything on bullet costs alone, that crazy bastard ate all our ammo. Almost as bad as dealing with you kid when we first met…almost. I'd still find the sludge thing more kinky."

"Is there any part of your language that doesn't run on innuendo?!" Pearl exclaimed, before clenching her head. "No, I'm not going to stab them in the head no matter how much they deserve it! Bismuth, you know better…no, I am NOT corrupted! Stop saying things about me that aren't true!"

"So … now that Belos is gone, are we going to shatter her?" Lucci asks.

"She has a voice in her head for all eternity, isn't that punishment enough?" Willow asks. "Greg's still on the table though."

"We already have ten million bucks, we don't even need the bastard for child support." Luz spoke up, looking at her hands worriedly. "Financially, mom's going to be okay….she'll be okay."

Amity looked at her girlfriend, and scooted next to her. "It's one thing to say it, it's another to believe what you're saying." She placed her hands on Luz's. "It IS going to turn out okay. Connie's mom is a jerk, but I'm sure she's good at her job if Connie hasn't run away already."

"Screw you….. but also true." Connie nodded. "Mom's flawless at her job. She hasn't lost a patient yet."

"Bullshit." The hellhound that had barely spoken a word the entire time said offhandedly as she continued to stare at her phone. "A doctor that never loses people? Either you're in fucking denial or the easiest rube to lie to." For some reason, Amity felt immediate kinship with this girl.

"I will stab you." Connie growls, held back by Vee.

"Hey, don't listen, I'm sure she's awesome, and every problem is gonna fix itself." The Basilisk smiled … before the lights went out. "... I said 'fix itself'!"

"Vee, we really got to work on your knowledge of tropes." Gus shook his head in disappointment. "Everyone knows that blind optimism while saying everything is going to turn out fine automatically means something terrible is about to happen. Just look at Luz, she knows all too well."

"Yeah.... Hey Connie, your mom can do the delivery without any power, right?" Luz asked nervously.

"Mom!" The girl said in wide-eyed worry. "Is everything going fine?!"

"GGAAAAAAHHH!!"

"The contractions are three minutes close!" A male voice shouted.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Hunter asked, mid trying to get out of Millie's grasp.

"It means that baby's gonna be born sooner rather than later." Connie said, rubbing her temples. "Does anyone know how to run electricity? Maybe make their way to the basement and check on the power supply?"

"Oh sure, creepy hospital, no power, splitting up. Nothing bad has ever, ever, ever sprung out of that kind of situation before." Loona rolled her eyes.

Crack

"... I think you pointing it out was worse than the situation at hand." Amity said, looking down at the breaking ground.

"Okay people, place your bets, I got fifty for this place being built under an ancient burial ground, who wants to guess a zombie outbreak on the loose?" Blitz raised some money in the air.

"Not while my sibling is being born-" Luz would have shouted more … if a colored hand didn't come out of the ground, and snatched her down.

"LUZ!" Amity jumped in after her.

"Damn it, I thought for sure this place would've been haunted!" If Amity had time, she would strangle that imp.

=======================================================================

Willow jumped in with everyone else, gazing at the … empty hallway. "... For a loud hospital I was expecting something … noisier." She noted, gazing at the environment. "Is the hospital closed or something today?"

"No, just no major operations or surgeries." Connie nodded.

"That or everyone on life support died." Loona spoke up nonchalantly.

"Your sass game is on point…I like it." Boscha smirked. Of course she'd get along with more demons from hell…actually was Boscha part hell demon? That would make a lot of sense given her general…everything about her life.

"Amity, Luz, are you out there!?" Lucci shouted … getting no response. "Okay, I'm a little out of date when it comes to horror movie logic, what's the deal here."

"Well, if we're considering this the start of a movie, chances are Luz and Amity were the first victims of what will probably become an onslaught." Marcy started. "And we should be content with the fact that they're either dead, or infected."

"Well fuck that, I did get this far in life by being content…that was literally the point of my whole song." Lucci growled. "So if I were to be a 'third' victim so to speak, what would I have to do to get 'caught'?"

"Say stuff like 'I going to find them for sure', 'everything will be alright', and 'I have a family to live for." An elongated blue arm grabbed Masha. "I literally asked for this!" They shouted as they were dragged into … a …

"GEM MUTANT!" Willow shouted, throwing vines into its body to knock it off balance.

