—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/n's feet dragged across the ground covered in asbestos. With each step, his pants absorbed more asbestos, gradually turning a whitish-grey.
However, that wasn't the problem; the real problem was the visibility. It was quite literally a shit show. He could hardly see a couple of meters in front of him because of the storm kicking up snow everywhere possible.
Unfortunately, he meant that literally. If he were to drop something, you could almost compare it to losing something like a TV remote, disappearing from the face of Copper 9, only to reappear a few months later in a random cereal box, like a child's toy.
"Thump"
Y/n looked down at the floor, squinting through the falling snow, trying to figure out what he had bumped into when he finally saw some skull-like features partly hidden in the snow. He didn't scream or panic but instead rolled his eyes and sighed, then stepped over and moved on.
Sometimes, due to the storm, it wasn't uncommon for his path to be cluttered with items that nearly tripped him over. Some of which included building debris, rocks, a body, a worker drone's dead body, or piles of dead worker drones.
Either way, the storm wasn't making it any easier for him to find the place he was looking for. Suddenly, Y/n spotted a faint green light shining through the snow in the distance. If it's what he suspects, he might have found something to guide him to the lab since he was kinda going off of memory.
The green light was moving around before stopping nearby, as it seemed to have taken notice of him standing there watching it.
Y/n knelt on one knee and reached his hand toward the green light on the ground. At first, it stayed still, but soon it quickly crawled toward him, leaping onto his hand and climbing up along his arm before stopping just short of his face.
It tilted its head toward him, causing its little antennas to sway to the right, then suddenly emitted a blue light that scanned his face, moving up and down.
After completing the scan, it jumped off his body, landed on the floor, and turned back to look at him, happily jumping and running in circles around him to show its joy at seeing one of the staff return after what he thought would be 18 years.
Y/n smiled faintly, watching the bug before it jumped onto the palm of his hand. Y/n then stood back up on his own two feet, while gently stroking the bug, which caused its little wings to flutter.
Y/n: Yes, it's good to see you, little buddy. Would you be willing to take me back to compound 4v?
It did a small flip as if agreeing with his request, then jumped off his hand and onto the floor. It started running ahead but paused to look back, making sure Y/n was still following closely behind it.
"THUMP"
Y/n's body jolted, surprised by the sudden noise behind him. He quickly turned to look back in the direction he came from. His eyes searched the area, but the storm made it difficult to see. The sound was similar to when he had bumped into the skeleton's head.
Y/n took a slight defensive stance as his hand reached into one of his pockets and pulled out a handy-dandy Jc Jesson wack wrench. Unlike last time, he wasn't trying to get fucked over again by that crazy disassembly drone. There was just something about that drone that seemed familiar, but also filled him with fear from how crazy she was.
Y/n slowly stepped back while maintaining his stance, narrowing his eyes briefly before quickly turning around and chasing after the Keybug.
He had suspected for some time that something or someone was following him since he left the bunker, but as he traveled across the city, the feeling of being watched grew stronger by each hour.
Y/n kept running for a while until he noticed a shadow being cast from an overhead building he was approaching. His pace quickened as he passed the keybug, which he swiftly grabbed.
It turned to face him as a green text screen appeared close to his face.

Fuck
That was the only thought running through his mind: it had been so long since he last visited this place that he had forgotten the password.
He paused to consider what the other humans had written before an idea came to him.
———————————————-
NULL Void: Y/n
Keybug: Loading... Loading... Loading... Password accepted... error, no power. Better luck next time. L, bozo :3
———————————————-
Y/n stared in disbelief at the response, thinking, 'What the hell kind of response is that?' but he quickly shook it off as he got closer to the place, and the building slowly came into view.

