Chapter 30 - Kisses, Confessions, and Chaos

*Isabella's POV*

Damn, he pulled away before I even had a chance to react. I blinked, my lips tingling from the kiss, and muttered under my breath, "Fuck, you're such a fucking tease." Jacob smirked, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Yet you kissed me," he said casually, leaning in just a little. "I didn't do anything." He winked, and I rolled my eyes, feeling annoyed but also strangely exhilarated.

"So, lunch?" he asked, an eyebrow raised. Hesitating for a moment, I poured myself a glass of water, looking away to hide my slightly flushed face. "Hmmm… let me think," I said, giving him a hard stare. I wanted to make him sweat a little. "Oh, come on," he teased, voice low and tempting. "Don't make me kiss you again."

I hesitated, then finally relented. "Yeah, okay. After the meeting, okay?" I said, giving in, knowing damn well I was already hooked. He leaned closer, eyes locking onto mine. "aren't you not gonna join?" he inquired, a little disappointed. "No. I'm not gonna sit through every damn meeting," I shot back, crossing my arms. But he looked genuinely surprised. "Why not?" he asked, sounding a bit let down. Argh, he was impossible. I burst out laughing, shaking my head. "You're such a pain in the ass."

*The next day*

I was sitting behind my desk, eyes glued to my laptop, typing away and trying to focus on the endless mountain of work. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of him—fucking Jacob—walking into the office like he owned the place. My cheeks warmed instantly, and I couldn't help but blush a little as he approached.

"Morning, doll," he greeted with that cocky smile, voice smooth and confident. I shot back, trying to sound nonchalant, "Your coffee is on the damn desk, sir." He chuckled, stepping closer. "Such a shame. I like the girl who brings it more," he teased, winking at me that wicked grin of his. I rolled my eyes but replied, "I'll be there in a few."

He nodded, turning on his heel and walking into his office, leaving me with a lingering view of his back profile. Damn, it was just as sexy as the front. I couldn't help but stare for a moment longer, feeling a mixture of annoyance and attraction swirl inside me.

Soon after, I found myself following him into his office. The moment I stepped inside, Jacob was faster. He quickly pulled me in by the waist, his arms firm around me, and before I could even think, he swept me off my feet, lifting me effortlessly.

My legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, and his lips immediately found mine in a passionate, hungry kiss. His mouth was demanding, and I melted into it, losing myself in the heat of his touch.

"I see you missed me, Miss Williams," he mumbled between kisses, his voice deep and teasing. I could only respond with a moan, completely lost in his touch, in the sensation of his lips on mine. Fuck, I was so damn addicted to this feeling. He broke away just enough to look into my eyes, a mischievous smirk curling his lips. "Lunch?" he asked, voice low and tempting. I hesitated, then shook my head. "I can't. I'm going to the university today. I'm taking a half day," I said, gently pushing myself back onto the ground as he set me down.

He gave me that smirk again, voice playful but commanding. "Out of the question. As your boss, I...," he started, but I cut him off with another fierce kiss, pressing my fingers to his lips. He chuckled, lips brushing against mine. "I can't say no to that," he muttered, and I giggled despite myself. "Seriously, though," I said, pulling back slightly. "I missed one exam because I was in New York. I have to go today."

He seemed to accept that, nodding slightly. "Fine. Whatever. Just tell me what the hell I need to do today," he said, sounding a little annoyed but mostly amused. I smirked and leaned in again, teasing. "Buy a coffin. You're going to be dead without me." Jacob burst out laughing, the sound rich and genuine. "Goddamn, you're insufferable," he said, shaking his head but still smiling.

*2pm*

I snatched up my phone in a rush, fumbling to dial Jacob's number before I could second-guess myself. My fingers trembled slightly as I hit call, voice a little shaky. "Jacob, I'm leaving now. Is there anything I need to do before I go?" I asked, trying to keep my tone steady, but I could feel my heart pounding.

There was a brief pause on the line before he answered, his voice low and teasing. "A kiss," he said without missing a beat. I rolled my eyes so hard I thought they might fall out. "Fuck you," I muttered under my breath, then without waiting for his reply, I hit the end call and let out a nervous giggle—stupid, I know, but I couldn't help it.

I grabbed my bag, slung it over my shoulder, and headed for the door, already feeling the familiar rush of panic creeping in. But just as I stepped outside, I froze in my tracks.

Shit. I'd forgotten something. My damn phone.

Great. Now I was already running late for the damn bus. This whole day was a mess—and honestly, it was all Jacob's fault. My mind was clouded, swirling with stupid thoughts and feelings I couldn't quite control.

I hesitated a moment, staring at my desk, my phone on top, as i glanced at the the closed door of his office, debating whether I should just miss the bus. I could catch the next bus, right? A quick kiss from him wouldn't hurt—just a little moment, a tiny escape from the chaos. Hell, I convinced myself, turning on my heel and walking straight into his office before I even had a second to talk myself out of it.

Little did I know, Jacob didn't miss me at all. Little did I know, His lips were already occupied. By someone else.
