Kouhei stepped closer to Masayoshi, his shadow stretching across the scorched ground between them.
Right now, Masayoshi looked truly terrified. His breath came out ragged, sweat dripped down his temples, and his wide eyes darted around like a cornered animal looking for an escape. It was the first time Kouhei had ever seen him like this. He was so shaken that even his words tasted of fear.
Kouhei's steps were slow but unyielding, each one crunching against the broken earth as Masayoshi scrambled backward, the heel of his foot dragging up ash and dirt.
"S-Stay away, you fucker!" Masayoshi roared, voice cracking and raw with panic. "You can't kill me! I'm… I'm time itself! I can bend time to my will! There's no fucking way an insignificant fuck like you could ever manage this! You're nothing! I said, you're nothing!"
Yet for all his words, Masayoshi kept backing away, trembling, as if every inch Kouhei moved closer tightened an invisible noose around his neck.