"What now?!" Moxie exclaimed as he shot at it, which only bounced the bullets off.

"Think of them as gem zombies. They're made up of tiny rock corpses fused together." Gus explained.

"Wait, but if they're fused together, wouldn't they be more like Frankenstein?" Anne asked.

"Who cares, I'm going to rip them apart!" Mille took out a battle ax and swung at its chest, making it go poof. "Aw Phooey, there's no blood. Much less fun."

"But easier for us!" Moxie began lighting them up as they went poof. "We just need to clear them out until we find the others!"

After that sentence, another one poofed as Luz ran to them, looking exhausted. "There's hallways among hallways, going on … forever!" She panted. "What the fuck!?"

"What!?" Hunter gasped.

"Rooms and rooms of them…this entire hallway…and the one below it…and the one afterwards….THEY'RE ALL FILLED WITH GEMS MUTANTS!" Amity exclaimed, flying up on Ghost and knocking a few back.

"How are there so many!?" Willow shouted in confusion.

"Ooooh, I think I got it." Spinel nodded. "These guys are just clumped together shards, right?"

"Yeah?" Gus nodded.

"And we turned the Cluster from a massive pile of shards into a bunch of clumped together shards." The pink gem continued.

"...So you're saying by shattering the cluster, we ended up creating more gem mutants!?" Lucci shouted as they sent a disk into one of them. "...They wouldn't happen to have memories of that, do they?"

One of them grabbed Spinel, slamming her against a wall over and over. "Paaapaaapainnnnn." It responded in a broken tone.

"... A strong maybe!" The pink gem shouted as she swung around the mutant. "On the bright side, we have brand new playmates for a new game…one I like to call…revenge for inflicting trauma on me!" Spinel spun around in a tornado, walking around as many mutants as she could.

"Lucci, you saw the Cluster, how many pieces are we looking at?" Boscha asked as she threw a fireball at one of them.

"Thousands, probably millions!" He exclaimed. "Gems just become body parts when they're broken, so the more you break them, the more they're are!"

"Oooh, classic hydra rules." Marcy snickered, pulling out a slingshot as she sniped a few right next to Moxxie.

"What the heck is going on around her-Connie, why are your friends messing with the other patients!?" Dr. Mahaswarren came up, nearly getting attacked if Luz hadn't pushed the one behind her out of the way.

"...I'm sorry…did you just say PATIENTS!?" Willow exclaimed. "WHY WOULD YOU BRING SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO A HOSPITAL!?"

"They're patients found on the side of the road." Connie's mom answered.

"Again…why are they in a hospital!? They don't have any eyes, or mouths, or even heads!"

"Exactly! Imagine the damage they must have sustained! It's a miracle they're walking!"

"This is why you study up on monster biology!" Luz screamed as she poofed another, with the gems on bubbling duty. "These aren't patients, they're gem mutants trying to kill everyone here!!"

"Why would they do that!? They're clearly injured and scared!" … They just existed to make life miserable, didn't they? Suddenly Willow felt sympathy for Boscha's hatred of humans.

"Just focused on Luz's mom!" Amity exclaimed.

"It would be easier if you would just quiet down a little mo-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Connie's mom was grabbed by the legs, and dragged even further down.

"MOOOM!" Connie rushed ahead!

"Damn it! Mom's still in labor!" Luz growled, slapping her head. "Okay, I'm gonna have to do this by myself!"

"You're going to WHAT!?" Willow shouted. "That sounds like a terrible plan!"

"It's either that or mom has the baby without supervision and there's major complications!" Luz yelled. "Unless anyone here can help with that, it's the only option!"

"...I…I know…how…" Boscha raised her hand with a sigh of defeat.

"... Really?" Most of everyone there asked in surprise.

"Mama has a medical degree, she thought it would be more special if she was the one helping Mom deliver by herself." Boscha sighed. "I was given a thorough explanation of the story….a far…far..far too thorough of an explanation."

… For once in her life, Willow actually felt sorry for the girl. Thankfully a kick from a gem mutant shifted her focus. "Back off!" She threw sharp vines into its body. "Just go then!"

"Hold on, I'm not going to let my girlfriend do this alone with Boscha of all people!" Amity shouted, pile diving on another mutant. "I'll come!"

"So will I!" Sasha shouted. "You guys will need at least one adult in the room in the likely event one or all of you faint."