Restart generators to the building: Y/n
Keybug: Loading... Loading... beginning generators restart program. Error: Slight system failures have been detected; maintenance is required.
Is opening the doors one of them??? Y/N
Keybug: (-_-) No door systems are fully operational! :3
———————————————-
Y/n was gasping for air, standing in front of a pair of locked doors. The only way in was through the Keybug. He cautiously glanced over his shoulder, watching for any movement. His body trembled with fear of whatever was chasing him. Then he looked ahead again and kept typing into the small 3D keyboard of the Keybug.
———————————————-
Open the goddam doors then!: Y/n
Keybug: Loading... door opening sequence for compound 4V has been initiated. Please stand away from doors if you don't want to get your hands crushed.
———————————————-
In front of him, the locked door began to produce a loud mechanical sound, resembling gears and bars shifting from the other side.
Y/n stood there anxiously, eyes shifting from the ground to the sky. His grip on the wrench tightened, ready for an attack at any moment, but... There was nothing. Even as the final gear sound echoed and the doors opened, nothing happened.
He gradually turned his back to the door, stepped back cautiously, and kept his guard up before entering the building.
While walking deep inside the building, Y/n suddenly jumped when the green screen reappeared in front of his face from the Keybug, causing him to shift his focus away from the doorway.
———————————————-
Keybug: Please rate your experience and leave a tip below. *small letters* The minimum tip is $45.
———————————————-
Y/n sighed while rolling his eyes.
———————————————-
Close main door: Y/n
Keybug: Closing door... Error: additional power is needed. Please head to the generator to redirect power.
Ugh... take me to the generator: Y/n
———————————————-
The keybug did a cool backflip, then turned and leaped away from his hand, darting down a hallway ahead of him as he followed closely behind. As he moved farther from the open main door, the surroundings grew darker by the second.
Y/n searched through his many pockets, feeling each one until his hand grasped something hard, long, and with a round tip at the end. When he pulled it out, it was precisely what he expected: a flashlight.
Y/n glances at the reader.
*Image here*
Shaking his head, he refocused on the dark hallway, shining his flashlight ahead, and continued walking toward where the Keybug had run off to, occasionally shining some light into the rooms he passed.
There was nothing particularly unusual in the rooms, just the usual things: a collapsed ceiling, a decayed storage area, a welcome sign for someone named Leon... Oh yeah, and the gremlin crouching in the corner of one of them...Wait, what?
Stopping dead in his tracks, he just blinked, confused about whether what he saw was real or not. Taking a slow and steady deep breath, he slowly leaned back slightly while shining the light toward the corner of the room.
.

