"Why?"
Because I don't want to go through that ever again. "Because it was hard for me and it still is even now."
"Can you talk to me about the after?"
"It was mostly a blur. I think almost a year passed while I was like that."
"How?"
"I mostly slept."
"Did your body heal?"
"I stopped bleeding after three days. By then I had lost so much blood I was weak I couldn't even lift a finger."
Dante had to force-feed me even though I didn't want to eat or drink. I wanted to die and join my baby but he kept on insisting on keeping me alive.
"I was being a nuisance to Dante, so after two weeks he stopped bothering me. I was just sleeping and crying. I wasn't getting up or even had any desire to get outside.
"The place still smelled like my baby, but the metallic scent was still lingering. The scent stays with you even after being cleaned and bathed. Even though Dante cleaned me up and the place, it still smelt like that."