"We'll take care of the rest!" Lucci shouted, bubbling another gem mutant. "Gah, mom's hair is going to be bursting when all this is said and done."

"Child birth, or gem zombies…somehow the gem zombies sound the least traumatizing." Willow grunted.

"Hey, once someone's pushed out of the cooch, it's all downhill from there." Blitz threw a knife into one. "Because nothing's more traumatizing than the game of life." Gross.

=======================================================================

Boscha walked through the door. "Can someone get these kids out of here?" A doctor asked as he looked over the woman. "Alright, we don't have any equipment, we need to do this the old fashioned way, just breathe."

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!" Well Luz's mom sounded like a woman going through labor, so that was at least a good sign.

"Look bub, there's no power on, the hospital is being invaded by monsters, Dr. Mahaswarren is currently indisposed, and that woman's daughter is freaking the fuck out." Sasha stated bluntly. "We're not moving an inch."

"Pfft, people's stories get lazier and lazier." The man rolled his eyes, looking out the door. "Monsters, lady, this is a hospital, not a rubber room, so kindly get away before-AGGGGGGH!" The man was grabbed by the head and pulled away.

"...Does being a medical doctor just mean you become an entitled prick?" Boscha asked. That explained so much about Hettie Cutburn.

"Either that or the burnout of lives and effort just ruins your empathy." Luz noted, before running over to her mother. "It's gonna be alright mom. Just breathe and take my HAAAAAAANND!" She shouted. "It's tighter, how is it tighter!?"

"Adrenaline is spiking. Her heartright is speeding up." Boscha answered as she sighed. She had really hoped to never be in this situation, at least not until she was into her thirties. "Just stay like that for as long as you can, and find her something to bite down on, it's going to be painful."

Sasha began ripping off her slive and rolling it into a gag. "Sorry Ms. Noceda, it's been kind of a hectic day."

"MMMMMMMM!!!" The woman screamed behind the gag, her hands clenching hard enough to bend the metal next to her.

"Losing all feeling in my fingers…gonna need…amputation." Luz heaved out.

"There there Luz." Amity patted her. "So … what happens now?"

"Without any potions, she'll just have to push them out herself." Boscha said. "And without the equipment online to help stabilize the kid before Crystal finishes up with the mutants …"

"AGGGGGGGGGGGG!"

"Don't you always save some of Lucci's spit in a bottle, why can't you just give it to her?" Luz questioned.

"Because it's meant for healing, and for a pregnant woman, there's no telling what that means for the baby." Boscha clarified. "Will the body immediately eject it out thinking it's something unhealthy for the body? Will the womb close up and squish it to non-existence? Those are the kind of questions you have to keep in mind when it comes to healing magic." She looked around. "Amity, prep some lukewarm water and some towels. Baby's going to come out messy and we don't want it drowning on its way out.

"Right." The girl turned on a faucet … "Hey, guys … would the pipes be located next to the power?"

"Prob-oh you have got to be kidding me." Sasha grumbled, noticing the lack of water coming out. "So no power, no water, and the room is in constant danger of a structural collapse."

"AAAAAAHHHH!!"

"Yeah …. I'm countin thirty sixty nine … cracks." Luz droned out.

"Alright, we're gonna have to freestyle this." Boscha groaned, using her magic to create a block of ice, and then fire, using the melted ice for the water they needed. Potion may have been her specialty, but she did know about basic elements. "We're gonna have to do this outside. Amity, get ready to drill your way through monsters. Sasha, break out the badassery. Luz, keep holding on to your mom."

"Right." Amity pulled out her goo.

"On it." Sasha pulled out a sword.

"..." Apparently Luz lost consciousness.

"Gotta admit, you have a WAY cooler head on your shoulders than I would've at your age." Sasha winked at her.

"At some point between embarrassing parents, nightmare timelines, genocidal monsters, and going to hell….child birth is actually not so scary by comparison."

"Many would compare to differ." The woman chuckled. "Now, let's go deliver a kid."

=======================================================================

Connie poofed yet another gem mutant as she ran through the corridor. Sure this sword wasn't as good as the pink one Luz had, but it did the trick. Then again, she wasn't really paying attention to what she was attacking more than the fact that these bastards took her mom! It was striking Connie more and more lately just how…green she was to the whole situation.