.
.
There was nothing there; could his mind be playing tricks on him? No, that's impossible. He closed his eyes and thought about the possibility... Maybe all these years actually were finally catching up to him after all.
He just shook his head while taking a deep breath, his hand moved through his hair as a sort of anxiety relief measure.
He was about to continue following the Keybug, but as he opened his eyes.
Y/n reaction: *image here*
His body stiffened as all color drained from his face. Standing only three inches away, a pair of glowing purple screen eyes filled his view and reflected his face at him.
Take a moment again, he shut his eyes and began rubbing them. Then, reopening, he saw that the purple eyes were still staring at him.
Y/n: uh huh... AHHHH!
He let out a girlish scream as his hand quickly reached into his pocket, trying to find the wrench. Suddenly, a mental hand was placed over his mouth, muffling him until he calmed down.
??? : Whoa, whoa, quiet, Y/n! What the hell are you trying to do? Call the Disassembly Drones on us!?
Pausing his attempt to grab his wrench, his eyes narrow as he examines the person's appearance. He rolled his eyes, finally realizing who it was. He grabbed their wrist of the hand covering his mouth and tried yanking it off, but due to the difference in strength, it was stuck on him.
???: Heh, what's the matter? Did a worker drone catch your tongue?
Rolling his eyes, a cheeky idea popped into his head, one that might make her regret her words. He held her wrist more firmly and opened his mouth, running his tongue along her metal hand.
Unaware of what Y/n was planning, a shiver ran up the worker drone's robotic body as suddenly she felt the slimy wetness of his tongue sliding across her palm. She tried yanking her hand away, but Y/n's firm grip held her hand in place.
???: Ugh, gross!
Finally releasing his grip on the drone, she kept her hand close to her body, trying to keep it as far away from him as possible after his strange stunt.
Y/n: Maybe next time, don't sneak up on me, but what the hell are you doing here, Uzi? You do know you shouldn't be out this far, right?
Uzi: Ugh, you're not my mom! And seriously, I came after you, idiot! Who said you could just walk out of my room?
Y/N: Wait, Uzi, you're the one who's been following me?
Uzi: Yeah? Honestly, who else would even want you?... "coughing" And besides, you're stuck with me. I'm not letting you out of my sight.
Suddenly, Uzi extended her hand as if she wanted something from him.
Uzi: Also, you took something from me, hand it back.
Letting out a sigh, y/n scavenged through his stuff, searching for the item before finally pulling out a choker and handing it back to her.
Uzi: Seriously, why'd you even take this thing? It's just a neck choker.
Y/n: Uzi, you do realize this place is really far from your guys' bunker, right? How are you feeling?
Uzi: Never been bett-er.
Y/n looked at her with an emotionless expression after noticing the minor glitch in her voice.
Uzi: T-That was nothing! Don't get the wrong idea!
Y/n; Yeah, uh huh, sure... *sighs* Well, if I remember right, I think there's a spot where you can plug yourself in to charge.
Uzi: Hmhp, I'm not thankful or anything... but there's a slight problem: I didn't bring my sleeping cord with me.
Y/n: Well, if this place hasn't been scavenged, which I doubt it has, considering the door was still closed when I arrived, then there should be a cord nearby that place I mentioned. But before we go there, I need to check on the generators. So, are you coming with me? You might learn a thing or two about us humans.
Uzi: Ugh, I don't need a lengthy exposition about how you humans are really the good guys, but I'm not taking my eyes off you, not this time... or ever again.
Y/n began walking down the hallway with Uzi jogging alongside, trying to keep up with his pace.
Uzi: So, are we going to talk about that girlie scream I heard?
Y/n: god damn it.
*slight time skip of Y/n fixing the generator with Uzi holding a flashlight horribly.*
They entered a room with a computer terminal, and behind it was a window. As they drew closer, Y/n peered past the window and looked inside, catching sight of two massive generators.
They appeared to be in rough condition but were still running. He glanced to his left at the turned-off terminal. Walking over, he pressed the on button, which brought the screen to life before displaying a few notifications with a few options.
—------------------------------------
Control program: Due to multiple system failures, power is set to minimum operation. Please get in touch with a technician.
Control program: Warning: Warning: Warning. The factory core is unstable and operating at reduced capacity to prevent it from failing and harming all employees. Please have a worker drone remove it from the site and store it in a secure location for safe detonation.
Control program: P.S. Don't tell the worker drone they are going to die.
—------------------------------------
Y/n: Are you fucking kidding me? UGH!
Y/n hunched over the computer terminal and ruffled through his hair. Sure, he thought it might be a bit old, but being at unstable was the worst opposition to have.
Uzi: Oh sorr-eh I mean, whatever.
Y/N glanced to his left, watching Uzi casually nibble on his left hand. What struck him as odd wasn't that she was biting him, but how much Uzi resembled Nori. She was really her kid... He told himself he was doing it for her, so that's what he would do.
Y/n: Don't worry about it, it wasn't about you, though. Since we're on the topic, why exactly are you biting me?
Uzi: No reason, okay? I just feel like it.
Y/n smirked and turned his attention back to the terminal.
Crunch
Confused about the sound, he looked up at the window in front of him. But as he did, he noticed that the window, which had been perfectly fine just a moment ago, now had a bunch of cracks that seemed to have spread out from the center.
Y/n: what the h-Ow!
A sharp pain suddenly shot from his left hand. Looking back at Uzi, she was biting his hand again, but this time much harder. He realized it wasn't just the pain, there was a small line of blood leaking from the corner of her mouth.
Y/n: Uh, Uzi?
Uzi: I'm nervous, okay?! Bite me!
Y/n: Uzi, don't tell me you're afraid of ghos-Ow!
Uzi: "scoff" of course not, what would make you think that? Huh!
Y/n: Oh, I don't know... maybe the fact that when the window creaked, you bit down hard, and then when I said "ghost".
Uzi: Just so you know, I still have your hand in my mouth, so go ahead and try me!
Y/n: Okay, okay, just don't bite so hard, would you? I don't have much blood left from these last few days.
Uzi:... Ugh, fine, I guess.
Finally getting a somewhat decent response, Y/n was able to refocus on the terminal and read the option for real this time.

Control program: What would you like to do?
1. Redirect additional power to the site Cabin Fever.
2. Redirect power in the facility.
3. Unplug and replug generators.
4. Call Domino's.
5. Call portable help bomb code ↓→↑↑↑
Redirect power in facility: Y/n
Control program: list of all power locations
-Main door: offline, more power is needed
-Lights in facility: offline, more power is needed.
-Drone sex room: online
-Facility core room: online with minimal power.
-Bathroom: online
-Security defenses against solver: offline, this site is screwed if this is off.
-Facility defense: offline, more power needed
Redirect power from the sex room and bathroom to the main door and core: Y/n
Control program: confirmed power redirection is in progress.

Clink Clink
There was a loud clicking noise coming from the two generators just outside the window, but it seemed to fade away, possibly because the power had been rerouted.
He would need to track down the key bug to verify that the power redirection was working as he had hoped, but for now, it was time to head to the last destination, the core.
Uzi: I hope you're aware that we're going to talk about why you attempted to escape and came here.
Y/n: Yeah, that's fine - we can talk about it on the way. Come on, we needed to head back up.

Just a quick update for those on websites where I hadn't posted the update chapter. My main focus is on Murder Drones and Hazbin Hotel moving forward since I finished my Avatar book. But anyway, to build up chapters on Patreon, I'm only posting one free chapter per month until I have 10 chapters.
P.S. I'm actually offering free tiers right now because of something that happened a few months ago.
Quick thanks to my supporters.
