Marcus sighed, his voice steady. "I'm not choosing sides, Jack. But I'm not leaving anyone behind, no matter how tough things get. Serena's rough, yeah, but we need her skills."
"Wow," Lila muttered, shaking her head. "I didn't expect this."
Jack took a step back, his face full of disappointment. "Fine. If that's how it is, we'll go without you."
Serena smirked, her eyes cold. "Good luck out there, Jack. You're going to need it."
Jack glared at her but said nothing more. He turned to Lila, his voice low. "Come on, let's go."
Lila hesitated for a moment, casting a quick glance at Marcus, but then followed Jack. Together, they walked away, leaving Marcus and Serena standing by the wall.
As they disappeared into the distance, Marcus sighed, looking at Serena. "You don't make things easy, love. How are we gonna take the food now?"
Serena smiled, her eyes gleaming with something dark as she stepped closer. She gently placed her hands on Marcus's cheeks, pulling him in.