Being stabbed by Belos was the first wake up call to that. She originally scoffed at Luz and the group, seeing them as careless apathetic morons…but if they had to fight something like Belos constantly…no wonder they were so messed up. And it kinda explained Vee's personality a lot. As in the 'let's just run away and leave the crazy violent situations to the witches and gems because I care about you' kind of personality.

Involving her family into the situation, someone Connie knew COULDN'T defend herself like everyone else, also threw some more realization into how Vee felt about that most of the time. Her mind was running circles around the whole thing. She literally just faced an immortal goop witch hunter while fighting alongside imps from hell, yet it was her mom being in danger that was getting her frazzled.

Of course, her mom not treating the situation as the horrifying nightmare as it was wasn't doing much. "Please, calm down, if you just get back in your rooms, I'll be sure to check over your cases!" Yeah, definitely wasn't doing anyone favors.

"Mom, they aren't human!" Connie shouted.

"Connie, you need to-IS THAT A SWORD!?" Oh for the love of-THAT WAS HER BIGGEST WORRY!?

"Yes, it's a sword!" She screamed, slicing one in half."These things are proofing into thin air! Clearly none of them are human! Why aren't you trusting me right now!?"

"Me not trusting you-YOU HAVE A SWORD!" She shouted.

"AND IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT'S KEEPING YOU FROM GETTING YOUR UNGRATEFUL BUTT TORN APART!" She exclaimed, jumping on top of one and ramming it into a wall."I'm trying to save your life!"

"You shouldn't have to! You're a kid! Just get out of the danger!"

"AND THEN WHAT!?" She screamed in her face. "LET YOU HANDLE IT!? BECAUSE NEWSFLASH, DR. MAHAWARREN, YOU CAN'T HANDLE SHIT!" She kicked one into a wall.

"Don't you dare curse at me!" The woman shouted.

"When you start punching one of these guys into submission, we'll talk!!" She yelled back.

"I knew keeping you around those hooligans would ruin you-"

"This has NOTHING to do with my friends and you know it!" Connie accused. "This is all about you having control over everything about my life! Mom, I love you, but you don't know everything! LITTERAL aliens have fallen from the sky, and I've actually taken the steps to defend myself, because running away is going to do NOTHING!" She yelled as she stabbed another one. "But no, you want to keep me shy! You want me to stay weak! You want me to stay afraid! Guess what though mom, I'm not!"

"I never wanted you to be weak and afraid!" The woman shouted from the limbs trying to crush her. "I just wanted you safe and on the right track! Every time you're around them it seems like one problem after another is trying to ruin us! We almost got arrested by the latest mayor because of Vee!"

"The latest mayor was Mr. Universe, you know he's an awful person!" Connie countered, slicing her mom free. "And my friends took care of it just like we're taking care of this! Tell me, what are you going to do about it!? With everyone here dragging you around about to tear your head off, what would you have done if I hadn't come here?!"

"I…I…" Her mom looked to the ground. "...I don't know, okay! I don't know, and that scares me!" She exclaimed. "Knowing that monsters like this could be anywhere scares me, knowing you could be out there fighting them when I'm away from you scares me!"

"It's fine being scared, it's a very scary situation!" Connie agreed as she poofed another mutant close to her mother, breathing a bit from the exertion. How long had she been doing this again? "But you need to trust that I can handle the situation-"

"Behind you!" Connie listened to her mother, watching as a giant foot nearly crushed her … before it was grabbed with vines, dragged to Willow as she used it as a punching back.

"... And trust that my company can cream problems I can't." She sighed, turning to Willow. "How's it looking?"

"Their gem mutants, so they're not too bad…though Blitzo and Spinel are getting a little out of hand." The plant girl admitted.

"SIR, STOP WASTING OUR ROCKETS, OUR BUDGET CAN'T AFFORD IT!!"

"SPINEL, STOP THROWING THEM ON THE WALLS, WE'RE GONNA COLLAPSE THE PLACE ON THE PATIENTS!!"

"CHAOS!!"

"...I assure you that Vee is actually an active pacifist that's never a part of the fights." Connie told her mother.

"At this point I'm begging for just that." The woman sighed. "We need to head back to Camila. How much longer will these….things…take to get through?"

"I dunno … hey guys, how are we looking at numbers!?" Willow shouted.

"We stopped counting after triple diggests!" Loona called back. "This is for my hair dickwad!" A loud crash was heard after.

"Watch your back!" Lucci shouted as he used sugar to hammer a couple into the ground. "We're probably going to be doing this all night!"

