"Oh, you guys are here!" Dave said as he came forward to hug them all.
"It really is a magical place," Emma said as she pulled away from the hug. "As if you haven't seen such things," Dave said with a roll of his eyes as they all nodded.
"So, these four are our girlfriends?" Frigga asked as she looked at the four beautiful women.
"Yes, they are," Dave nodded, smiling.
Frigga turned to the women. "You should teach Thor a few things," she said, a playful glint in her eyes.
Dave just smiled, clearly enjoying the moment.
After some light conversation with Frigga, Dave and his girlfriends found themselves in one of the guest rooms in Asgard, settling in for a moment of rest before the chaos began. The room was adorned with regal Asgardian decorations, soft golden light streaming through tall windows that overlooked the vastness of the realm.
"So, you called us here because the Dark Elves are going to invade?" Trish asked, folding her arms and leaning back against the wall. She seemed unfazed by the grandeur around them, always direct and straightforward.
Dave nodded, his expression serious. "Yeah, though they're weaker than you guys might think. Not a huge threat, but now that I've got this," he said, holding up the Aether, the swirling dark substance that had once been the Reality Stone. The Aether pulsed in his hand, its dark energy swirling like smoke, crackling ominously.
Emma raised an eyebrow, curious. "What exactly is this 'Aether' you keep talking about? Is it like the Tesseract?"
Diana, who had been quietly listening, finally spoke up. "Yeah, what does it do, exactly?" Her voice was calm, but she was clearly interested in the answer.
Dave looked at them all for a moment, then nodded. "It's not quite like the Tesseract, though it shares a similar power. The Tesseract holds the Space Stone, which controls space itself—teleportation, shifting dimensions, that sort of thing. This, though," he said, holding up the Aether, "was once the Reality Stone. And right now, it's been altered."
He paused, looking at the swirling, dark energy in his palm. "Originally, the Reality Stone controlled reality—change anything, manipulate the laws of physics, make anything happen. But what the Dark Elves did to it... they infused it with their own dark magic. It's no longer just a Reality Stone—it's become a Dark Force Generator. It's still dangerous, but now it feeds on darkness, chaos, and destruction. It's like a battery of pure negative energy."
Emma furrowed her brow. "So, it's like an evil version of the Reality Stone?"
"Exactly," Dave replied. "It can warp the fabric of reality, but instead of creating or changing things for good, it spreads darkness and destruction. The Dark Elves want it because it gives them a power unlike anything else in the universe."
"So, the Dark Elves are coming for it?" Emma asked as Dave nodded.
"Yeah, but like I said, they're weaker. They can't even control forces like Emma can with the Phoenix Force. Honestly, Emma alone is strong enough to wipe them all out," Dave said casually.
"Only their ruler can somewhat manipulate Dark Force, but even that is limited without the aid of the Aether. That's why they're so desperate to get it," he explained as the others nodded in understanding.
"So, I'm basically giving you guys a chance to cut loose and go all out," he added with a smirk.
The girls exchanged grins, their eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Hah, I've been wanting to test where my power lies now," Trish said eagerly, cracking her knuckles.
Boom!
"Speak of the devil, and here they are," Dave said with a smirk as a booming sound echoed through the air, followed by a tremor that shook the walls.
"Oh, they're already here," Trish said as she stood up, a wide grin on her face. A long pulse-sword crackling with lightning appeared in her hand as she summoned her weapon. "I guess it's showtime," she added before rushing outside, practically vibrating with excitement.
"I'll be getting ready too," Emma said, her body beginning to glow faintly as she tapped into the Phoenix Force. She nodded to Dave before disappearing through the doorway, heading straight toward the battlefield.
Dave then turned to Diana and Boa, who were still calmly seated.
"What about you two?" he asked.
Diana gave a serene smile. "I'm not particularly interested in fighting unless necessary. But if it comes to it, I will defend this place."
Boa added with a lazy, graceful stretch, "I've already had my fill of fighting back in my own world. I think I'll just stay here for now and watch the fireworks," she said with a wink as she leaned back into the cushions, clearly relaxed despite the chaos outside.
Dave chuckled, shaking his head. "Fair enough," he said before turning toward the door, ready to join the fray.
Dave stepped out of the guest wing and into the open courtyard just in time to catch the scene unfolding before him.
The sky was painted in strange, swirling clouds of darkness — the kind that only Dark Elves could conjure — but it hardly mattered. Because standing amidst the chaos were two dazzling forces of nature.
Emma floated effortlessly in the air, her body surrounded by the blazing, majestic aura of the Phoenix Force. Her very presence seemed to bend reality around her. Every wave of her hand sent massive shockwaves of burning cosmic fire, vaporizing groups of Dark Elves before they could even raise their weapons.
On the ground, Trish was a whirlwind of movement. Her long pulse-sword, crackling with lightning, danced through the enemy ranks like a reaper's scythe. Every swing unleashed arcs of electricity that chained from one Dark Elf to another, dropping them like flies. Her grin was wild, her eyes burning with battle frenzy as she enjoyed every second of it.
Dave watched, arms casually crossed, a small amused smile playing on his lips.
"I guess... I don't even have to join," he muttered to himself, chuckling as he leaned against a nearby pillar, content to just watch the show for now.
The Dark Elves, who had arrived with grim confidence, were now realizing their mistake. Screams and shouts filled the air as they desperately tried to regroup — but it was pointless. Emma and Trish were tearing through them with ease, like a storm of destruction unleashed upon the battlefield.
Several Asgardian guards who had rushed in to help simply stopped in their tracks, wide-eyed, realizing they weren't even needed.
Dave smirked to himself and thought, Maybe I should have told them to hold back a little... Nah.
