The vortex tore through the sky with a deafening roar, a radiant chasm splitting the very fabric of reality. To the eyes of those below, it was as if the heavens themselves had been wounded, ripped asunder by forces too great to comprehend. Darkness blanketed the world, and violent winds screamed through the mountains, as two figures were cast from the heavens like divine meteors.
One was bathed in a fierce golden light, lightning swirling violently around her body like a living tempest. Her silhouette glowed with raw, celestial energy, radiant and majestic—a vision of overwhelming power and fury. The other figure was grotesque and terrifying, a monstrous mass of darkness more beast than man. Its presence oozed malevolence, and its form writhed with corrupted energy. To the watchers on the ground, it seemed as though a goddess and a demon had descended from the skies to wage war upon the earth itself.
The very ground beneath them trembled as the two collided with the land. The impact sent shockwaves radiating through the dense forest, flattening trees and splitting the earth open in jagged lines. Boulders cracked apart, animals fled in terror, and the wind howled louder still, stirred into chaos by their arrival. It was as if nature itself recoiled at their presence.
In a blink of an eye, Zhang Yuqi and the dreaded Zombie King were teleported to a different location, ripped away from their original battlefield. However, Zhang Yuqi could barely register her new surroundings as her eyes remained locked onto the monstrous figure as dust and rubble settled around them.
When the dust cleared, Zhang Yuqi and the Zombie King stood at the center of a massive crater, their eyes locked in fierce determination. Without hesitation, they lunged at each other, their battle resuming as if the earth-shattering fall had been nothing more than a brief pause.
Zhang Yuqi couldn't afford to let this monster roaming the Earth and threatening mankind any longer, and the Zombie King on the other hand, simply wanted to destroy this human who radiated such a dangerous aura that was threatening his existence!
Zhang Yuqi's eyes burned with unwavering focus, every inch of her body crackling with golden-yellow lightning. With each step she took, arcs of electricity surged around her, shielding her and striking out at the creature who dared defy her. Despite the Zombie King's deteriorated flesh and grotesque form, his movements were blindingly fast—unnatural, feral, and merciless.
But Yuqi was no ordinary warrior. She had spent years mastering her ability since the first sparks of lightning coursed through her body in the early days of the apocalypse. Through hardship and battle, she had refined her gift to deadly precision. Now, with lightning speed and brutal force, she matched the monster strike for strike.
"You won't get away this time!" she shouted, her voice filled with unyielding determination. She launched a torrent of lightning at him, the arcs of electricity snaking through the sky, illuminating the battlefield in flashes of brilliant light like divine wrath.
The Zombie King responded with a guttural roar, raising one decayed arm to conjure a barrier of writhing dark energy. The air sizzled where light met shadow, and the collision of their powers sent tremors through the land. The ground beneath them cracked and splintered, trees uprooted and rocks shattered as their powers collided.
Ji Xuan and the others watched in horror, utterly frozen by the scene unfolding before them. What had once been a battle between the pursued and the pursuers had now become something divine—something far beyond their comprehension.
"This… this is a fight between gods," one soldier whispered, barely audible over the roaring winds.
"Gods? One of them is clearly a demon! A demon from the abyss"
"The goddess is battling the demon!" one of the prince's men whispered, his voice trembling. His eyes were wide with fear as he watched Zhang Yuqi, her body glowing with golden light, wielding powers beyond anything he had ever imagined.
"Too fast! My eyes can't keep up!"
The assassins, usually stoic and fearless, exchanged uneasy glances. They had been sent to kill a prince, not witness the wrath of the heavens.
In their eyes, the radiant figure was clearly a goddess. Her flowing lightning, the way she commanded the very elements, seemed too divine to belong to a mere mortal. Her opponent, on the other hand, looked like a demon straight from the depths of hell. Its unsightly form twisted and decayed, emitting a foul stench even from a distance.
The battle between the two raged on, and the landscape around them was torn apart.
The ancient warriors who had moments ago been locked in battle themselves now cowered in the presence of these two beings. Even the assassins who had sworn to kill the prince now stood dumbfounded, their blades lowered, forgotten in silent awe.
Zhang Yuqi darted forward, her body a blur as she closed the distance. The ground beneath her feet sparked with electricity, leaving small scorch marks in her wake. She swung her fist toward the creature's side, and lightning arced from her knuckles, striking with a crack that reverberated through the valley. The impact sent the creature flying, its massive frame crashing into a nearby cliffside, reducing the stone to rubble.
But the dark entity rose again, as if unphased by the destruction around it. It let out a guttural roar, the sound echoing across the mountains, before launching itself back at Zhang Yuqi with a renewed fury. Tendrils of dark energy spiraled out from its form, lashing at the air like whips, seeking to ensnare her.
Zhang Yuqi dodged those dark tendrils effortlessly, her body twisting and turning as she evaded the attacks. With a fluid motion, she summoned another bolt of lightning from the sky, directing it downward with pinpoint accuracy. The bolt struck the creature square in the chest, the force of it sending shockwaves through the battlefield, uprooting trees and sending chunks of earth flying in every direction.
The creature staggered, its body flickering as if the energy within it was unstable. But it refused to fall, lunging at her once more with a desperate rage.
Yuqi's eyes narrowed, her patience thinning. She raised both hands to the sky, her fingers crackling with energy as the storm above them seemed to respond to her will. The clouds darkened further, swirling faster as the wind picked up speed, pulling leaves and debris into the vortex. Lightning illuminated the sky in jagged flashes, painting the battlefield in sharp contrasts of light and shadow.
With a scream that echoed across the mountains, Yuqi summoned a bolt of lightning from the storm above. Red lightning streaked through the dark clouds, converging on her outstretched hands, the force of it nearly deafening. She held it for a moment, feeling the raw power coursing through her, before directing it toward the creature with a mighty thrust.
The red bolt struck with a blinding flash, engulfing the dark figure in an explosion of energy. The ground shook violently, and a shockwave rippled out from the impact, knocking soldiers and assassins alike off their feet. Trees bent under the force of the blast, and boulders were torn from the earth.
The creature let out a final, agonized roar before its form disintegrated into ash, consumed by the overwhelming power of Yuqi's lightning. The oppressive dark energy that had surrounded it evaporated, leaving nothing but silence in its wake.
Panting, Yuqi lowered her hands, her body still crackling with residual energy. The storm above began to dissipate, the clouds parting to reveal the stars once more. The battlefield, which had moments ago been a scene of chaos and destruction, was now eerily quiet.
The soldiers, the assassins, and even Prince Ji Xuan watched in stunned awe as Zhang Yuqi stepped forward, her gaze fixed on the pile of ash where the Zombie King had fallen. She crouched down, her fingers brushing through the remains until they found a small, glowing green gemstone, the source of the Zombie King's frightening power. She lifted it, examining it closely, a frown creasing her brow.
As she rose to her feet, the power surrounding her began to wane, the golden light dimming. But to the onlookers, she remained a radiant, divine figure—undeniably powerful, awe-inspiring, and otherworldly.
Just then, she finally registered in her new environment.