=======================================================================

Luz was a bit in and out of it after losing her hand to her mom. "How … how's it going?"

"We got the head out, we just need her to keep pushing." Boscha said as she and Sasha were on the other end of the bed.

And once more Luz lost feeling in her hand. "AAAAAHHHHH!!!" Mom let out a blood curdling scream.

"RAAAAA!!!" Which apparently sounded just like a gem mutant-no wait, that was a real one coming out at them.

"Back offff!" Lucci growled, growing out his horns and headbutting it into a bubble. "Nine hundred … Titan this is tedious!" He screamed as he ran back out.

"Please, please tell me that it's out already!" Her mom screamed. "I'm going to choke that bastard Greg for doing this to me!"

"Trust me….I wish he was here for you….to do that." Luz was starting to lose consciousness once again.

"One last push, come on!" Boscha screamed. "Push! Push like your life depends on it! Because it kind of does!"

"AAAAAAHHHH!" Mom screamed … before a choked crying was heard.

"Lucci spit, please work on this kid!" The three eyed girl shouted, dumping a vial on the baby. "Hopefully this'll negate the side effects of being premature."

"Might?!" Luz panicked.

"It hasn't been used on a newborn before, let alone a premature one!" Boscha countered. "We don't know what he can and can't cure!"

"Waaaaaaaaah!" The crying kept going on.

"Should it be that loud!?" Amity covered her ears.

"Be glad that it is! That means their lungs are working fine!" Sasha answered. "Ms. N, you doing alright?"

"Yes … I …" Her mom passed out.

"MOM!"

"Relax, she's just tired. She had a baby for crying out loud." Boscha said, holding the thing close. "You'd be lucky to even have the strength to blink after the whole ordeal." She patted the baby's back. "So…do you want to hold her now..?"

"Her?" Luz asked. "You mean it's a-?"

"Yeah, baby girl. Ugly as her sister." Boscha smirked.

"If you weren't holding a kid." Amity growled.

A baby girl…Luz had a sister. A little girl that she could show all the ropes too…or at least tell what not to do given all her screwups. "I'll….I'd like to hold her now." The bundle was handed over, as Luz stared down at the crying dark face of the tiny child.

So much of her mom was on the girl's face…so much of Luz's own face. This would be a fresh start for mom…she had both money and a daughter that wouldn't be a screw up in life. "Hey little gal….I know you're confused and scared right now…but that's okay." She kissed the soft girl's head. "You're surrounded by so many people that will love and protect you through everything."

The little girl stopped crying, gazing up with wide, curious eyes that held so much innocence, silently watching her. "Awwaaa …"

"I think she likes you." Amity snickered. "She must be just as smart as you."

"I hope not, or we might be in more trouble than we thought." Luz chuckled softly. She began rocking the child, watching them softly yawn and drift away. "There there … just rest for now …"

"Are they…" They all turned to her mom, her eyes just barely awake.

"Safe for now … probably." Boscha said, looking over the kid. "She's going to be fine for the most part."

"She….another beautiful girl…" Mom laughed. "... How about … Dana?" She asked, picking them up and looking them over, causing the little girl to laugh.

"Sounds perfect." Luz nodded. "Boscha…thank you. I know you don't like me, but…I'll always be grateful for what you did today."

"Don't mention it. It was more for Lucci's sake than yours anyways." Boscha nodded. "But he considers you family, and loathe as I am to admit it, family has to tolerate each other…even the annoying ones."

Definite improvement … she heard the others trudge in, looking exhausted. "Done … oh titan …" Hunter fell to the ground.

"Alien zombies…sir, if it's all the same to you, let's just stick with killing humans." Moxxie leaned on his wife's shoulder.

"No, I agree, if we're killing those things the price is gonna triple."

"Definitely different from fighting toads and robot frogs." Anne laughed.

"They're easier than coven scouts…but the sheer number….too much." Lucci groaned. "Tell me it went smoothly over here."

"Not even close." Sasha laughed. "Amity fainted twice."

"Easier than me." Luz chuckled, looking at her mom, who was once more drifting off. "Guys…meet my baby sister." Luz looked to Lucci. "Our baby sister…Dana."

"Sister…" Lucci looked at the girl with wide eyes, rubbing the girl's face with his finger. "She's so tiny."

"Tiner than most …" Luz gave a chuckle. "King sized."
